Jimmy was never a radio star, but he has LOTS of great songs - the kind that make you feel good and lift your spirits. Yes, he’s still around and still touring. He is a wonderful storyteller. Please try some more of his music.
Are you a Parrothead?
@@ANNEAVES absolutely!
I am now 37 and grew up as a Parrot Head thanks to my dad. Jimmy is an amazing story teller and just has this unique quality about him. Some of his stuff would probably be played on today's country radio truthfully. At the time though there wasn't any radio that would play his stuff, he was such a cross between country, rock, pop, and folk. He never could conform to one genre. Truly that is why he drifted and landed in Key West, the music scene there was just so unique, not conforming to anything. The things he has seen and done in his life, and is living to tell about it, that in itself is an amazing story (who can say they have crashed a plane and been shot at by a military force and lived to tell about it). Now that he is older he has created a business empire with his Margarittaville brand, and that just shows how smart he truly is.
I remember hearing come Monday on country radio in the early 80s, I was pretty young. Born in 78. He never had a #1 song until 5 o'clock Somewhere with Alan Jackson. Blew my mind finding that out. Saw him live in 1997 and 2012 at Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta. Probably the best 2 concerts of my life.
Jimmies gone now
"Son Of A Sailor", and "Cheeseburger In Paradise", are some cool songs by Jimmy Buffett
Yes!
Don't forget his classic: "Let's all get Drunk and Screw". LOL!
Yes
add Peanut Butter Conspiricy, Volcano, and A Pirate Looks at 40 to the list too. The list could go on from there as well.
Those are great songs.
Such an amazing song from my childhood!! 🙏
Y’all would love his most iconic song “Margaritaville”
Most Jimmy Buffett fans would never recommend Margaritaville.....
Thx! He is still kickin’! A lot of his fans wear cheeseburger hats because of his song “Cheeseburger in paradise!” And they like to drink margaritas!
More popular his fans are called Parrotheads and they have Parrot hats
Buffet has too many great songs to count! The entire 'Livin' and Dynin' in 3/4 Time' album is pure gold.
This song was my intro to Jimmy back in '76. Been listening to him since then. Lots of songs and he's excellent live. Usually, no warmup band because he's got plenty of Parrot head "hits". My favorite is "One particular harbor", which has Miss Nadirah Shakoor's beautiful voice on the backing vocals.
My favorite is "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw"
My favorite tune from Mr Buffett.
Love Jimmy Buffett! Such a great artist!
So excited you are reacting to this song!! One of my all time favs!!
I lived in Key West in the early 70's when he was just starting. There were 4 people in the club watching him...he's come a long way. He's supposedly worth close to $1,000,000,000 now.
Wow. Into the billions. The man is a genius. One solid number one hit "Margueritaville" and he turned into a 6 or 7 figure empire. He even had retirement communities. He and I are mid 70 Boomers. We're retiring now.
Definitely worth a ton
Jimmy is PRICELESS.
That was my 1st time hearing this too. I loved it. Beautiful ❤ 🎙 🎵
Have you guys listened to
LEON RUSSELL song
A SONG FOR YOU??
IF not please check it out you'll Dig it
This was my husband and my song when we were dating. He has passed away so thank you for doing this song. Memories.
Rip Jimmy. You are missed. Bubbles up
by far my favorite jimmy buffet song
🎶"Come Monday"🎶 ..... And again another person from part of my Youth has passed away. I'll try to not get wasted away in 🎶"Margaritaville"🎶 from hearing this sad 😭 news but not guaranteeing that on this Labor Day Weekend..... Rest in Heavenly Peace Jimmy Buffett 🙏🏽✝️🕊️🍹🥺😞💔
Parrot heads unite!
This came out during my sophomore year in HS and I was hooked - at least up until it became a spectacle - last show I went to, 2 drunk dudes just whipped em out and started peeing on the lawn. Another dude climbed up on the stage overhang at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View CS, got all of the way to peek over the top of the tent like structure - 100 feet maybe and then watched him slide back down and fall off the back side and the only thing that saved him was the tour bus. Still love the music
Mike Coggan -
I know what you mean! I first got into Jimmy my sophomore year in college (around 1972 - before even this song was released).
Followed him for years and saw him multiple times at small venues. After "Margaritaville" hit the venues got bigger and bigger and the raucous fans, the Parrotheads, began to take over, and I quit the concerts for the most part, although I still followed his music & career. Great guy. Great song writer.
He's still around.
This man puts on fantastic concerts he ALWAYS sounds better live than on his records. Hasn't had a hit in years still has sell-out shows. This is one of his best songs.
First time I saw Jimmy he was opening for Emmylou Harris. After Emmylou finished her set Jimmy came back out and the two of them played some music together. Just having a good time, he'd sing backup to a song she did, then she'd sing backup for him. Went on for about an hour. It was a beautiful night.
How about a 1973 Independent video!! Before VH1 & MTV or TNN
He has Margaritaville restaurants and 34 albums and 32 videos and hits.
