Chicago peeps REPRESENT 🙌🏽🙌🏽 this was so fun to watch. These areas are considered VERY high end and most Chicagoans can’t afford them. I would love to see you venture out into some of the residential areas of the city particularly North. It was so crazy to see the rental prices for some areas and how much they have gone up over the last few years. I used to live in Uptown and we were paying $1300 for a TWO bedroom. Now that’s the cost for a one bedroom in the area. 😳
Yes! This is downtown luxury apartments only like in the title :) I included the average one bed rent prices at the beginning of the video! I know Chicago has so many other amazing neighborhoods and cheaper options, we were just looking at luxury buildings for this video 🖤

My hubby asked me just this week if I knew what a „condo“ was, and thanks to you I could tell him. I could watch you telling me about rentals, houses, neighborhoods and the citizens for hours. Best of luck for your decision making, I want you to be happy.❤️
I will never get over how expensive apartments anywhere are. I hope one day I can get my own apartment. The ones right on the river were STUNNING! These were all beautiful!

Lol I think some of it is being jealous of the money but most of it is age jealousy...I had a great time in my twenties but it goes by so quick! I know you mentioned in one of these videos that it's not all fun and glamorous all the time and I know that but it sure is fun to watch and dream.
I’m an architecture student and I found out that one of my professors actually worked on designing the neighboring building to Wolf Point East, Wolf Point West. And it has a really cool gym located at the top of the building giving great views of the river and city.
There are so many luxury apartment buildings here it’s crazy! I bought a condo but I cannot work from home and my family is here so it makes sense. I’d highly recommend finding a building close to an L stop if you don’t have a car. it makes exploring the city so much easier and less expensive than having to catch Ubers all the time. Buses are less reliable and are subject to the weather so the L is great!
Girl, if you thought spring was impressive...wait for summer! Summer in the city is legit magical. Chicago really is a great city - did you notice how CLEAN our city is, too? Happy hunting!
@@adrianna_91 Your ignorance is showing kiddo. I've lived in every major city in the United States and Chicago is one of the cleanest and most beautiful cities. You sound bitter and afraid, if that's what you were going for with that comment, then you definitely accomplished your goal. Stop watching Faux News, it isn't doing you any favors.
I love this series. Taking us along to see what kind of places you can get for different prices is fun to see and also makes me appreciate the house/home I have. I also wanted to let you know that I LOVE your makeup and hair in this video. Bright, fresh and natural looks so spring/summer.💗💐💗
Chicago is a great city to live in. Especially for someone your age. There is always something to do, even when there is nothing to do. I think its definitely a place to consider. You can always catch the blue line to O'Hare and fly to New York to visit for the holiday season. I was born and raised in Chicago and this video is absolutely making me homesick.
My niece moved to Chicago from Phoenix for college and she never moved back. I also have a friend who moved from Seattle to Chicago when she got married. Everyone I know who's been there loves Chicago.
Also, I never knew luxury apartments offered these many amenities, I had thought most offered a gym, great view, and garage parking. Idk if I’ll ever be able to afford an apartment of these caliber. I grew up living in a one bedroom apartment (with no living room or dining room, it was basically a small kitchen, 1 bathroom, small bedroom, and a carpeted area to sit on) with 4 people; anything better than that is truly a blessing for me. Im blessed to have a roof over my head, clean water, and good food on the table.
I so enjoy seeing the different places you go. My dream is a house in the woods, so it’s really cool to see things from someone else’s eyes. Thanks, Taylor!
Thank you for showcasing our beautiful city. Chicago is so often overlooked. I love the diversity here, the food, and our views and skyline are some of the best in the country. So glad you loved it.
Who overlooks Chicago ? Chicago is literally one of the most famous cities in the world for Food , Music , Sports , Architecture , Schools , Downtown , Skyline , Riverwalk , Lake Front , etc etc...
I love visiting Chicago. It’s one of my favorite cities ever. I live in the Midwest, but I don’t make enough to afford these luxury apartments. I love living vicariously through you with these awesome travel videos!
