I've grown to appreciate that "sound" over the years. As I get older, I find "lower and slower" is also my motto. I've used a number of "digital" models of the Sunn Model T amps for a while now (Line 6 Mooon, etc.). Drone and Doom Metal forever!
I’m a big fan of your content. I had to pick one of these up after hearing your demo and testing it out with the digital version. The digital version held up well compared with my Hilbish Beta-amplifier 200. I’m excited to have a pedal version with both the lead and bass mode. The Hilbish is based on the beta bass.
@@Benjohns89 Hilbish is what Buzz uses. I had to go back and look at the product description. I could have sworn I’d read it was specifically based on the beta bass. The product description just says it’s for guitar and bass. So I could be wrong. I know the lead and bass are different by a few components. I also know many guitar and bass players have used both. Either way the Betaamplifier and Sol Invictus are both awesome.

Nice :). Interesting to see your settings, similar to mine but with less bass, I’ve used it mainly with a guitar in E flat thought. I asked ghost note about the 2 gain controls. With them both matched it’s as the original would be but I could never quite hear the difference between them myself
Yep I think I forgot to mention that about the controls. I'm going to try and do better about putting settings on screen. I know I like to see them myself

Aside from my boss sd1 that I use as a general purpose boost it’s the best boost/drive pedal I’ve had so I trust your ear when it comes to eq and settings!
@ oh and the hellbender pickups in my epiphone les Paul! It is. I had a clone of an original rangemaster before but it was so noisy and too shrill. Being able to lower the gain a little and boost other frequencies makes it far better
Although not my cup of tea (I can't imagine using this type of sound by myself), but it sounds great combined with your playing style. And I agree, GNA makes great things. I have the 8100 Gold (the original bolt-together version), bought at the end of October 2024.

Awesome demo. I had been looking at getting a Sol Invictus and was curious where this stacked up. I feel like the difference is if you want more versatility this one is great (and cheap) and the Sol Invictus is more authentic with more versatile routing. I think this video just made my decision MORE difficult rather than less!😂
@@TheDistortionPrinciple It's good. Works great with a Metalzone and Duncan Distortion pickups for the Crowbar tone. The Beta Lead with a Rat is probably my favorite of the two. I have the original bolt-together enclosure versions, but I assume they are the same components inside.

Once back in 2013 or so I played a beta lead in a music store called sound house music that went out of business cause our good friend put em out of business for being crooked, anyways; I wish I’d put it in layaway and would have had the cash, but had a gf and was 19-20.