This was filmed down just south of Key Largo in the Florida Keys..so chill, relaxed and pretty down there...it's 420 everyday
FYI Hush puppies were shoes. You can get something similar these dayd. Suede shoes with a soft sole.
IT’S FIVE O’CLOCK SOMEWHERE with Alan Jackson please! Jimmy and Alan
Beautiful song , great voice and so mellow
I love to watch y'all react to a good love song because y'all seem to be deeply in love.
Yay! I’m so glad y’all reacted to Jimmy’s earlier years…love it!!
Another Fantastic Jimmy Buffett song is a "Pirate Looks at Forty" it is rarely played on the radio but in my opinion it is actually his best song.
R.I.P. Jimmy Buffett, he’s gone to Margaritaville forever. 9/1/2023
Having a cheeseburger in paradise
A must hear, his signature hit “Margaritaville “
Welcome to the world of Jimmy Buffett! Fans of Jimmy Buffett are called “Parrot Heads!”
Yes, he is still around. High school friends of mine just went to a concert of his two weeks ago.!
oh, my heavens, you guys! Jimmy Buffett is one of America's greatest entertainers, and his concerts are unlike any other. His fans are called "Parrotheads." His "A Pirate Looks At Forty,) "He Went to Paris," in fact, the whole album "White Sport Coat & A Pink Carnation" is a classic. Our daughter Melissa (who is now 33) loved his music so much, we took her to a concert in Atlanta and she spent the whole time running around in a diaper and dancing. She was always a night owl and didn't sleep well, but that night, as soon as we put her in the car seat for the drive home, she fell asleep immediately, we drove 100 miles home, got her out of the car and put her to bed and she slept for 12 hours straight. We had a videotape of a concert Buffett did in Miami, with people surrounding the stage on pool floats, and she watched it every day. I can still see her in her little round pool float, drinking juice from a sippy cup in our living room. In her words, "I hate naps," yet she was always ready for one after watching that video. So many fond memories.
Possibly an autocorrect mistake, but the album title is "A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean".
The reaction of the hosts is so natural and beautiful. Thank you for highlighting my favorite Jimmy Buffet song. Rest in power.
Absolutely one of if not his best
Please review David Gray - Sail Away, Please Forgive Me, Babylon or This Years Love.
'The one I love' is a song I love by him too.
❤️ your reactions they are fab xx
I worked security back stage at a Jimmy Buffett concert and he is so humble, nice and just cool as hell!!
Worth 6 figure millions and wears shorts. Love it
My favorite Buffett song - good choice!
You should give his song He Went to Paris a listen. It's based on a real person from Louisiana
All those scenes of the Florida in which I grew up. Despite the fact that Jimmy Buffett was born and raised in Mississippi, we here Florida have claimed his as our own.
He's one of the most successful singers to not ever have a contract with a major record label. He did it all by himself.
I thought he was born in Alabama. Moved to FL as a young adult.
He is 76.
Jimmy said that he's never received any awards for anything he wrote. But with fans like PARROTTHEADS
It's reward enough
Unfortunately, Jimmy passed away a few days ago on Sept 1, 2023. Labor Day weekend. 😢 I was a wonderful performer and human. He will be missed terribly 🦜🎣⛵️🌻
Love Jimmy Buffett. A must review is an Alan Jackson song, It's 5 o'clock Somewhere. Jimmy joins Alan in the middle of the song.
wowwww....the film work of this video is bar none. Reminiscent of my hazy breezy sunny days of Summer of my youth
*sighhhhh*
Oh my gosh ya’ll! I watch you all the time and couldn’t believe when I saw you were reacting to Jimmy Buffet! He’s my all time favorite! And probably my favorite Buffet song! That’s coming from an old FL girl, 58 years old who likes all kinds of music!
Jimmy Buffett fans are known as parrot heads...Great party music !!!
You should check out “A Pirate Looks At Forty” “Changes In Latitudes” and “Cheeseburger In Paradise”
Those songs should start you down the rabbit hole.
Wow never heard the JB song. It was very beautiful and sentimental video & song. I had only heard JB's "Margaritaville Song". I thought he was from Key West, Florida.
I never saw this videowith Jimmy's narration, because he he's both touching partier, renowned. As usual your reaction is perfect!❤
You guys never heard Jimmy before? Seriously? Not even his #1 hit, 'Margaritaville'??? You must listen to it. So fun.
Not only is he still around he has a hit song. Well, it's actually an Alan Jackson song and it's from 2009, But "It's 5 o'clock somewhere".
its funny growing up in coastal Florida we always thought Buffett was just like our thing. Then I moved out of Florida and found nah people relate to this dude everywhere. It will always be one of my best memories though, just being on the boat off Clearwater, FL snorkeling for scallops and coming up to see my parents and their friends drinking and laughing with Jimmy playing loud on the boat
Jimmy Buffett/Cheeseburger In Paradise
Fun fact, the girl in the video is his wife
Jimmy buffet is still performing. If you haven't already, react to margaritaville. Another great song by Jimmy.
