Just bought my Hellcat, first gun ever, you taught me tons before I even fired my first shot. Just amazed that your channel doesn't have a million plus subscribers
This really is one of the best gun trainers on YT. Mickey’s explanations are so well and precise, yet easy to understand. And he always says a thing or two to make you laugh, while still maintaining seriousness and not getting off topic.
Thank you for your videos, Brother, and I love your comment on the nervous Nellies. I get tired of all the people that like to say crap, like, "he didn't clear that firearm and is pointing it right at the camera" (Ok? It's a camera...a bullet is not going to magically miracle itself through the camera and into someone's screen), or, "his finger is on the trigger... that's not safe" (So? And?), or some stupid crap like that. I've got five years of combat experience and one of the [many] things I learned is, my finger IS my safety! I know when to squeeze,... and when to pull...and when NOT to squeeze and pull! I am very cognizant of my situation and how not to put myself into a situation where I may inadvertently pull the trigger. ...And I don't need someone who has not been there and not done that, to try and tell me what to do and what not to do. Thanks again, Brother! Keep up the good fight!
Big difference in this video is it discusses not only the desired end state grip, which most videos do, but how to deliberately and intentionally get there step by step. Also appreciate the repetition. The little things are highlighted well and not taken for granted.
Good information. I recently purchased a Sig P365 and love it. Took a minute to get used to. I added a hogue grip and I feel it made a huge difference. I will use this information to my advantage. Thanks.
really love watching your videos the way you break things down and have me paying more attention to the small details has deff helped me with my shooting and my grip at the range.
Great video. Just picked up a Sig 365xl as my carry and it is definitely different than my full sized guns. Great shooter but I know I need range and dry fire time to be comfortable before trusting it with my life. However, I am scheduling to spend a lot of time at the range working on my grip, presentation, and sight alignment with this little power house. Your input confirmed what I was thinking and glad to see that I am heading to better shooting with this great carry weapon. Thank you… this was the type of content I was looking for. And for anyone considering the Sig, it is an excellent shooter but not on the level of a duty gun. That’s what I had to remember…
Excellent video on handling the sub compact 9MM. Many people carry very small .380 pistols and we’d appreciate a video on how to best handle these snappy little guns. BTW I use your videos when teaching new students and send them your videos to watch before going to the range.
I have been re-working my firearm grip based on another video you did that I watched. I've been repeatedly drawing an empty firearm from the holster into the grip you describe. It's coming along well, and eventually I will be doing it without giving it a second thought. I will be intermixing range time with this as well. Thanks Mickey for all of your GREAT advice!! Pritzker sucks!
My strong side fingers wrap all the way around the grip back thumb/palm. There is no exposed grip for my support hand to make contact with. Do I just mash on my grip hand fingers with my support hand?
Johnnie flippie muzzle HAHAHAHAH! I'm not the best shooter, but as an RSO I see that all the freakin' time. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and pushing me to be better ;o)
Love it, thanks for the content. I've spent hours letting your videos play in the background. Hope it helps. Looking forward to seeing an Ohio Pistol class next summer... :)
Great video as always. One of the trade offs I had to adapt to with the P365 was reversing the magazine release because I was pushing it with my support (Left) hand.
My thumb holds my slide release down under recoil, causes lock back failure. With my p365 and 365xl I have to use thumb under technique or i get no slidelock.
@@angry-odinestbb3263 I owned it for a bit It was good close up, both eyes open for the first month Took 2 weeks off of it & when I came back I was a ton more accurate with it at 10 -12yards My vision gets blurry there so I didn’t push it more, but like I said, upon returning to it, i was much more accurate

There's a guy on one channel has the worst rubber wrest of anyone I've ever seen , I thought the gun was going to come right out of his rubber hands , good God man !
hogue grip on my Glock 42. I alway get a 250 patch in pocket division shooting in Glock matches. Noway would I carry such a low cap gun for self defence, Glock 19 is for that.😊
i have a question.. thumbs,,, does it matter my thumb over other thumb, either one, left over right or right over left.. im left handed but im right handed shooter im both handed.. can shoot either way. but i had same prob. when i was a kid in baseball right handed but tried holding bat as if i was hitting left handed.it was a problem with my s/a revolver right hand shooting and my left thumb wants to cover my right, but needed right to pull back hammer, notiiced i started using my left thumb to cock hammer.. confusing...... need info.. is that ok if works for me or NO..help.you the man one day like to go to your class..
I’m thumbs forward on my full sized pistols but through trial and error I’ve found the teacup grip works much better with my smaller compact pistols. Way more accurate.
My 43x is the most comfortable gun I own to carry but it's the one I never carry because I don't shoot well with it. I have big hands and can't find a good repeatable grip that works well for me. I'm sure with practice I could fix this issue.🇺🇲
Been looking for this video from CT for a while. One other thing I struggle with, is even getting my trigger finger from the index position TO the trigger is a bit of a choir. Just not much space.
Get some snap caps, & practice drawing master grip to finger on the trigger instead of just drawing with trig. finger against the slide OR the pistol may just be too small for you.
Idk if id classified it as funny..but i grew up shooting a berreata(sp) 92 bought a sig p290 that i daily carry then purchased a cz clone... While i actually hate shooting the sig it's what i carry i understand the stringray(sp) is thr overall better pistol even if it isn't a better edc carry option
Also, there alot of times on a situation that when you have to grab your gun, your grip will not be perfect, your wrist will be loose and the gun should work. In am urban environment, things go quick. In the military, for the most part you're already ready. A civilian and alot of cops have to draw and shoot. Not always a perfect situation, sloppy grip, tight space and some people are newer and have never experienced a situation like that and never will. Their grip will be screwed up. The best of the best, that's how it happens. With that said, the gun needs to work u der any circumstances. Which is why, I love revolvers. I carry both, but no worries with those. If it doesnt shoot, just pull the trigger again. If someone is in front of you and you have to clear your gun, tracking slides and pulling clips and their gun didnt jam at the same time, you're dead. Usually you wont be in a situation to take cover.
That's where all the training come's in. In the event you get in that situation, you've trained enough to overcome those small setbacks. Without said training those issues could be the difference between life and death.
Im left handed and all the guns are made for right handed people , if you can get someone left handed to show us how to property hold the gun I have trouble staying clear of the shell ejection port. Thanks
I spend just as much time with my 365 as I do with my 320. I love them both but I carry the 365. I also put the xl grip module on it so I can get a better grip. Don't want to be mr flippy dick lol
You could've saved a whole lot of time by referring everyone to one of your master grip videos. If you are having a problem then maybe the gun is too small for you.
