I had a nightmare time doing the rear cv axles on a 2013 500 ho recently, but I got the machine for $950 running. Engine, trans, front diff is perfect but the atv was left outside for awhile and plastics, axles, bearings all needs replaced and needs TLC cleaning. Front cv's were easy. Polaris isn't my favorite, but I'll buy whatever I can for cheap dump in $1000-$1200 in parts, do my own labor and make it super reliable again. People around here seem to love Polaris and buy them up quick for top dollar. I'll have around $2000-$2200 tops total in the machine with me doing labor and I can sell it for $4500 very fast realistically around here and $5000 top dollar. It will look like a nice machine when done though and not clapped out. I see people selling older 500's still clapped out and maybe they put a new seat / cover on it and sell for $3000-$4000. The 6x6 models go for the higher range. I will say the polaris 500's are pretty solid and the engines are solid in them. Me personally, I just don't like the newer higher powered polaris units. They have a lot of problems with premature bearing failure on oem bearings (low low hours), suspension problems, cv axle problems, etc. Some people do know this and go for the older 500's, and the 500's are actually sought after.
I have the same year model and all iv been through 2 cv axles in a row I put them in go down the road then the left rear snaps any suggestions on what it may be? It’s been a nightmare

It might be binding up somewhere
27mm was too small for my 2009 500.
how did the axle slide right took the hub off mine and it not coming out like yours did
mine barely came out to
I got lucky it wasn't seized in there. Spray some lubricant in there first
what next???
Put new axle in and put everything back together
@@redtrix04 still cant get axle out.. there is a rounded ring on the axle.. how do i get it off.. seems i have to crack open the rear end?