Jimmy is a cult hero. Fans like me are called Pattotheads, please go down his rabbit hole. I know you've heard of Marguerite Ville. You'd love so many. My favs are Miss You So Badly and A Sailor Looks At 40. At the time his songs with a few mild curse words but nothing compares to the F word every other word of the song. Please please more Jimmy and more David Gates (Guitar Man)
Tampico trauma Jimmy Buffett's best song Imo
thank you for the reaction. great as usual. Could you please do a song called "One more Day" by Diamond Rio? I think you will really like it. Very beautiful song.
This song was played the night on the river, in a friends boat, the day before mine and my husband's wedding day. That night before our wedding day, this song played on a clear, beautiful, full moon night, on a calm, lake view, pontoon boat ride.
He turned Margaritaville into 500 million dollars, lol. He was born in Biloxi bit he's from Alabama, went to Auburn 2 years, but he was not into college, I think he choose the right line of work.
Check out his song... " You call it jogging, I call it running around ".Funny!
Yes!!!. Beautiful song, react to Margaritaville
Fins- Jimmy Buffett is another more upbeat island feel banger by him. Message of Fins is funny too lol.
One of the few musicians who became a billionaire in his lifetime. His fans' the parrotheads, were among the most loyal fans of any musician ever.
Yes and still performing he has a lot of clubs called Margaritaville he has done songs with Allen Jackson and others
I don't like Jimmy Buffett period. But this song, it's so speial. I love it.
Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band is a deep rabbit hole that you could get lost for years exploring
Alan Jackson have a song together called its 5oclock somewhere
He is still around and owns the Margueritaville restaurant and hotel chains name for his most famous song Margueritaville
I know this doesn't have anything to do with Jimmy Buffet but ya'll have to listen to and see one of Home Free's new songs. "Ain't going down til the sun comes up" it blows the original out of the water and the original was fire! The video premiered on their FB so not sure if the actual video is on UA-cam yet but it's definitely worth digging for it!
Isn't that beautiful ❤ I first heard that when I was 14. I loved it the first time I ever heard it.
A cute guy walked up to me in high school because he heard this song playing and was curious who was singing. We have been married for years now and when he would deploy he would play this in the background when he was so many days from coming home. He couldn’t tell me exactly when due to security reasons, so this became our cue to start getting really excited.
Why do I find these type of music videos made with minimal cost more engaging than the high dollar productions? Maybe it says more about who the artist really is and less about who their publicist thinks they should be presented as.
One thing about his son's is that most of them have a really good back story that's based on something that happens to him. One of my favorite songs is Jamaica Mistaica, is about the time right after he got his pilot's license and he decided to fly down to Jamaica for some food and was mistaken by the government as drug runners and was almost shot down.
Jimmy Buffett was very poor when he started and now his net worth is $900 million dollars...
Jimmy Buffet has a lot of fans, who are known as Parrot Heads, because of his laid back Island sound. You get a taste of it in this video, but as you listen to more of his tunes you'll hear those congas and feel the vibe. He's really quite funny, which isn't really what this song is about. Margaritaville is probably his most well-known song and it's very witty. He's great at making fun of himself. Hanging out in a hammock with a margarita and listening to Jimmy. Ahhhh
His fans are known as Parrott Heads. Living in Florida heis everywhere here.
The multi-millionaire Mayor of Margueritaville.
Can't wait for you to go down this rabbit hole! He is Alive and Well!
Pirate Looks at Forty. You guys are great. Thanks.
Son of a sailor and changes in latitude changes in attitude
Been a Parrothead since the 70s. Yes he’s still touring at 75. Margaritaville is now stores, resorts, bars, cruise ship, etc.
would love for you to react to ..the power of love by Jennifer Rush
Check out( magnet and steel ) by Walter Egan

Y'all should check out his song, He went to Paris
This Parrot Head thanks you for this one. Cudo's to the Corral Reefers too.
One of the only Buffet songs I like. And I really like it.
RIP Jimmy Buffett. He wrote and performed so many good songs.

Please play Margaritaville ♥️ Jimmy
Back again. But can't give two upvotes.
Jimmy is still around and he even acted in an episode of the series Blue Bloods a few months ago.
RIP Jimmy Buffett 😢 Sail on
He is a great story teller! One of the greats is “He went to Paris”, but all of his songs are good.
It's 5 o'clock somewhere is a great song!
JIMMY BUFFETT passed AWAY
Had a place in the keys for a couple of years. We had great fun.
Another great backstory song by Buffett, False Echoes, tells the life story of his father, who was dying of Alzheimer's. It is similar in tone to an earlier work, He Went To Paris, which was inspired by older men he grew up around.
He went to Paris, great song!
Jimmy Buffett is one of the richest musicians at over $1B.