Keep in mind that they do full on light shows on the Merchandise Mart, so you'd need really good curtains to block that out, when needed. If you're still around, that building is not too far from where the Eastland Disaster happened on the river. There's a plaque that commemorates the site at Wacker and LaSalle. I did a haunted tour a few years ago and they say the spirts quieted down after the plaque was installed, 85 years later.
Thank you for highlighting our beautiful city! I’ve lived in Chicago for 16 years in several different neighborhoods and I currently live in River West / Fulton Market / West Loop. IMO, it’s the best of both worlds - the luxury buildings, great views and close proximity to downtown, but with a bit more personality and neighborhood feel. Best restaurant neighborhood in the city, too.
I love love love Chicago. I drive there from Cleveland once a year just to stay in a cute hotel and do all of the tourist things. And honestly, they never feel 'touristy'. The culture, the architecture, the water, the parks, the food... all great. And as far as winter, you don't have to drive anywhere since you work for yourself, so you can relax and watch the snow fall! It's beautiful.
It's crazy how beautiful Chicago is. As someone who doesn't live anywhere near there, everything you hear about Chicago is always crime and violence. You'd never know it was so nice based on that.
For the price points, I would’ve expected bigger apartments. The rooms just felt like they’d be incredibly cramped after furnishing them. Also, I’m so glad that cost of living is fairly low where I’m at. Luxury apartments start around $1200 for a 1 bedroom. You could rent a really nice sized house for a few thousand a month
The small living rooms made the spaces feel a bit like hotel rooms to me, rather than someplace you would kick back and feel cozy in. But the views were amazing. I'd like to see apartments that aren't in luxury buildings. It's a beautiful city for sure.
@@leannschaffnit7376 definitely has that dorm hangout and socialize in communal space vibes. I love it! I'm not so active in attending social gatherings but if it's just at my apartment building I'd be all for it.
I have seen all your videos of your potential cities and you can not stop smiling in this one!! Not hard to understand why. Chicago charm is maxed all year round. The people are friendly, hard working, and tough! Hope you have more clarity soon 💙
I’ve lived in Chicago all my life. Going downtown is something I never do. But the first place was gorgeous! The view of the river was amazing. But above all, I need a bathtub!
First I want to say that I think anybody who is a follower of this channel would say: "Bring us more real estate, make up, and bomb food spots!" So.... yes please continue this series! I also am amazed at how expensive even the cheapest apartment you showed was, and that's just rent. Most places have home owner's association dues and all sorts of other costs/expenses associated with them. My best friend lived in Lincoln Park for several years and I always LOVED visiting Chicago. It really is a beautiful city. The apartments with the river views were to die for!!
I absolutely LOVE Chicago! To me it is the most beautiful city anywhere. It is nowhere near perfect I know but it is home and I’ll never give up on her.
I live in the suburbs. My daughter’s first apartment was in Lincoln Park and was a 10 x 10 studio. She could lay in bed and get a beer at the same time. But she loved it. It was what she could afford fresh out of college. She has since upgraded. She moved to the theater district next and the building had the amenities you talked about. Chicago is a great city.
I love reading all the positive comments about Chicago but I have a somewhat different perspective. I was born and raised in the Chicagoland area - all of the counties that "collar" Cook County that is Chicago. I lived in the northern area of Cook County - Hoffman Estates, Palatine, Inverness, etc. I moved to Chicago, specifically Horner Park, and lived there for three years. I absolutely LOVED it. I had a 1 bedroom apartment that was huge and was pretty low rent wise. Then, I moved several blocks west to the Irving Park neighborhood and lived there for three years. That's where I saw a difference. Some gang activity that grew in amount over those 3 years. Definitely stick with the downtown area of Chicago and please don't let this weird but tragic situation at the Bean scare you off. The winters can be hard. I have chronic pain, fibromyalgia and some other things that make winter very hard for me. But if you have all those great amenities then you wouldn't have to leave often, during the winter, unless you want to. Please take my review with a grain of salt. Wherever you land will be the right place for you.💜💜💜
You have great options if you end up choosing Chicago! I live in the lakeshore east/new eastside area and love it so far! I’ve been in Chicago btw for almost 4 years and have enjoyed my time here. Yes the winters can be draining but you get used to it. I’m originally from LA and have also lived in Boston and NYC before moving to Chicago so I know a thing or two about big cities. Most of the people here complaining or overly paranoid about the crime are likely locals/Midwesterners who probably have lived in a bubble their entire lives. Just be smart and mindful when deciding where and when you go out.😊
Chicago is a great city!! We live two hours away and visit frequently. It's so much fun and there's so much to do. The train is so good for transportation.
