Maybe I’m just too much a fan. But Mitch is on a roll talking and the interviewer makes one sound at 3:21 and Mitch stops right away and says “go ahead”. I just find that really respectful of him. Such a funny guy and all around cool dude.

I thought this interview was better than most of the others he did. He explained his drive, how he listened to his own advice. When you tell others what others want to hear, they're never going to hear you. All 1 million of them. But when you tell others what you want to say, they will only hear what you have to say. And wether its one or 1 million, you know your audience is as original as you are. And that is priceless.
Love this interview. Mitch is about as relaxed as I've ever seen him. The interview is fantastic. It's great to see him as a huge giggling fan without all the usual pretense of an interview. Not formal at all and Mitch seems to take to it. Thanks for posting
“Success is getting up when you want and not having to tuck your shirt in.” This is incredibly accurate and very deep. I once read a comment where a guy said his friend owned a Ferrari dealership and he said “The guy who comes in on Saturday in a suit can’t afford a Ferrari. The guy who comes in on Tuesday in a t shirt and shorts already has 2.”
Feels like the interviewer really begged a lot of people to make this happen because he knew how great Mitch was and just needed to capture a bit more of him while he could.
Yeah, I mean, he said in this interview he's talked to Rickles. Yet, he laughed at Mitch, just shooting the shit. Goes to show how funny Hedberg was. And props to this guy, doing his thing, he just was like, "I don't care how famous anyone is, I want to talk to people that make me laugh." Where other Comedians tell long stories and build up suspense while dispensing wisdom; Mitch Hedberg got on stage every night and told jokes. When you adjust his success for that hell of a handicap, there's no one even in the same ball park as Mitch Hedberg.
He seems like the kindest guy you’d ever want to meet. He even takes the time to hear the interviewer try to add a note onto what he’s talking about, and Mitch stops dead in his tracks to say, “I’m sorry, go ahead?” He was a true blue genuine human being.
Mitch is one of the greats. If I remember correctly, he was cooking at a place called Haggerty's in Boca Raton, FL. They started doing comedy nights and Mitch did his first open mic there. A few days later or maybe a week later he drove 45 minutes north to the Comedy Corner in West Palm Beach. I"m pretty sure I saw Mitch his second time ever on stage. He did a bunch of spots at the Tuesday night Comedy Corner open mic night over the next few months and then he disappeared. A few years later I started hearing other comics quoting his lines and they were incredible. Then I saw him on Letterman and I couldn't believe how great he had become. He cracked the code and figured it out. Mitch is one of the all time comedy originals.
What I used to like about Mitch was that instead of following his dreams, he just asked where they were going and caught up later. I still like Mitch, but I used to too.

The biggest tragedy is that we don't have footage of these two on the commercial breaks. Solid chemistry up'ere 16:53 this guy is a morning news anchor conducting an interview for an afternoon segment. That tip of the day was not entirely scripted, but rather written at the last minute based on his overall interaction with the guest. If you factor in how much more time they spent off camera, you can't deny they had some sort of genuine conversation that made him change his tune in time for tuning in to the last part of the show.
