Yeah... probably one of the most versatile and safe push blocks I have seen. Just need to watch those brass thumb knobs if the blade is set to full height. But all in all, a very good design. I am going to make one, thanks.
thank you 😊🖐 yeah, I missed that in design. You only have to make the cover plate thicker where the handle is, so that you can get over the saw blade with the thumb screws. 😊🖐

Tolle Idee. Dank der Maßangaben konnte ich es in "0,nix" nachbauen. Der Videoschnitt ist klasse wie immer und das im Video kein endlos-logorrhoea wie im knallroten Kanal auf einen einprasselt ist umso angenehmer.

thosa ... Den Sprechdurchfall von Meister Truppe meinte ich ;-)..es ist schade, wenn gute Ideen derart überlagert werden, dass man den Ton abstellen muss und dann Details verpasst, die wirklich wichtig sind.
Dein Filmstil ist genau mein Ding und dass Du die Maße ab und zu angibst ist spitze.

Its funny that you did this update now. The moment I first saw your push block idea, I redesigned it as you did now, with both sides to be adjustable, having a 3/4 block at one side, but mine has 3x1.4 identical blocks (3/4) on the other side too and by lifting up each 1/4 block you go to 1/2 or 1/4 push

Hi, I appreciated your video and I’d say its the best pushstick I've seen so far. I had a similar idea because my ultimate goal is to combine max safety with minimum waste of space in my micro-workshop.
Furthermore, I’d suggest a couple modifications for sake of speed of use and economy of build (as I think that reducing every tool to the necessary minimum is a form of “perfection” in itself): instead of 4 bolts - two per each “push side plate” - let’s just use ONE piece of threaded bar passing all through the center piece => 1 bar+2 nuts instead of 4 bolts + 4 nuts.
Consider that the pushstick just has to push down and forward, not to achieve perfect complanarity with the saw table. Therefore, once you have it resting over the workpiece, you can just tighten the one nut to block vertical movement.
By making it quicker to adjust, you can further exploit the main advantage of this pushstick: its versatility. We can prepare more “sides” which could take into account special needs, like very thin workpieces (and therefore a a shorter “hook”) or larger ones (therefore a wider-basis “side”). All of them making part of one single “system”, taking little space in the shop.
Another (big?) advantage of this is that by just undoing the nut, you can turn the unused side upside-down, therefore having it resting on its “upper”, straight side, instead of the lower one and thus achieving both a more stable standing and less wear&tear of the “pushing backtooth”, which is - in my opinion - the most delicate part of any pushstick.

Hi, thank you 😀🖐 I already thought about the version with the one central screw, but I wanted to provide the upper side with a pushing edge as well. The main problem with a single central threaded rod is to glue it in. You can't get it clean enough with epoxy glue without messing around the front and back threads. 🤔The block doesn't have to rest on the pushing side, because I hang it on an aluminium profile of the table similar to the fence. 😀🖐

@@Raphi68 Die Rändelmuttern gibt es auch (einzeln) bei Hornbach (im Onlineshop so nicht zu finden) bis M10. Allerdings verzinkt.
Gute Erweiterung... Das wäre wahrscheinlich auch mein Lieblingstool, aber aus dem Parallelanschlag meiner Säge schauen zur Justierung oben ein paar blöde Schrauben raus.
Aber etwas anderes: Warum vereinfacht man eigentlich diese krummen imperialen Einheiten durch Dezimalstellen. Ist das nicht furchtbar inkonsequent?

@@thosa ich wollte mal schauen, ob ich vielleicht diese Sechskantschrauben durch versenkbare Imbusschrauben ersetzen könnte. Aber Madenschrauben sind natürlich auch eine gute Idee. Dann spare ich mir ein mögliches Verhunzen des Anschlags und brauche nichts senken.
Das mit dem Imperialen System: Die Umrechnung erfolgt immer in unterschiedlichen und krummen Werten. Ein Fuß sind 12 Inch, ein Yard sind 3 Fuß... und so weiter. Daher meinte ich, dass eine Vereinfachung dieses Gebildes (3,5 Zoll - die Nachkommazahl zur Basis 10) inkonsequent wäre. War jetzt keine Kritik an deiner Ausführung, lediglich eine Darstellung meiner Belustigung an diesem System.