A lot of neighborhoods aside from downtown are super nice too in Chicago! If you’re into the downtown feel then the places you saw are nice. But if you’re open to other neighborhoods I’d definitely check out the northern neighborhoods like Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Logan Square, etc
Do you see travel vlogging being something you transition more into as you are older, have a family, etc? I thoroughly enjoy ALL of your content. The lighting, your makeup & hair are 🥰
Super cool, I worked with Caira who’s a leasing agent with Compass and she found me my apartment when I moved here! It was helpful to see what even nicer luxury buildings look like and what you’re getting for that price. Would love to see prices for each individual apartment too! Great video overall 😊
I visited Chicago a few years ago and fell in love. I'm not in the position to move, but if I was Chicago would be at the top of my list. Loved the overall vibe.
Yep our property taxes are terrible. I live in a house in the suburbs and I think in another state they’d be like a quarter of what ours are here. And I worked at a property mgmt co a few years back, one of the HOAs we managed had fees of $1000+ per month. It’s crazy because I don’t understand how so many people afford this stuff.
Lovely to see how the other half can live:) living in the city 15 yrs and there are millions of awesome places that don’t cost that. You are paying for the posh and the amenities so, for anyone else looking…..you can find for less and the neighborhoods are awesome
Loved this!! I could not believe the amenities on these apartments! In my area you're lucky to find a pool! So cool to see the variety from city to city.
I have loved Chicago my whole life, as a Wisconsinite with a ton of family in the Chicago area, I used to spend a lot of time there. I would love to move there someday.
Yes, please continue on with these real estate vlogs, they are so interesting to me. I liked Apt. 8 the best, that south loop area looked really cool but they all had pluses & minuses! Also, LOVE your hair that way, it looks so good wavy/curly
This video made my heart smile to see my beautiful city being showcased for the world to see. BTW these new buildings are fun/modern but there's nothing like the older buildings that hold the history, the architecture charm and authentic beauty.. Chicago Chicago my kind of town!!!! .... I Love you Chicago
I'm in Victoria, BC and most of those rental rates are actually cheaper than people pay here for our downtown condos, and our buildings don't have nearly the same amenities. I've always wanted to see Chicago so thanks for giving me a glimpse of how people live there. 🥰🇨🇦
Yes, plz continue the apartment/house hunting videos. That's one thing I love doing when I go to a new place. It's crazy doing it in the Caribbean when we're on our annual cruise. Prices can shock you - some are jaw-droppingly high and others are pretty comparable to FL! Hey, I'd move there!!!
Welcome to the city! We just bought our first condo here and I would have to disagree with you about purchasing vs renting here. The neighborhoods make all the difference. You basically just stayed in the "downtown" area, but you can get some great places outside of those areas, not a lot of people can purchase in those areas you looked at! In the neighborhood we were looking at, mortgage payments vs rental payments were becoming equal amounts of money, so it made sense for us to find a long-term condo!
I was living in the suburb of Harvey for a while. We decided to move to downtown Chicago. Very nice condo and it is on the 18th floor. Very fun and happy I moved to downtown Chicago.
