Well said Colin ... I live my life (nearly 76) based on three values ... Blessings, Gratitude and Thriving. I feel blessed to be alive and well in my senior years, with no chronic illnesses, not dependency of prescribed drugs, and generally physically, mentally and emotionally well. I feel grateful for my wife of 49 years on November 9, 2022, for my 2 children and their spouses and my 4 grandchildren, for my dear friends around the world (as an international trainer and coach, I have presented to, trained and coached over 174,000 individuals in 55% of the world, authored 7 books in 11 languages) and connect with impressive individuals like both of you. At my age I am thriving as I work 1/2 time as a COO for northern Aviation company in NWT, coach 35 people on a bi-weekly basis around the world, help raise 2 of my grandkids, writing two more books. My goal in life is to be a better me. I love your approach to life and wish only happiness for you both.

Thoughtful intuitive young man. This is a huge project, building out your van, but I think you and Paige are on the right track. It is a much more difficult thing than one realizes to live an authentic life. When you are working 60 hour weeks selling your soul (and at times compromising your integrity) for a huge corporation, it gets to be a bit much. I wish you all the best and I am looking forward to this series.💛

Thank you, Crystal & Jaz, for the recommendation! Colin, your channel certainly doesn't have the "feel" of a new channel! Great cinematography and flow! Looking forward to watching your build!
Bolts spinning is a common problem, with an easy solution: you need someone trying to loosen the bolt, while the other person tries to loosen the corresponding nut. If you're working alone, put a long wrench on the top of the bolt, then try to loosen the nut from underneath. The bolt will spin at first, but with any luck the wrench will hit something solid (like the side of the van), stop moving, and you'll be able to remove the nut from the bottom. If your fasteners are rusty, Liquid Wrench Penetrating Oil is sometimes helpful for loosening things up. Good luck!
If you can get at the bottom of the bolts that are spinning, from underneath, spray them with PB Blaster Penetrating Lubricant and let them sit for a day or two. Get back under there with a socket and your breaker bar. It's going to want to turn counter clockwise when unbolting, so brace the bar handle against the frame or something else solid, with the socket on the nut. Then have Paige use the impact gun again from inside while you are holding it underneath. Should be able to break those loose if you can hold the nuts in place.
@@colinandpaige Sorry, had to re-think that for a minute. If Paige is above trying to unbolt with the impact, it is counter clockwise movement for her. So the movement underneath will be clockwise from your perspective. So with the socket on the nut, first spin the breaker bar clockwise until it hits again against some solid, then have her hit it with the gun. You are just holding steady against something solid, she's actually breaking the bolt loose with the gun. And be careful not to pinch your finger between the bar and what you are bracing against.
@@WaltFelix thanks Walter. We did try off camera without oil and it was a no go. We are going to try a few options including drilling the tops as some people I know recommended that! We will find a solution 💛

I use to do auto upholstery and the head liner and fabric upholstery always fall apart because of the heat. Heat will tear your vehicle interiors up every time. The only way to combat that is a garage or covered parking.

@@colinandpaige I actually purchased a cap for my truck and built it into a “camper”. I have gone out camping a few times solo (my other half doesn’t camp so I bring the dog). I built the cabinets and bed with drawers myself (past life was a cabinet maker/designer) and I have the creature comforts for short trips or trips to campgrounds. I would like to buy a van in the future and build it into a tiny home and do some traveling but a lot to sort out in my life before I pull the trigger..that and some money to do it of course. Currently working on starting a small remote business that will finance me if I do get to hit the road. I can’t fight the nomadic person I am forever. I work to live not live to work!
I will be tuned in to watch the build! We just completed our van build and one thing I would really suggest is to wear masks when ripping out and rebuilding!
I would cut through the bolt heads with your edge grinder. If you get a slightly thicker disc for it, you can cut the heads rather than grinding them off. Still a pain in the butt, but way quicker than grinding them.
Hey Colin, I'd recommend a cordless 1/2" DeWalt impact to replace that crappy CrappyTire impact: DCF899B. There are a few variants with different heads, which realistically make no difference to the end-user, but often go on various sales on Amazon. I grabbed one a while back and it has been superb. There's nothing it hasn't loosened (or broken, lol).
Gosh I’m so happy I’ve stumbled upon this channel! You guys are doing a great job already and I can’t wait to see what you guys do next, come to BC when that van is finished😊👊🏼
Loving this team, awesome content but even better production. maybe a quick trip to a mechanic shop to put it on a hoist or using a jack to get more clearance. One person underneath one in the van??? You look like you have the right tools. Also there is spray you can put on seized nuts. Love the philosophy and can’t wait to see you experience life. BTW thanks for the tips last week on places to see in Ontario
The Panini left a lot of us searching for more. For something beyond being trapped in a 9-5 within the same 4 walls day in and day out. We explored tiny homes, schoolies and van builds as options to get us moving around the world and experiencing life again in a situation where many are unable to keep up with traditional housing costs. For those who "wish you could do that!", what is it about van life that draws you in? Is there a way you can emulate that feeling in your everyday life?
These are all great questions! The pandemic definitely forced a lot of us to reflect on this. The hope is that people take responsibility for their lives, however they want it to look. Thank you for being here 💛

