As someone who’s never worked in fast food, but has worked in many restaurants, I’m surprisingly shocked at how the kitchen operations are ran almost identical to fine dining restaurants in terms of vocabulary, equipments, stations, people, and cleanliness. It gives you more respect for these fast food workers when you understand that what they are doing is not far at all from a real restaurants . I feel like there’s just so many stereotypes
It's like $16 here in the North East for a 10 piece chicken nugget meal and a cheeseburger. Go to Wendy's the prices are way better. Like 1/3 the cost. Maybe not quite as much food but you can still get a meal for $5 with those biggie deals. I got a cheeseburger, a 4 piece chicken nugget, a small fry, and a coke the other day for $4 and some change.
I stopped buying fast food about 5 years ago. There was a time when it was reasonably cheap for a quick snack on the way home. Now it is too overpriced for this botton of the line quality slapped together by unmotivated minimum wage teens. I can get real food for a fraction of the money if I prepare it myself.
the mcdonalds app is basically essential for getting those old prices back, it sucks because i know the workers hate dealing with the app and other online orders.
It's on camera that's why. I don't order from my hometown Macca's because it looks like they vomit in the bag. I head 50kms away for it. Where they actually make it properly.

i fill them to the brim myself too, i love the fries from mcdonalds and hate receiving or giving bad portions, on the ice creams and on the fries i make sure to always give as much fries as i can or some extra topping, feels good
for me it’s fries. One time I was in McDonalds & we usually have our leftover hash browns disposed at 11am. But one time, I saw there were still hash browns sitting on the food warmer at 11:05am. I asked one of the staff if I could have all of them and they said yes! I was lucky that day! 🥳🥳
Our family/parents are franchise owners (SW US)with 2 outlets and during highschool and university used to work there. These videos bring back those days, its still the same but a bit different with all the newer gadgets etc. 2 of our siblings took over and others moved out of state, for moi went in the army and now in LE. Now days my own family and I don't even eat any fastfood (yes pack a lunch on my motor each day) but after watching may just go home and stop by the restaurants again. Thanks for sharing!

at one point mcdonalds did do all day breakfast in the US, but they stopped it as it wasnt as popular as they hoped and it kept getting confusing in the kitchens supposedly

my former coworkers (from my time at mcdonald's) and I all agree that everyone should work at least a week in our shoes before trying to insult us or attack us over issues with their orders or items they want not being available. Also, I should have never let myself bee too good at my job while working there, because they made me do everything.
i always wondered why they don't just give the stuff to the next customers in line that ordered breakfast or who ever comes after the cut off time. i would definitely take some left biscuits or something don't eat pork anymore but a good biscuit isn't to bad for you considering the options here

As someone who works in fast food, we use paper bags to fill our fry vats. We dont have someone on fries 24/7, we are a decade behind. Seeing how satisfying this is makes me want to sob

We don't give it away because it would contribute to high food costs. It becomes a difference between "wasted product" to "missing product" - where it's essentially unknown food cost because it wasn't sold, or wasted. So, we don't do that for that reason - that, and, if we were to sell it (as would be a good suggestion), order-takers figuring out what is left would just take way too much time and slow down the line. - McDonald's crew trainer

This channel is absolutely awesome! I've never worked in fast food. Worked in hospitals all my life, including dietary in my early yrs. Never really knew what all it entailed. This is so informative and educational. The fact the owner gets in there! That's how it should be. Guarentee, none of my "ivory tower higher ups" got in the trenches. Help a sick patient????🤨😳😖 hell to the no. Make plenty of rules that are useless to the real workers ( nurses,) but actually deal with reality, nope. This is how it should be across ALL employment. No one should ever become the head of a hospital without a medical or nursing degree, plus 20+ years bedside experience.Things would be a hell of a lot different!

It’s for inventory, all food waste has a specific bin it goes into and it’s counted by closing manager at end of night to keep count of inventory. If it isn’t sold, and isn’t in waste bin, then in inventory it’s going to seem an employee ate them or something along those lines

Coming from someone who worked for Mcdonald’s for 5 years, this was my least favorite station to work on. It was soo hot, and you’d be smelly and your arms all covered in salt and grease not matter how much you washed you’d find salt on you later.
I really liked this video. I am always curious how people can be so kind and friendly when the kitchen seems so hectic and high stress to me. I always try and be kind to the employees too because I know people that have worked in fast food and done really well afterwards. One of the top computer guys at University of Florida used to work at McDonald's and then a local pizza place as a cook when he was in his teens and in college because his family did not have much money. People working in fast food are way more appreciated than you know! Not just for what you do everyday but for what you will accomplish in the future. One of the local managers at a Wendy's where I live now just got a business degree and is trying to chose between multiple very good job offers. She is also already married and has a kid. I admit I feel a little jealous because I think she did better than me in life. (I have a high tech job)

Worked at mcdonalds on and off about a year and can still hear the fry station noises in my head and still know how to do it always stressful when you run out of fries and need to go to freeze during rush to grab more

Definitely just ask customers if they want free hash browns instead of tossing them.
My guess is they know they don't have enough extras for everyone and some Karen misses out and throws a fit and they just don't want to deal with it.
