Looks fun, easy and simple! Why iron the seams toward the white? I've always heard to iron the seams toward the dark? Without any nesting seams why would it matter? I'm very interested in trying this as a new quilter!

Either way will work. I didn’t write the pattern - just did a tutorial on it.

I'm making this right now. I am taking my time to rip any 2 pieces which are not aligned close to perfect as i see an 1/8 inch off adds up to a curved, or wobbly row of 7 colors plus the white half bricks. ( about. 14 seams). I'm going to iron all seams to the right also to reduce bulk when i flip a row to sew 2 rows together. I'm picking up the colors in a stacked order, all 7colors, and find the colors touch the same color above in a row now and then. Do i move it? Or just expect same colors to touch? Lots of repetion with this pattern.

I just leave it - I don't feel like it shows in the end...but it's totally up to you.

I'm very sorry - yes, it is 168 pairs total. The kit comes complete with the correct number of squares and rectangles to create 168 pairs total.