Chicago is such a wonderful city! What I love the most about the city is the art, music and theater opportunities. I'm a violinist, and went to Chicago to try instruments when I was buying my "career" instrument! However, my chronic pain is worse when the weather is cold, and you know how the winters are there!!!🥶
so fun to see you loving on Chicago so much. it gets a not great rep but when you are out and about with the tall buildings and lights and beautiful weather, there is just something magic about it. even when it's snowing, something about the lights just makes it feel warm
It’s so cool to see apartments around the states bc I know I probably won’t live there, but it’s so fun to see what to expect if I did. Love your content always! 😍
my favorite was apartment 4. the idea of white rope lights wrapped around that large stone pole in the bedroom paired with the beautiful view of all the city lights at night would be magical.
Go Chicago - my hometown city. Now is the perfect time to view the city at its peak. Summertime is amazing as well. The winters can be cold & depressing but the beautiful views downtown totally make up for it!!! There is always something to do here! Welcome Taylor!!!
Chicago is a wonderful, cosmopolitan city-I grew up here, have lived in other countries and still find new things to discover and explore. Very livable but yes, the weather is challenging at times, yet we all really appreciate the change of seasons! People are down to earth and open. I think you'd like it here Taylor!
The type of apartment shown at the last location is a Convertible. Sometimes it’s referred to as a Junior 1 bedroom. Usually the lack of a closet in the sleeping area and/or possibly a door distinguish it from a 1 bedroom. As you discovered sometimes the closets off a hallway in a convertible can be much better than 1 bedroom closets. Thanks for sharing the apartment tour!
Lived in Chicago suburbs for 10 years, downtown living on the river is the best place. Moved to Phoenix 3.5 yrs and miss downtown but not the winters. The property taxes are insanely high but Chicago is the best town for entertainment, shopping, restaurants. Love and miss it!
Chicago is a wonderful city - first place I moved as an adult and stayed for 7 years. Have lived away for about 5 now and would gladly move back. Winters are rough, yes, but it's still a beautiful city!
This was SO much fun to watch! I love looking at houses and apartments just to see the layouts and decoration etc! You should keep doing this just BECAUSE!
Yes! I absolutely love your apartment hunting videos. I love seeing what's out there in cities across the country, and Chicago has been on my radar as far as places to live for a long time. Glad you're enjoying it!
Yes! More apartment hunting vids! Makes sense to have all the amenities because of their winters. Gotta have something to do when it's crummy outside! Looks like a neat place but I'm from Southern California and I'm light weight when it comes to the coldness!
Born, raised, and worked in Chicago, I love my hometown. You would have more fun in Wolf Point East because it's location is very walkable to so many shops, restaurants, theaters, music, bars, and transportation. Yes, the winters are tough but the city stays alive no matter what and you'll always find a place to warm up!

I'm so excited to watch this vid❣️❣️❣️ Thank you for chronicling your nomad journey. They have been my favorite thing to watch on UA-cam for months 🤩🤩🤩
when i started looking for rental apartments in Chicago, was surprised to see the prices. they felt really affordable for the quality of the apartments. Here in Boston, 100yr old mice infested apartment would cost more than what you pay for in chicago high rise new units with tons of amenities.
Having an indoor pool, pool tables, workout with awesome view, working pods is a huge plus! Thanks for showing us arond. Most of the options were so cool! Haven't been there in years but still have cousins who live there.
I love these videos, please continue making them. I'm from MI, now living in TX, and while I don't miss the winters, I miss everything else about the midwest. And, thanks for including the lipgloss you are wearing, I absolutely love it!
This is your jam!!! Love these videos in addition to all the other expert trades you share. I’m across the lake from you in West Michigan but lived in Chicago, my son was born in Chicago. In my younger days living in west Michigan we would leave at midnight to gain an hour and hit the clubs. We’d finish when the sun was coming up with a sausage food truck outside Wrigley Field. Everyone is so friendly in Chicago. Looking forward to your Chi-town vlogs 😘

I would worry about how you’d feel in the winter! I know the cold triggers me and Chicago gets a whole different level of cold. Thanks to lake affect it’s a normal thing for the temperature to be below zero in the winter.
