you can use waboku on your turn (either activtae or rollback) and attack with mosquito, then attack with the rest of your monsters and sometimes its enough to kill him through that
Actually played Paleo myself at locals today. Went 2-1 and got 2nd overall (a fair number of regulars are taking a break cuz of the format). Don't know if I'm gonna run it back next time, but I'm definitely updating it after watching this. Also, a card that I tried is Frozen Soul. You mention how you use Waboku over TRoar since you can use Waboku on your turn, and Frozen Soul can be used on your turn as well since it skips your opponent's next BP. It sounds weird but hear me out:Golden Lord. People often don't remember it,but the summon from hand is optional. It takes two spell/traps to use,but it is a recurrable removal spell you can have to remove floodgates or break boards,and if you prefer to have the body you can choose to summon it and it's really big and helps you get over stuff
I think the swap package with mirror mage needs to be tested tho bc it interacts nicely with the new dragon boy. New dragon can theoretically bounce the spell giving you infinite free aqua monster summon.
Josh, since you asked for more weird tech picks for Paleo: Mana Dragon Zinitron is also a card that could work in Paleo since it can special summon itself from the hand or gy everytime one of your spells/traps got destroyed or banished by your opponent, it's a lv. 6 dragon and once it was special summoned by it's effect, you can set a spell/trap that is in your gy or banishment. Whit that you could get some banished Paleos back or a important spell in your gy. With this card and Magicolloidal, you can synchro into a lv. 8 monster which could be Cyber Slash Harpy that also baunces or Graydle Dragon or my favorite, Enigmaster Packbit. Packbit can set one monster from your opponents field to the spell/trap zone or one of your monster from the gy. If you have Packbit in the Spell/trap zone you can special summon a monster that is in the spell/trap zone. Enigmaster in that sense is a counter to Flamberge Dragon and if you choose the Dragon Soldiers for example, you can special summon them and have a extra body to xyz or link off.
I dont think Mana Dragon is a Paleo card. Sounds to me more like a Tear card. Maybe even Paleo Tear. This also could be part of an infinite combo pile which I like. Thanks for bringing this card up
@@aetherwolf9288 Thank you but i explained his effect in a way that could be misleading. Mana Dragon only triggers if your opponent banishes or destroy one of your spell/traps. But i use a one- off Mana Dragon in Labrynth and it comes up a fair amount of time. THis card could also help Tear because it can help you to go into something like Chaos Angel.
Haven't tested Vulmina yet, but I have been teching "Piercing the Darkness". It's a spell so not crazy trap synergy but it basically reads; once per turn if you summon a paleo, draw a card. once per turn if your xyz monster battles and has a paleo material, honest. Its kinda cute to get over big monsters with something smaller like anomalocaris and its funny when someone thinks they can beat over something like opabinia or zeus. I've also been playing 2 dominus purge, I know it can lock you from water dark and fire effects but just dont use it from hand. treat it like a normal trap and its fine. even better when you can do it twice to tenpai via rollback cause it also destroys the searcher (ie; Sangen Summoning, paidra) which stops protection and extension via chundra respectively.

Balance is so good. I’ve been messing around with Labrynth Archfiend and Loris. And I set Staunch defender with the Lab, so they have to attack her. Fiend comedian, and magical hats are good too.
I'm doing another trap deck. Except with CONTINOUS traps the new cards go hard especially with rabbit link 2. Just reoccurring synergies with a card called junk sleep. Makes for a busted loop. Cool to also see the pendulum dragon works for my deck too. I totally overlooked that card.
@sparkdshark9159 you use the continuous trap (Junk Sleep) Each endphase, it changes all your monsters to face-down defense position. Trap monsters become reset if they would go face-down. So cards like apophis/ and anguish statue you can continue to resummon and negate/destroy many cards a turn.

I've been trying Vulmina on my Trap Monster Deck. It's really good, just as with Paleos, but you can only draw it, since I don't play Soldier Dragons. Trap Monsters are still a cope deck, it's quite bad, yet they're starting to get cards to make them good, slowly but surely. Hopefully one day they can be as cool and flexible as Paleos are.
Tech Pick: Slifer + Slifer trap. If you have reasoning, grass, etc. Dumping it and rollback leads to a slifer floodgate 6K attack, and up to 6 new cards in hand which could be further stronger with Opabina.
This deck looks awesome, have you ever looked at Paleo Dino? Lost World protects your Paleos, popping a Baby during damage is pretty nice, Survival's End + paleo = Rank 4. Survival's End also gives you layered interaction.

