Like your style BUD, no fancy pullers, no fancy cleaning and BS technical jargon like the other channels. I have this same saw and it's getting tired in the bottom end. I'm a keep running it knowing I can fix it on the tail gate.
I sure do wish that progress didn't mean unfixable garbage they produce now ... Thanks for watching.. stick around one of these days I will do a test start on the fresh build .
I did that conversion to one of my 266s, and it runs very successfully, pulling a bigger bar easily. One thing that didn't go as planned was the decompressor valve. When fitted it was difficult to set, as the handle got in the way. I finally did away with it and used a blanking stud instead, which does make it a little harder on the pull-start. I don't get to use it much as I have other saws, and not too many trees left in this part of N Wales now. . . .btw... I was worried that the 272 piston would be heavier and would cause dynamic balance problems. As it turned out it was 1/4 ounce lighter than the 266 piston, so no problems there. . . .
Subbed, thanks for the info! Just picked up an old 66 and looking to tune it up a bit.
Will a 266se convert to a 272 xp 52 mm big bore with not to many mods if so what mods would be required
I'm wanting to do a 61 to a 272xp conversion. This might help me!
372xp rpm max 13500?

I broke the blue plastic piece off and shaved the shaft a bit. Works good
