As a fellow apartment tenant, I definitely agree with you on a few things. 1. NO GROUND FLOOR. Security and safety is always a priority AND of course, rodents/bugs is just not something you want to deal with 2. NATURAL LIGHT. The more natural light the better. It sets a vibe for your space and saves you some money on your hydro bill 3. RENOVATED. That’s a big one for me too. Living in an updated space can really lift your spirits and make you feel happy to come home after a long day to a space you love AND happy to entertain family and friends. I think you wanted #7 (duh lol) but you sensible chose #4. Whatever you chose have fun in your new space!
Probably number 4. That’s the most realistic one price wise and it has lots of features that you wanted. Hope you’re happy with whatever you ended up chosing! I’m in the same process 😄
It's insane to me how much a tiny studio apartment goes for in NYC. I live in Houston tx and while prices are pretty high around here, you can still get 2bed apt for under $1500 in a lot of areas. And there's town homes and houses for rent as well. It just blows me away with the drastically different living standards we have across the usa.
Number 7 was amazing, but I am 99% sure you went for number 4. So excited for the next videos!! Have a great week girl 🥰

Number 4 😊 just had the best overall vibe. The view made the space so much bigger. And a proper kitchen with that stove for a studio 🤩 very nice. Can't wait for the reveal😃

But what really impressed me was how you were so focused on achievement and economy that you spent years content in a small place with the same simple--almost makeshift-like--furnishings.

I always wondered why you didnt move while the prices were down and everyone was moving, very cool to hear you instead got a better deal on the place you were in - so so smart, enjoy your new place you deserve it!
#4 . The view and lighting were amazing. I think that is important to you . I can’t remember the other amenities but I could see you in that one for sure .
One of the last two. Your most valuable commodity is time. In unit laundry saves you so much time.
So excited for you!! You deserve it but damn those prices..#7 is awesome, but I love that #4 view and it seems more practical. Best wishes I know you will make it work no matter what you decide!!! onward and upward!!

Apartment #7 - in my opinion is the best by far (not just by a small amount). The extra is 💯 worth it since you’ll be in that space for a good deal of time. Anyhow can’t wait for the big reveal and best wishes 😊.
I like #6 best but in the video #4 seems your best fit. It’s interesting to watch apartment tour videos and see each person’s pro/cons - what they deem as deal breaker features…I’m in the same borough but for me studio has been a deal breaker because I never have enough closet space for my clothing, I’d rather use the tiny nyc “bedroom” as a closet, and then I use the living room as a studio. I’d love to return to having laundry in unit, and would take that over a better view.

I would say 4 or 7, hoping for 7, but as you said that you already increased the budget once, so I'm not sure if you would increased twice. Besides that, I'm very happy for you. I've been following you for the past 3/ 4 years, so I know that it will be a big step for u. Congratulations, Daph.
My maximum without an elevator is two floors. The few stairs I climb, the better. I’ve lived on the second floor in nearly all the units I was in and that’s my ideal living situation. Views are a have though I don’t always get them. My current rent is about 3000 a month minus my rent co pay and I feel fortunate to have a place to live.
I think it’s 4, it’s amazing 🤩

I like Apartment 4. Has a squared living room, better than rectangle living room. Great view, bigger windows with a lot of sunlight coming in, more space to walk around. I'm guessing you're in Apartment 4. Toss up between 4 and 7.

I think you’re going to go with 4! I personally would’ve done 6, but I already have a full sized bed instead of a queen and a loveseat so I think my furniture would’ve worked better in that space.

Woww I just watched a few other videos of nyc apartament hunting and I still can’t believe these prices. And none of the apartments come furnished??! I’ll be moving to Milan and was looking at apartments there and the difference is so crazy even though it’s the most expensive Italian city. Like for $2000 you could get a fully furnished luxury 1/2 bedroom apartment with all amenities next to the Milan cathedral. I feel like no one would rent out an apartment in most of Europe if it didn’t have any furniture. Really strange how different it is in the US!

Put the TV to the left of the window what’s your wall space they’re still easy enough to see, specially if you get a wall mount that you can angle the arm!

#4 most likely. Great view, great light, within budget. #7 is out of the question as the flat no was shown in the video.

I think 7 was good but the hallway was narrow rather than wide like in 4th but ireallylove 4th it has view and its size waspretty decent.
You wanted an update and upgrade. Apt 7. It has washer and dryer which is something you will save money on to add to rent budget.

You were talking Dutch to your mom, I am Dutch bit live in SoCal in an apartment, yes the Rent is crazy everywhere for an apartment. I live in the USA for almost 45 years already. I like to think that you choose number 4, the view was insane, looked like a nice place,am curious which one you selected. Good Luck.

Great video! I just remembered paying $2.3k for a studio on 90 West St and thought it was outrageous. Can’t believe how much expensive it is now to get something decent.
First choice would be #5 and maybe #7.

@@selita90 NYC is a lot more expensive than LA though. If you must compare cities, it's closer to San Francisco in terms of prices.
