🎶Hello Musical Friends! 🎶 🎼Do you think Sibelius will fall at some point? 🎼What and when do you think will be the downfall of Sibelius? 🎵Make sure to leave your thoughts in the comments below! 🎵
Musescore taking over sibelius may be sooner than you think. With Finale closing up shop, those users are going to be looking for a new home. Dorico is recommended, but even with the reduced price point, it's hard to beat the free musescore. Just some thoughts.
I was already using Sibelius when MuseScore 4 came out. As soon as this upgrade came out, my first thought was that if they keep upgrading like this, other notation softwares are really going to have to put some major work in, or MuseScore might take them out of business. Sure enough, Finale just died, and although they didn't specifically say it, I would not be surprised in the slightest if MuseScore is what killed Finale. If Avid doesn't start putting in some major work, I honestly would not be surprised if MuseScore became more powerful than Sibelius. I bought Sibelius during MuseScore 3, but if MuseScore was at MuseScore 4 at that point, I think I would have just stuck with MuseScore.
@@derekkane4574 MuseScore is also doing a lot more to accommodate Finale users and let them use something similar to a workflow they're used to. Dorico's workflow is completely different from anything else out there, much less intuitive, and takes a lot longer to learn. If there was ever a time for Dorico to start improving that, this is it; and they're not doing it.
As a MuseScore user for 20 years... It's Dorico/Cubase that's going to take out Sibelius. MuseScore lacks synchronization features that Sibelius/ProTools and Dorico/Cubase has.
Not as long as adding a page break causes notes from one measure to literally collide *into the notes from the adjacent measure*, or adjusting beams causes stems to disappear entirely, it isn’t. Let’s face it, MuseScore sounds pretty but is buggy as shit at this stage of development. Sibelius isn’t going anywhere.
@@tompw3141 I haven't submitted anything yet to MuseScore! However, I'll keep it in mind when I continue to work in MuseScore. I do want to see the program succeed!

Musescore is better than Sibelus
Not yet...but perhaps soon!
so what i'm hearing is that i should invest in musescore instead of sibelius
Invest in whatever program works best for you! I recommend becoming comfortable in more than one program if possible.

That is fair! I sure hope that MuseScore improves in those areas. If MuseScore and Sibelius improves we all win!
you can tell this to murescore. theyre very keen on fixing and improving their software.
I've never seen that happen when I add page breaks or adjust stems! Have you filed bug reports on these?
