Thanks again for your advice. I have just ordered a 52mm kit to make it a 272 not because I hope to gain anything, but because parts are just more available. Great channel you have there buddy. Keep them going and I'll keep watching them.
Hello there, I'm having a hard time finding a 266se top cover, but I can find a 61 top cover and a 272 top cover on Ebay. I can also find a big bore kit 52mm quite easily. Will the 272 top cover bolt on a 266 bottom end?
Nope , the old.style.top.covers are obsolete. The two screws on the recoil side are both moved back about .375 towards the rear of the saw. If you look closely at several photos of the 266 and 268 you'll see the difference. Options are limited from what I've seen so far
@@patdufresne6209 generally that would accurate. They are a bit better overall however if you have a heap of 61s or 266s , there isnt much gain to be had. Also I prefer the old top hats on the older saws, the slopped back seems more refined. If you found a newer style 61. 268 or 272 left hand half crank case , you can swap that in and have most of the perks of a newer style saw. One coil, new top covers and ability to to use a larger cylinder and muffler.

@@stuffnsuch631 I'd be better off building a 272 since parts are easier to find?

Hello there, I need to get my hand on a top cover for a 266se. Will a 61 top cover fit a 266se?
the old 61 covers will, the new ones wont
would a partner k650 super 50mm cylinder fit onto one of those ?
Dude great video , clean your parts little cleaning would make video 10 times better
rpm max 12000 ?
I'd be more inclined to watch your videos if you took the time to clean that stuff! OMG
