    Is this still the battle that you're not having with Pretty in Green? 😂 I do think that thai cons and any monstera really are the easiest asking with philo.
    I really like this 1-2 month suggestion. I acclimate a lot of tc for a hobbyist because I just love those little baggies of babes, and my plants do clearly take a bit of a hit when they're released to the harsh realities of 80-90% humidity-- especially the variegated.
    I think (no evidence) that H2O2 helps with agar removal. I do use it, and I don't see any of that black stuff or mold, so I'll just keep doing it.
    Now do this with amazonica green splash/ variegated. It's the first plant i can't get to thrive or if the bag. So beyond frustrated.😂😢

      im sure the hydrogen peroxide helps I just, if i do a second round id like to try and see if it can reduce the blackening! also i dont mess with alocasia they just upset me with their rollercoaster dormancy/alive stuff

    I've not tried TC yet and this is very encouraging. Other info made it look like you need a NASA clean room! 😊

    I wish steins would put their sad looking thai cons on sale I swear the one in my area just throws away the 'rare' plants instead of putting them on sale when they start looking sad great video I might try this instead of waiting for one to go on sale

      YO I TOTALLY AGREE, not only are they very low in variegation but they are still like 80 bucks and have outgrown their tiny pot. Ive found that the steins on capital drive in brookfield? has the best "as is" prices. its like the only plants I will buy. Moorland in waukesha will put stuff in the "as is" death zone for like 20% off lmao AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. They had a ton of Anthurium radicans x luxurians I was waiting for a good sale on be even in as is they were like 40 bucks! half DEAD. Im tempted to get a part time job there just to scoop em up lmaoooo

      Haven't been in the waukesha area in a while I'll have to check that out for sure here in Milwaukee it's just plants on life support at full price and maybe a few plants that are shooting off 20 plants at once cause of tc lol my best find was a verrigated epipremnum gigantum for 4$ it was just a node when I got it 🤣😭

    Yeah, I’m still not willing to pay $90 for small Thai’s at Steins. Maybe I’ll get a tissue culture. They seem bullet proof after all you put them through. Hope you and family are warm and healthy with this crazy Wisconsin weather.

    • @TechplantChannel
      @TechplantChannel  8 місяців тому

      yeah i would not recommend theirs, there are cheaper ones going around that are bigger and look better! plus many steins have thrip/mealybugs/spider mites within there plants. I brought home some nice friendly thrips from them lol

    I guess success rate is luck sometimes. I planted mine directly underwater (they were freshwater plants) and they just took off. I still have them but ironically as emersed plants in a terrarium today. Orchids, however, really need a sterile environment or possibly luck, since the ones I had died.

    • @TechplantChannel
      @TechplantChannel  8 місяців тому +1

      i have not done orchids! seems like a cool thing to try. I dont have great success with orchids in general tho so im wonder what my abilities are with them from a flask lol

    Additional question: have you deflasked much cormy alocasia? Are the baby corms sucking life from the big tc corm or helping? Should they be grown separately? (This is assuming the leaves are no present as well). I'm doing my own experiments, but I'm going in blind.

    • @TechplantChannel
      @TechplantChannel  8 місяців тому +1

      never tried, like i said in the other comment alocasia upset me with their dormancy. my basement hits cold periods that i swear are sending alocasias into dormancy so im just looking at a stump for like 3 months
