I have no clue where these came from, but they are certainly squashed!
This T-63HCp has the infamously annoying “Bottom end first” software, which seemed to get confused here. The T-710 accepted the returnable with no trouble at all.

Starting with this video, i will be adding a pinned comment explaining what everything is!
Q: What is this machine called and what does it do?
A: A reverse vending machine (RVM). These machines take empty bottles and cans and allow you to redeem them for a receipt. This receipt can then be cashed out or used towards your purchase at the store.
Q: Where can you find RVM’s?
A: Most grocery stores have them. Supermarkets also usually have them. In some places like Australia and the US, they have redemption centers full of the things. Keep in mind not everywhere has a bottle bill / deposit return system.
    Q: Are these machines reliable?
A: If cleaned regularly, serviced and maintained, RVM’s can last for decades. Some stores or machines have their quirks though, for example this store’s machines don’t take 7up cans.
Q: How does an RVM work?
A: There are 3 main types:
Spinners: These split the conveyor and spin the returnable round and round to zap it’s barcode before it gets sucked up and squashed.
Hoovers: These use a 360-degree scanner, like Tomra’s OneRing to zap the barcodes. Then they suck the returnables up and squash them.
Bucket Wheel Excavators: These use a singular wheel to scoop up returnables onto a conveyor, then the process is the same as the Hoovers.

Can we please have like an intro video about what these machines are. I think I get the gist of it, it’s like if the junkyard was a vending machine 😅

They’re known as reverse vending machines, it’s exactly what it sounds like. You stick the empties in the tunnel, they get sucked up and squashed, and then it prints a receipt you take to the checkout and either cash it out or use it to discount your purchase at the store.

@@TruckFan542 do you know why they have to be in tact if they will get crushed anyways? I want to assume it’s fraud avoidance. But wouldn’t it have to be the same material anyways? So it would sort of be no different right?

@@spray_cheese Sometimes you’ll get returnables hat are quite smashed up to go through. They usually only sneeze out the really flat stuff.
