    Nice fence rider, well-executed and good video showing it, but IMO it only works as a safe push stick for narrow cuts. If you're cutting anything wider, you're pushing the wrong corner. Why? Place a book on your kitchen countertop, and push the left corner. The book rotates to the right, which on a cut would be into the fence, where it's safe. Now push on the right corner of the book, where this jig pushes the workpiece. The book rotates to the left, which on a cut would be into the blade, causing it to walk up onto a tooth and kick back.
    How about instead of attaching a push stick to the fence rider, you attach the right edge of a mini sled to it, say a 20cm square with a small fence on the edge of it that's toward you? A sled's always a good pusher, and guiding it with a fence rider has the advantage of not having to cut miter slot runners for the sled. Just a thought.

      thank you 😀 ..yes of course... this push block has been designed for small pieces where a normal push stick is difficult to get between the fence and the saw blade. 🤓👍 ...and yes, I have to admit that I also like to use it for wider pieces... because it works so well. I didn't think at that moment that I couldn't take the pusher with wider pieces. 😳 🤔 Thank you so much for pointing that out. I'll have to take care of it in the future. 👌😀 The idea of making a little sled with a fence rider is great. thank you for that. 🤓 I'm gonna build something like this fast. 😀👍

      😪that version of the saw is not available in the USA, the model available here doesn’t have the sled like yours or the oversized mitre sled. I have a large Delta and I’m very happy with it but I had to make many of the features that seem to have come stock on yours (like your mitre and a crosscut sled) and I like that it’s portable. Mine weighs about 350 pounds.

      thosa your videos are great. And helpful enough to point me in the right direction to make one for my table saw. Thank you for sharing!!!

    Nice job. May I suggest a modification? Just one groove&knob mid-way should be enough (you just loosen it and let the wood block "fall" on the piece to cut and then tie the knob), so you can make the wood "wall" of two different width: one like you did, for "normal" cuts and the opposite side much thinner for very thin cuts and you can change them just by loosening the knob and rotate the block upside down. Just my 2c. Ciao.

    • @thosa
      @thosa  5 років тому

      thank you 😀 and yes... thats such a great idea.. 😀👍 I think with only one knob I have to attach grip tape in the inner vertical block. But the idea is great... 👌 I think I will make an update video for your idea.. can I show your comment in the video? 🙂🖐

    • @carloduroni5629

    • @thosa
      @thosa  5 років тому

      Why wouldn't it work? I will build the update as a completely new push block.
      If it doesn't work then I still have my original push block available. 😀👍
      The video with your comment will of course only come online if it has worked. 😉

      Da ich schon meine zehn Finger ausgepackt habe, um vermeidlich längere Texte zu tippen, möchte ich kurz etwas total unwichtiges anmerken. Im ersten Teil des Videos habe ich, dank der Musikauswahl (und vielleicht auch wegen der Anzahl gesprochener Worte), auf Auftritte von Charlie Chaplin, Dick und Doof oder anderer Stummfilm-Stars gewartet.