Wow thanks so much Cody! We will try our best to make longer videos in the future, a lot of work and editing goes into these little ones 😂 but with time as we transition away from regular work we will get there! Thanks for tuning in 💛
@@colinandpaige totally understandable when it comes to editing them haha! Can’t wait to see how the van turns out! Keep up the good work! 🙂🤙🏻
@@codybates1589 thanks buddy! Appreciate you taking the time today
Thank you
THANK YOU!
I'm right there with you about to do the same!
You can do it! Thanks for tuning in 💛
I use to do auto upholstery and the head liner and fabric upholstery always fall apart because of the heat. Heat will tear your vehicle interiors up every time. The only way to combat that is a garage or covered parking.
That makes so much sense. Thanks for watching Garry!
Your video are fantastic, looking forward to watching more ❤️
Thank-you so much ❤️❤️
Yay a new video!
Thanks for watching!!
Fun to see the tear down before the build out. Thank you for the perspective on figuring out what you don’t want in life before finding what you do want. See you next Sunday!
Happy to have you here 💛
Wohooo, your of to an excellent start. Congrats
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you're here 🤗
My fav UA-camr
WHAT ABOUT DAD
I haven't quit my job but I did sell my house and all the STUFF that I have accumulated over the years, and then I moved into my truck.
Heck yes! How are you feeling about it? We all want different things but I see so many people not open to change, I wish them all to explore what it all means for them. Thanks for being here 💛
I am so excited to see everything on this built.
You guy's are a great team
Awhhh thank-you ❤️
It’s funny I have been saying I refuse to live to work its time to work to live and enjoy life!
Debra, you can do it! It doesn't need to look like I'm doing, but whatever that thing that drives you, you should go for it 💛🤗
@@colinandpaige I actually purchased a cap for my truck and built it into a “camper”.
@@debraroth4724 love this so much! Nothing wrong with weekend get aways for now! Keep me updated on this adventure 🙂
@@colinandpaige will do! For now I will learn from living vicariously through adventures on UA-cam. Keep the content coming!
As beginning youtubers your videos are so inspirational. Excited to see how the build progresses!
Wow thank-you so much 💛 I'm glad you're here
Great Start!
Thank-you so much! I am glad you're here 🤗
Awesome video thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching Joseph!
Just started watching n so agree with what ur saying . I don’t want to live to work.
Thanks for watching Kate!
I will be tuned in to watch the build! We just completed our van build and one thing I would really suggest is to wear masks when ripping out and rebuilding!
That's a great idea, hindsight is always 20/20. Thank you for being here 💛
Don’t let those floors get you. SEIZE THE BOLT! Not the other way around.
Haha thanks Arlene 💛
Great job clearing out the van. Maybe you should keep the top cupboards as templates? Looking forward to the next jobs 😀
Thanks Denise! My Cabinet maker has me covered there 💛
Colin love your words of wisdom, & love to hear what you have say. You are inspiring

She's my rock. Thanks for tuning in 💛
Love the attitude man. Jaz and Crystal sent me over to watch your channel and I'm glad I did. Keep up the work!
Thank-you so much Danny! Happy have ya!
Been waiting for this! ❤️
Thanks for tuning in 💛
I would cut through the bolt heads with your edge grinder. If you get a slightly thicker disc for it, you can cut the heads rather than grinding them off. Still a pain in the butt, but way quicker than grinding them.
We might have to do this this week! There are a few options for us to try. Stay tuned ☺️
hey man i enjoy your videos, can w8 for the next videos
Thank-you for being here Maya!
Good stuff, keep it up!
Thanks for being here Monica 💛
Right behind ya, bud. In idea… not physically… :) great videos. Editing is beyond YT. 👍
Also, my cat says “wow” if you wanna share a cat saying wowwwww video :)
Thanks so much Nik! Beyond YT?! WOW what a compliment
Thank-you! I had to borrow this one 😅
Hey, Colin, Lefty loosey, Righty tighty. You were turning the bolts the wrong direction.
With the gun or the bar?
Another great vlog! ❤
Thanks so much Lynne! Appreciate you being here 💛

Thanks bud 💛💛
Me encanta tu sección de consejos
Muy motivacional. Felicitaciones! Tienes un admirador constante en mi. Veo las vanwifes y a ti seguidito todos los domingos.
Thanks for being here! Yes we will do something about those bolts in the next video 💛
It’s looking so good!! I can’t wait to see it all finished, so excited for you guys!! 🤗 subscribed 🤪
Paige says there are some power tools with your name on it 😜
🥰😊🥰😊🥰
😊🥰😊🥰😊
very bright wise head on those young shoulders...thanks for the entertainment also.
Thanks for being here 💛
Did you try WD40 on those rusted bolts? Also, try expanding the nut by.heating it with a propane torch, or both.
We ended up breaking them off or drilling the heads out! All fixed now :)