Agreed! I live in Wisconsin and it feels like my bones are frozen. The ONLY thing that warms me up are hot baths so a tub would need to be a MUST for you (Taylor)!
those HUGE windows!! i was thinking how BEAUTIFUL it would be to see it SNOWING from there!! sounds so truly lovely. Winter and early spring is ROUGH in chicago. I have migraines and allergies and suffered a bit less in chicago then I did in kansas, missouri and nebraska however. i think i liked the cold and show, just not so much the WIND . it is the windy city for sure!
My dad is from Chicago but considering the crime spike in Chicago I’d never live there even if rent were free, same reason I left San Fran, although the food in Windy City is simply amazing!
Not me, a Midwest girl who lives in a small town in IN, thinking “oh those prices aren’t so bad” 🥴 Seriously though, Chicago is amazing. The people are so kind, the hustle and bustle is great but easy to get away from, it’s CLEAN, it has so many amazing opportunities for all different types of people. I really hope you choose Chicago!
I moved here in February. Every day I am more obsessed with Chicago. I LOVE IT.
I love Chicago spring, but Chicago in fall is just incredible. A Chicago Halloween is a dream.
LMAOO literally the dirtiest and rattiest city. You must be privileged and stay in specific areas.
Yes it is clean!!! And so vibrant in the summer!
I live in the UK, with no intention of moving or living in the USA. But I'm listening intently and hanging onto your every word. Great video. 💙
I love this series. Taking us along to see what kind of places you can get for different prices is fun to see and also makes me appreciate the house/home I have. I also wanted to let you know that I LOVE your makeup and hair in this video. Bright, fresh and natural looks so spring/summer.💗💐💗
Thank you! Glad you enjoy!!
@@ladywed2699 That is a good point, but just like any city or state, it really depends on what neighborhood you live.
Especially if you want to get shot running errands!
My niece moved to Chicago from Phoenix for college and she never moved back. I also have a friend who moved from Seattle to Chicago when she got married. Everyone I know who's been there loves Chicago.
I love how diverse your content is! We get makeup, fashion, travel, food and health with just one subscription and it’s so entertaining!!
I am someone who adores looking at apartments on Zillow just for fun, so I love this type of content!
I visited Chicago once and it won my heart. The city was magic.
That's why they've got all the other stuff. It honestly feels kind of like a dorm to me
The small living rooms made the spaces feel a bit like hotel rooms to me, rather than someplace you would kick back and feel cozy in.
Yeah i would want a two bedroom at least for that price. Where do you live with those prices?
i AGREE
Love the reaching for a beer comment! My first studio in LP was also tiny
Just be smart and mindful when deciding where and when you go out.😊
I really appreciate how you kept variables to a minimum (e.g. all have laundry in unit, all 1 bedroom). Super helpful! 💙
This. If you wanna live close to downtown and save some money look at the neighborhood ls alongside the expressway and/or train lines.
Great front row views of all the crime and looting!
Do you see travel vlogging being something you transition more into as you are older, have a family, etc?
I thoroughly enjoy ALL of your content.
The lighting, your makeup & hair are 🥰
You were truly here for our best week yet. It’s already cold and rainy here again! But when it’s good, it’s so good! ☀️🌃🌇
727 w Madison is an AMAZING building, I went to a graduation party in the sky lounge and fell in LOVE
My husband and I went to Chicago about 14 years ago. We both absolutely loved it! We really want to go back.
What areas do you recommend to look? :)
@@AyH25 I love Uptown, Lincoln Square, Andersonville, Ravenswood, and Edgewater. I lived in Wickerpark a couple of years ago and that was great!
I was living in the suburb of Harvey for a while. We decided to move to downtown Chicago. Very nice condo and it is on the 18th floor. Very fun and happy I moved to downtown Chicago.
I’m from NYC and I love downtown Chicago so much I’m hoping to move there in a few years I can’t wait
Chicago is such a wonderful city! What I love the most about the city is the art, music and theater opportunities. I'm a violinist, and went to Chicago to try instruments when I was buying my "career" instrument! However, my chronic pain is worse when the weather is cold, and you know how the winters are there!!!🥶
I lived in Chicago for several years just out of college. Best time of my life!
