Cool to see how easy this install is. But I gotta ask why bother running the cord underneath instead of just installing the port on the other side where you wanted the plug??
thanks for the how-to. Do you happen to remember where you got this plug from, by chance? I got one that looks like yours on amazon but I sure like your plug install so think I would like the same exact plug.
Just got back from my birthday 🎂🎊🎉 dinner with the hubby! Was ready to call it a night but you had to post another great video lol. Very informative. Our 89 chevy pickup already has too many holes lol. We use to camp in it back in the days. Now it's a travel trailer. Can't wait for the next adventure. Happy trails 🤗🏕💕
You can also mount a heater core and a fan in the front corner of your truck bed. By running two hoses for the core back in the back to a splitter for the core under the hood. Then wire the fan into the trucks controls, or a separate switch. you can use a bypass valve for when the back heater is not in use, or is removed. I works great ! I built a little box for mine, with levers, to direct air. It's handy in many situations, but once you shut off the truck your in a pre-warmed environment. Something to thing about ! You could be heating up the back going down the road !!
Interesting video man! I just got all the stuff to install a duall battery system in my Jeep Cherokee camper. Most the time I’m camping nowhere near electrical outlets. And I have two of those rifle cases from harbor freight. Originally bought one for storage of camping gear but ended up actually using it for my rifles, then bought the second. They are pretty small for storage but they’re flat on my roof and I can put my kayak on top.
You did a great job on the installation!! But as an electrician myself I have to advise you that when dealing with stranded wire always twist the stripped stranded wire in a clockwise rotation to ensure that no strands stick out or get bent as to cause a potential short and to make a solid connection. Don't worry about the torque specs on the the screws. The tighter the better.
Danny, as someone who's always worked on his own stuff, tighter is not always better. But I certainly wouldn't use torque specs on something like that.
I just stumbled on this video I'm doing the build out of mine right now and I cut the hole in the topper not the bed of the truck I was actually shocked when I saw you drilling into sheet metal into sheet metal especially since it looks like you're in a rust prone area.
haaa, he-manned it off of there, i like that, lol. i think thats a good thing to put on your truck but i do think you should have gone with a 30amp. plug instead a standard type just to add more versatility in your plug option at the campground. you plug into 30amp and use a dog bone to step down to 15-20amp plug, more plug options and greater versatility.
hey quady thats great, and with that three plug cord you could get you a small fridge to put in there! plug it in your ice hole power while driving to camp to get it cold, then when you get there plug it up to shore power, but i would recommend keeping your ice chest for emergencies and extra food
I enjoy watching your videos. I'm from Lincoln so nice to see you are local. I see you use a spicy mustard. You should try kooks Arizona heat. Or hyvee sweet heat mustard they are amazing. Keep up the great videos nice to see Nebraska parks
Hey Quady, thanks for the informative video- would it have been better if you drilled hole in Cap- that way no wires under truck in winter snow- what do you think- they have plugs with two outlets on Amazon. Great video- Semper Fi- Peter
I was thinking the same thing, because at least you won't have to run the extension cord through the back hatch. However I might be thinking of getting a Four-Wheel Campers Project M for the F250 I drive regularly for the additional interior space when camping.
As Mike says "I'll never need more than one outlet". Fast forward 10 months and Mike is using his crock pot to make a roast. And, an inquiring subscriber wants to know how was able to plug it in. lo and behold, this sub remembered this video and shared the way Mike was able to have, now, two items on an electric plug in...
What’s the benefit of doing it? You still have to run an extension cord from the hookup to your truck. A solar panel would fit nicely on the other side of your roof rack
Hey not related to this video but harbor freight is having a sale on your gun case the next few days, I think it’s like $40 off, just thought I’d let you know if you were thinking about getting a second one, keep up the good work!
Good idea, think it'll come in handy for a stronger fan in the summer. I have a question 🤔, why didn't you drill the hole and put the plug in on the right side of the bed where you ran the wire in?
I was thinking the same thing. I’ve noticed in some of his other videos that the camp power “tower” is typically on the driver side when he backs in. Not sure if that is the reason, but it was the only thing I could think of. Still a great idea. Going to this same thing on my truck at some point.
Cool to see how easy this install is. But I gotta ask why bother running the cord underneath instead of just installing the port on the other side where you wanted the plug??
I didn't get that either
If you paint the raw metal in the hole it prevents more rust. Great job, great idea. Safe travels.
It's painted 👍
I always wonder how it was done… learn something new everyday which so cool… I love it!!! Thanks
New quady vid on a Thursday you keep us spoiled mike thank you!!🙏🏼🙏🏼
I appreciate the support 🙏

That is a great idea Mike having the plugs inside the truck. can't wait for the next adventure !
I love you're vids i learn so much u are never depressing or negative.
That’s a cool idea! Ur getting that ol girl set up now! Can’t wait to see ya out using power soon!
Awesome as always Mike.
Thanks for sharing.
GOD BLESS YOU!
Great job! Now I can add another shore power outlet for my trailer.
Foil tape is wonderful I use to use it as a kid to seal my car for Subwoofers so no rattle I hate the rattle
Great job with the new hook up! Truck looks amazing my friend! See ya soon stay safe!
Dude that is freaking genius idea
That's an awesome idea. I may have to do that to my truck camper shell. 👍
The whole time you were cutting the wire with the razor blade the "time to do some sketchy shit" song was playing my head. Lmao
I commend you on improving the truck - it's an important part of your product/channel.
nice little update to the truck

Love it!!! Plus you shop at my favorite store!!!! Mernards!!!! That place has it all!!!!
They definitely suck me in with that 11% back 🤣
Very nice addition! Don't give up on the idea of a solar generator and solar panel - it was a perfect addition for my camping trips.
I love the idea, I am going to look into this project for my F250.

