    It's a lot easier to take pot shots on the internet than to drag Rescue Randy through a field. Keep up the good work.

    Where I live, I'm out in the woods, on a dead-end road. EMS is a ways off. Last year I gave my two neighbors across the road, and my niece and nephew, who live 200m down the road, fully stocked med kits. Not the cheapo ones, but substantial units with quality components for genuine use.
    Last week, a neighbor was hooking a towed device to his tractor. Something broke loose and tore into his face, badly damaging an eye. His wife was there with him, and getting the med kit, she utilized the specialized eye care components in the kit. She rushed him to the ER in town, and was treated. The ER surgeon said that the dressing used on the injury by his wife made a definite difference between loosing the eye.
    The above incident is a good example of having a quality med kit. A couple of band-aids and a tube of ointment sure won't cut it.

      Good story. Sad it happened. You're a good neighbor.

    People have gotten too soft these days and don't have a sense of humor. It makes a bad understanding to the point of trying to learn something being refreshed on something or learning to just become a good listener. I love to hear what I can take in because I have bad hearing, and education never ends no matter how old you get.

      @CarryTrainer it's because you are a good man. I don't know where you came from, we are truly blessed that you rose up and stepped up to train teach and help us learn what it means to be our own protector and calvary. I have learned more than I ever dreamed of just watching listening and then applying everything from your videos. You give us all this knowledge and help for free. You ask for nothing. That makes you one of the best. Take care brother

    More for food for thought. TCCC is designed for military use. TECC is the civilian version of that content, not really using body armor drags, and identifying that these injuries don't just happen to somewhat fit adults between 18 and 40 years old. The terminology is better designed for civilians as well.
    I believe you're based on Illinois, NIPSTA has a 16 hour TECC course and the CoTECC will recognize TCCC instructors who've been through the TECC curriculum as TECC instructors.
    One more tidbit as a firearm trainer and full time fighter/EMT - you practice with your firearm, practice with your medical kit! Professional instruction is highly recommended, but regular training even after a course is still a must.

    My daughter wanted to learn how to use my shop equipment. Yesterday was the day I started a project with her. The very first thing I did was show her where the turniquet is and how to use it. As the day went on and we moved between machines, I found myself instructing her more on safety with each machine and how to avoid getting hurt more often than what and why we were doing the work for the project. I ranked my shot equipment by how dangerous they are.
    I thought it was strange behavior until I started watching your channel.
    Safety and how to deal with emergencies should always be the first priority in all potentially dangerous activities.

    Any time I am at the range there is at least one and often more First Aid kits. If I am with people, before we load anything, we get the med kit out and put it in a prominent and easily accessible place so all know where it is. My range kit has an orange hi vis tourniquet as well.

    What is the pack that you show and where can I get it? Or is it something you yourself put together?

    Great message. I have a med kit in my vehicle, and I gave my wife one for her car as well. I've never had to use either, but better to have and not need than...you know. Still feel the same way about the tank bro. Just sayin.

    I go out and shoot my gun twice a month but I'm not "training" for anything. It's called practice, the word we have used for centuries.

    • @CarryTrainer
      @CarryTrainer  4 місяці тому +2

      A very different mindset. I practice skillset and movements. I train to utilize them to win. Something done much longer than mere centuries.