This is one of the best apartment tours that you’ve shown. I can see you staying there. ❤️
so fun to see you loving on Chicago so much. it gets a not great rep but when you are out and about with the tall buildings and lights and beautiful weather, there is just something magic about it. even when it's snowing, something about the lights just makes it feel warm
You are making me want to live in a variety of cities for like a year each. This has been a super cool series.
I loved getting to see 10 different places!! This series is fun to watch and can't wait to see the next place!
I can't believe how all these apartments look pretty much the same. And the prices are so crazy how does anyone afford to live in this city LOL
These are only luxury buildings! There are lots of cheaper options. But ya a lot of the newer buildings do look really similar across all cities.
I love Chicago too! The winter weather is fun! The downtown is second to none in beauty! Love these videos! XOXO Heidi
Taylor Ive been in Chicago since 2020 and during college and adore it! Granted I am from the suburbs of chicago but YAY im so excited that we are on the top of the list, Chicago is an amazing city!
Makeup and real estate are two of my favorite things in the whole world.
Yes, Please keep making these kind of videos 😘
Let's look in Dubai next 😉
Having an indoor pool, pool tables, workout with awesome view, working pods is a huge plus! Thanks for showing us arond. Most of the options were so cool! Haven't been there in years but still have cousins who live there.
I love these videos, please continue making them. I'm from MI, now living in TX, and while I don't miss the winters, I miss everything else about the midwest. And, thanks for including the lipgloss you are wearing, I absolutely love it!
Come back home.
I’ve never been this early! Haha currently in Chicago, about to start my own nomad travels, and I’m So excited!!! Luv ya girly! 🌯💙
Hey CHICAGO!!!
I’m from Chicago but not this part of Chicago, would be nice tho.
I’m thankful for the part I live in,no shame.
Good luck finding a place.
This is one of the best apartment hunting videos I've ever seen! I love how you hit the points quickly and didn't spend too long on one place. Thank you for this! I'm from Chicago and also love looking at places. Awesome!
I love these videos! Really interesting to see what is available in different cities and what is normal as well. Those amenities are crazy nice!!!
The amenities are so cool to me. Like free coffee? A work place without really having to go anywhere? Pool, gym, yoga?
I love Chicago! One of my favorite places to visit!
My dad is from Chicago but considering the crime spike in Chicago I’d never live there even if rent were free, same reason I left San Fran, although the food in Windy City is simply amazing!
Not me, a Midwest girl who lives in a small town in IN, thinking “oh those prices aren’t so bad” 🥴
Seriously though, Chicago is amazing. The people are so kind, the hustle and bustle is great but easy to get away from, it’s CLEAN, it has so many amazing opportunities for all different types of people. I really hope you choose Chicago! Winters can be cold, but you were in NY in winter and enjoyed it!
Me too! I live outside of Nashville, Tn and was really debating how awful the market is here
My best friend lived in Streeterville for the duration of her postgrad at Northwestern. She loved it!
Wowza!!!! So many beautiful spots!! I love having Chicago so close! It's two hours and you can basically enjoy the entire globe!!!! There's not a spot in the world that isn't represented!! Loving your hunts, too!! It's incredibly exciting and fun to apt/house shop!! I hope your health is doing well!!! Thanks for all of the great content!!! Blessings to you, Taylor! ✌️💚🙏
!
The hair, the makeup the gapirtual glow your exuding. I love to see it, you go girl 💜💜💜💜
As a Chicagoan born and raised, now living in Boston, I practically teared up watching this video. Chicago is hands down, the BEST place to live. Enjoy your stay!
I live in Chicago a block from the lake. I agree with you, Chicago is an amazing city and I love living here. It’s a gift! Good luck apartment hunting😊
It makes me so happy you’re loving Chicago Taylor! You should explore some walk ups/brownstones in the Lincoln Park/Lakeview area. Lots of charm!