Hello josh~ I want to show you a good idea about traptrix paleo. Traptrix Myrmeleo + any Paleo card could make Opabinia in T1. It's really strong, and doesn't need too many cards. I put 3 Myrmeleo, 2 Holeutea, 1 Cartorhyn in main deck, and 1Sera, 1 Gallant Granite in extra deck. The combo: Normal summon Myrmeleo, get Holeutea. Link summon Sera. Use Holeutea with 1 paleo card as cost, chain the paleo. Then Sera special summon another Myrmeleo from deck. Now you have 2 4⭐ monster, you can summon Gallant Granite, get Cartorhyn. Cartorhyn special summon itself, then we summon Opabinia with 1 paleo and Cartorhyn. This is a very strong combo . With a T1 Opabinia, you can use Marrella 2 times in T1, you know what it means. It also provides lots of resources, easy to end the game in T3.
You can get 1 more hole trap by Sera, I even didn't mention. The Holeutea in grave allows you special summon Myrmeleo in T2. If you get hand trapped, it doesn't matter. We can just play as normal paleo.
how is the tear/paleo proportions of your deck? the only ones i found were only using like 6 paleos and the rest is tear cards with needlebug,rollback and daruma cannon
@@loavprod my own list runs 8 paleos in 40 cards. You can absolutely run more but for when your playing a control style game Marella and Dinomischus are you’re best on field effects. Leanchoillia is a good 2 of cause it’s not always a live draw but useful to recycle rollback. Past those running like you said needlebug for mills and cannon to wiff battle phases helps make sure you keep the on field advantage, while the main goal of the tear engine (at least in the TCG cause of the Kit ban) is to make a recyclable 3k body that spins a card in kaleidoheart.

Making sol more accessible you could bring back mathematician and send back jack if you already have enough monsters. Maybe it's too slow but I still kind of like the idea of goddess skuld's oracle, I played that at a few locals back in the day and you get to never let them see a side deck card. People who play magic get it because they're used to the point where the control deck goes +2 Jace the game is over.
I would've suggested Totem Dragon for the soldier dragons package before INFO came out, now it doesen't work as well with magicollidal sol as it requires only dragons in GY (maybe try in master duel) Cartorhyn the Hidden gem of the seafront is a worse magicollidal sol (is rock, not aqua, worse conditions to self summon, no xyz/synchro during opponents turn)
A tech that I think would be quite strong is Exchange of Spirit. Sure its dependent on your opponents deck and you don’t want to open it, but once you can resolve it you auto win. Maybe you could play Banquet of Millions as well for an high risk high reward otk.

you could play crystron quandax you use sol and any paleo on your oppents turn you can then use quandax and any number of paleos to go into even syncros
I was on Paleo Tear for a few days and I think it was actually weaker without all the traps. It had cool synergies like vivid tail bouncing Tear Kash to resummon multiple times, but it just felt harder to get to win conditions by just poking with Kaleido.

If your opponent calling the right number is the issue, then maybe siding it out games two and three would be better than cutting it entirely. Especially since the primary function of the card is to mill rather than to summon, and Sol is perfectly fine to get denied since it's good in the graveyard.
In general, Reasoning goes in this deck if you don't have too many level 2s. You need it to mill a decent number of cards on average. If it doesn't do that, it's a spell that barely synergises with the deck. This deck plays a high monster count compared to other paleo builds. It helps that some of your lvl 2s don't mind going to the GY, but there are still too many monsters for Reasoning to do its job. (edit - clarity)
@@spyro2002that's the REASONING (LOL) behind it, lol. The thing is you're still playing a low percentage of monsters and you may even reduce it further by adding spell/traps or cutting some monsters. Missing on the opportunity cost of running a pseudo grass which may end up into a +0 is huge. They may call 2 every time and milling dragons is a bummer. But you may also hit a blackjack which is a body or Sol which is a good mill. As ygo players we want everything to be hyper consistent. But some decks need some kind of help by embracing variance.

