Very pretty. Love the old basin and the cream colored pitcher. Do you shave your pups paws to keep cleaner? About time to shave my yorkies little paws. T y for inspiration. I don't have a sewing machine but I sew by hand like my MaMaw. Funny how we retain so much by our elders examples. Gardening, animal care, cooking, speaking, honoring God, treasure of beautiful small blessings, reading the weather. Who taught you?
Thank you! I have to wait until Humphrey is asleep and snip bits off with scissors a little at a time. My grandparents (who lived on Boundary Road) greatly influenced my love of a simple life. As for sewing, I'm not too sure where the influence came from...I have always loved it though. I also love hand sewing - I have hand-quilted most of my quilts. I find it very relaxing!
@BoundaryRoad t y. Sewing and mending is so calming. I've never made quilts but I have several my beloved grandmother maternal made and gave me. All by hand. So warm and soft

The bowl is George Jones and Sons and is similar to their Briar Rose design. It is different to this design though and I haven't been able to find the pattern I have. I think it's beautiful too ;-)
What was that ruler you used to flatten the hems on the curtain-to-be? It seemed to flatten the fabric as if it were hot! I LOVE your quilts. Utterly gorgeous. Everything you do is so lovely. :) I love your dog's name!
Thank you! It is just a metal ruler. I did two years of training as a soft furnisher and using it to set hems was suggested. I remember them suggesting this specific one as it is thick and not flexible.
Hi Claire, can you tell me what paint you use, inside & our, on your wooden sash windows please? I am struggling with mine as the paint keeps peeling off when the get any condensation on them. Thankyou and love your videos, so relaxing and inspiring. X
Thank you! I use Farrow & Ball Exterior Eggshell on the inside of our windows. We do have to prepare the surface as it's not one of the 'no prep required' paints.
@@gillianbunn6096 Ah, no - I use a different paint on the outside. It is called Jotun Demidekk Infinity. It has excellent durability and lasts very well in cold, wet climates. The drawback is that the undercoat takes two days to dry, but it gives fantastic protection so I don't skip that part.

What a shame to cover up such a beautiful bowl! Surely any old container would work as a planter? The arrangement is lovely, but I am sad at the wasted opportunity.
Hi there, I agree the bowl is very beautiful! It was used for a floral arrangement on our kitchen table and not as a planter. The fritillary bulbs only last about 7-10 days, so after they fade the plants get planted in the garden and the bowl returns to its usual place. We live in a cold climate and I find making floral arrangements with seasonal small plants better for the environment and the budget than buying flowers that have been flown in from abroad.

Can I ask that ruler that you are useing is it pressing the fabric as you slide it along.
Yes, it does. It doesn't press it as crisply as an iron but works well on soft furnishing fabrics.
