How far you've come brother. 12 comments... look at your film quality and what you've seen since this. Way to go, man.

Love when those deals come along. Rare but welcome. Picked up a saw a few months ago, similar situations. Guy said he was over it " piece of junk won't start". Bought it, took it home put it on the bench and CKD HL adjustment screws. 3 1/2 out on L and 3 on H. Turned all the way in and back out 1. Put fresh fuel in tank and it sat running on third pull. Thanks

What is the story on the Husqvarna 266 se saws. I bought one in 1982 and for me it has worked flawless until the last little bit when the Oiler stoped oiling the chain. All The mechanics of the Oiler look perfect and I flushed out the tank to no avail. Also the screw is in the gear and it is turning the shaft fine. To get inside the tank do I have to splitting of the body in half. Any suggestions on where to look would be helpful before l have to split it open. Other than the Oiler it starts on the second or third put every time. This must be one of the best saws ever made for light commercial work. I am in Alaska and I bought this saw for $600 in 1982 with the first state oil money dividends. I have cut so much wood over the years its not even funny and all I have done is keep it lubed well and clean plus being really careful during refueling and filling bar oil. I’d say I got my money’s worth.

A couple months ago neighbor gave me 266se. I said it needed new carb and crank seals because the tuning was inconsistent. It had the original fuel line that was cracked in several places. 5 bucks for a new fuel line and I have a great running saw.

REally love your channel Brother! I am just a freak about ANYTHING with a two stroke engine ;) I am really happy with the 266se. COmpression is 150 which might be a little low but it's acceptable in a saw that old. It runs really strong even with the 28 in bar. I have Holtzforma G660, a 92cc engine. The Husky cuts as fast as the G660. I bought the G660 for a specific log building project with really large logs. It last thru that project but it just eats parts. I used to buy Stihl OEM parts for it but it's now blown both crank seals and I am getting sick of constantly fixing it. When it runs it cuts pretty well but its super heavy. I sure don't recommend them. The same guy has a Husky 460 rancher that isn't running well. pours fuel out of the exhaust. Just bought it for 50 bucks. He uses 87 octane 15% ethanol pump gas so I bet a new diaphragm and needle will fix it right up. SHop rates around here are up $100 and hour so almost no one ever fixes a saw. It's cheaper to just go buy a new one. I am mostly retired so I have the time to buy them cheap and fix them and resell. It's fun and keeps me off the streets. Keep doin what you do!

I have a question about bars and chains for that 266se. The bar that was on it was really toast. just for grins I took the bar of the G660 Stihl clone and it actually fits and the Stihl chain fits as well. I was under the impression that STihl and Husky have different bars and chains that don't interchange.

Like you I would pay $45 everyday all year for saws in that kinda of condition even dead ones, like you say there's more than $45 in parts.👍