@@yourface3154 true. But on wiring devices it is a good thing.
Nice boat! Trackers are awesome, has a pro team 175 XT special edition years ago
What a Quaddy mod! I freaking love it man! Woohoo! Thats all I gotta say
Very very cool. I had no idea it was that easy to put in a plug for shore power. Excellent! Thank you so much for sharing this. Deb from Detroit
The truck like your content and channel Just keep getting Better and Better. Nice Job Quady ! making camping easier for ya. 😍🚙🌟👍
Nice job Mike. Looks very professional.
Very cool, I'm converting my Astro into a camper and this will be perfect at campgrounds or a small generator
Go to to work hard to get those nice things. This man does for sure. It’s all one’s choice how they live. Set ur mi d to something u will get it
That’s a great mod! Should serve you well.
Your outlet a good idea.. was ez to install.. I should put one in my suv jus in case🤔, great video 👌🏼
I was wondering why u hadn’t done this before or if u were ever going to this. I like it! Nice job!
Perfect addition, I was thinking adding one myself.
Well, not gonna lie, i saw the thumbnail and stopped dead thinking, NO WAY he drilled a hole in the truck😂 good idea man, see ya out there!
Another great up grade 👏 👌. Get better insulation for box !! .
Brother that's an awesome idea. Thank you for another great video.
Thanks Jimmy 🤙
@@CrazyQuady your very welcome brother.
Watched this whole video as if I was planning on doing this to my altima. Awesome videos! Just subbed!
It's amazing, I'm from Vietnam, I have the same passion for camping in a small car
Thanks for the informational video bro!!! Can’t wait for the next video 👍
👍👍 that's a pretty nice install
Awesome install job 👍🏻 time to drink a cold one and stare at your work lol cheers bud 🍻
🍻
Cool mod! It looks good on the side of the truck too, blends in well.
Sweet bikes in the garage man
I just stumbled on this video I'm doing the build out of mine right now and I cut the hole in the topper not the bed of the truck I was actually shocked when I saw you drilling into sheet metal into sheet metal especially since it looks like you're in a rust prone area.
That's a good idea for interior power.
I also let it "dangle".
You’re an industrious young man 👍
Cool. That worked out nice!
Great idea. Thanks for another great video
Awesome idea. Thanks for sharing.
Nice upgrade man. Keep doing your stuff:)
Now get you a small Microwave when you can't cook outside make your Instant coffee to !!!

make sure ya protection on the sharp corners it doesnt take much to short it out, found out the hard way
I'll be putting wire loom on it

Sweet upgrade my man.

Just waiting to tell you I love you videos and your truck
That came out clean. 👏💥
🍻
Awesome video as always. Cheers from California.
Hey Quady, thanks for the informative video- would it have been better if you drilled hole in Cap- that way no wires under truck in winter snow- what do you think- they have plugs with two outlets on Amazon. Great video- Semper Fi- Peter
Bed is alrwsy rusty, no reason to put a hole in the cap
That looks so easy. I am going to install this on my SUV
You can do it!
Looks good! I like DIY projects.
You in weather paint or rust in the hole
Go to Oriellys and get some wire loom. Get the stuff behind the counter not out on the floor, it`s cheaper. They sell it by the foot.
I'd like too, there may be some chafe points where I ran it
That plug is looking mint!
You should use a heavy duty power strip on the inside of truck bed...multi outlets with a surge protector
I was thinking the same thing, because at least you won't have to run the extension cord through the back hatch. However I might be thinking of getting a Four-Wheel Campers Project M for the F250 I drive regularly for the additional interior space when camping.

Haha, we say out here- "cant see it from my house."
What an awesome idea!!!!
Great idea!
Hell yeah man - great idea
Dude! I used to have that exact boat. Miss it big time! Went with a bigger one and fishing isn’t as fun anymore lol.
I'm going to do this. Thanks for the idea. Why didn't you just drill the hole on the other side of the truck?
Most of our campsites around here are back in, and pole is on that side. Same as camper trailers etc
@@CrazyQuady Alright, I knew there was an explanation. I think I'll install mine in the camper top. I'm really enjoying your videos!
Brilliant! That’s a wonderful setup.
Great idea keep the video coming
May I suggest that you might want to wrap your cord in a piece of loom cover to protect it from the elements and such...
good idea
Funny you should mention the alignment of the outlet. It bothered me that it did not line up to the angle of the fender.
What’s the benefit of doing it? You still have to run an extension cord from the hookup to your truck. A solar panel would fit nicely on the other side of your roof rack
Nice work!
Nice bud waiting on the next video
If I drilled a hole in my truck at work, my co-workers would have said, NO! Wait!! Right after drilling.
Very nice job! It was a great ideas too!
That's a great idea!
Crazy Quady! Love your truck camping videos man, I have a question... what do you do for work besides UA-cam?
Love this idea
Love your motorcycle 🏍
Moto camping coming this summer 👍
I’d install an outlet on the interior just for finished look. I should do this to mine!
If you don't mind me asking why did you choose to mount it on the driver side and Not on the passenger side ?
Hey not related to this video but harbor freight is having a sale on your gun case the next few days, I think it’s like $40 off, just thought I’d let you know if you were thinking about getting a second one, keep up the good work!
CQ, did the locking collar / castle nut come with the plug or did you get that separately? Seems to be convenient for mounting.
You won't regret that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's working great 👍
Good idea, think it'll come in handy for a stronger fan in the summer. I have a question 🤔, why didn't you drill the hole and put the plug in on the right side of the bed where you ran the wire in?

@@jbporter1 that's a reason I didn't think of and sounds legit.
Looking good
