Quest 3 unboxing and first impressions...
What do I think? This is the coolest headset I've ever owned (the second headset besides the quest 2), and I... like it. Not LOVE. Five years from now there will be a huge jump and I'm excited for the future of VR and mixed reality.

they draw the coming-soon-features idea from game industry, where they drop the game first then fix the bugs later. I am waiting for the day when restaurant tells me that my fries that is part of the combo meal will be coming soon. I want to buy Quest 3 so bad, but I am waiting for them to "make it ready". It's up to us consumers to fix this type of behavior.

Bro, really didn’t do his homework right. Mixed reality/pass-through, does look good (WHEN) you use good lighting. Second: that one clip of that kid playing out in the sunlight was the dumbest thing anyone can do with an oculus. I told that kid on his page not to be dumb and do that again. The sunlight on a clear day will go through the lens and magnify a direct hit on the sensor. Thus having dead pixels.
That's true, if you leave it sitting in the sun for a few minutes. It won't burn anything but the lenses, the cameras and other components are fine. So, if he keeps them covered from the sun there really isnt any problem, but there is a big risk by doing that of course.
Population one is enhanced for the Q3. It looks great!

The one thing that bugs the hell out of me about the new "home" area, are the arms. The arms, no matter where I am or stand or sit, they seem to be coming out of my neck and they are blocky...I hate them and wish Meta would give us the option to just show our hands

If it's the best pass through of the competition, it's the best of your life. Perfect no, but good, they never said perfect. Nit picking for what you get for $500is annoying. You lucky they don't charge for updates, that will make the q3 better and better.

you do not need the quest 3 its worth getting only the controllers
This is the worst headset! Why? Because they purposely made the head strap suck so bad practically forcing you to upgrade the head strap. Meta could have easily increase the battery span by putting the battery outside the head set. Thankfully there are a lot of third party manufacturers that can solve this problem without breaking the bank. Game selection was horrible on the quest 2 and no improvement on the quest 3? Bait and switch. There is just not enough improvement in the quest 3 to quantify a $500 and $700 dollar purchase. $700? 512 gb. I also hate how you can not adjust the lenses for better clarity. Dude I have better sight clarity on my rifle scopes! Real rifles btw. So I give the meta quest 3 a big fat F! F for failure to deliver!
I give it a big fat A, love it. There is PCVR, side quest and applab for more gaming and app selections over 4,000 total, none of those options on the PSVR2 and you need a PS5 and it's WIRED ($1,100). Go spend $2,000 on a Pimax, Pico 4, Aero etc. with NO game catalog and base stations at $200 a piece ( they do go bad). The q3 has better IPD adjustment than the 2. There are battery and head strap options as you choose, not what your stuck with. For MR, inside out tracking, smaller from factor, pancake lenses, hand and soon full body tracking, eye glasses adjustment, color pass through is a great deal. 512gb ($649 with AAA Asgar2 enhanced and 6 months free games) a no brainer for me, I'm very satisfied, El Cheapo