The way rise is worded, the targeted monster is the only one that can be attacked for the whole turn, not just until it dies, so it's effectively a scuffed waboku that you can use from the GY. And if your monster would be removed from the field anyway you can chain it to target it and at that point it locks out attacks completely.
I just don't get why you're not playing huge revolution instead of burst, it's litteraly the same effect with the capacity of handloop your opponents, or maybe you can't use it with rollback ? In that case if someone can enlight me that could be nice. PS : Sorry if my english is terrible, i'm french
i dont like the soldier dragons pac, i use 3 lilith on the deck cuz, she its like any trap going first, and makes reasoning better, i use 1 ipiria, 3 jack and, 3 lilith, with to much level 2 all times my op, declear level 2, they dont have the right answer
Paleo seems neat, but it is so painful to play against sometimes lol. Dragging out games with Rise To Full Height and Waboku makes me want to fart myself.

If you are activating a lot of effects you can add You're Finished, at best it's a board wipe and at worst it's a 3000 beater

I like this deck because it's still paleo, not a combo deck. It's just normal paleo with a "fast mode".

A tech that I think would be quite strong is Exchange of Spirit.
Sure its dependent on your opponents deck and you don’t want to open it, but once you can resolve it you auto win.
Maybe you could play Banquet of Millions as well for an high risk high reward otk.
The Soul is crazy, quick Xyz is something I’ve wanted for Paleo, and it being Level 2 means they must have had Paleo in mind when making this.

you could play crystron quandax you use sol and any paleo on your oppents turn you can then use quandax and any number of paleos to go into even syncros

I'd consider Big Burn due to not running a lot of monsters, but with sol helping so much, it's probably not as good
You have to try Paleo Tear.
In my opinion its stronger than pure paleo.
I was on Paleo Tear for a few days and I think it was actually weaker without all the traps. It had cool synergies like vivid tail bouncing Tear Kash to resummon multiple times, but it just felt harder to get to win conditions by just poking with Kaleido.

Why did you decide to cut Reasoning? Genuinely curious, since it wasn't brought up specifically in here.
If your opponent knows, what the deck plays usually, then they always call lvl 2 and you will mostly lose advantage
@@chrisszocker866But game one, in theory, your opponent wouldn't know what you're on if you activate the card turn one. If your opponent calling the right number is the issue, then maybe siding it out games two and three would be better than cutting it entirely. Especially since the primary function of the card is to mill rather than to summon, and Sol is perfectly fine to get denied since it's good in the graveyard.
This build plays too many monsters for reasoning to get consistent value especially because most of them don't want to be in grave
In general, Reasoning goes in this deck if you don't have too many level 2s. You need it to mill a decent number of cards on average. If it doesn't do that, it's a spell that barely synergises with the deck. This deck plays a high monster count compared to other paleo builds. It helps that some of your lvl 2s don't mind going to the GY, but there are still too many monsters for Reasoning to do its job.

The thing is you're still playing a low percentage of monsters and you may even reduce it further by adding spell/traps or cutting some monsters.
Missing on the opportunity cost of running a pseudo grass which may end up into a +0 is huge. They may call 2 every time and milling dragons is a bummer. But you may also hit a blackjack which is a body or Sol which is a good mill.
As ygo players we want everything to be hyper consistent. But some decks need some kind of help by embracing variance.

The way rise is worded, the targeted monster is the only one that can be attacked for the whole turn, not just until it dies, so it's effectively a scuffed waboku that you can use from the GY. And if your monster would be removed from the field anyway you can chain it to target it and at that point it locks out attacks completely.

I just don't get why you're not playing huge revolution instead of burst, it's litteraly the same effect with the capacity of handloop your opponents, or maybe you can't use it with rollback ? In that case if someone can enlight me that could be nice.

You cannot copy Huge Revolution. Rollback skips the cost, but not the activation requirement needing you to control the necessary monsters.

i dont like the soldier dragons pac, i use 3 lilith on the deck cuz, she its like any trap going first, and makes reasoning better, i use 1 ipiria, 3 jack and, 3 lilith, with to much level 2 all times my op, declear level 2, they dont have the right answer
