hey... i just wanted to ask something about sm entertainment do they look up for talent or just the visual and singing i am good at singing and if i can't sing but I can rap are there any changes of getting selected?
@@cheser1987 you basically dont have to be professional in singing because if you were you would be already an Idol looonnggg time ago. They will teach you how to find your singing voice and you’ll improve with the time. Even in rapping its the same. Just fight for it and dont give up :)

Great video Irene. I think people should know that if you're serious about being an artist you wouldn't worry about age etc. Believe in what you're trying to achieve. Also its okay to wanna be in Kpop but its important to consider the industry in countries you live too. One can be successful in any language and music industry because its art it knows no barriers. Kpop is just one avenue to create your art consider more options. Best of luck to all.
@@LuvieIrene superb video ................Yes that's the best thing the companies are accepting trainees of older age but the problem comes is still the same as many company has strict age criteria so what one should do in that case.

But i think it's never too late for anything so I'm keep going towards my goal ... Thanks for such a lovely video❤ .... Also to all those who thinks it's too late now ....... It's never too late for your dreams i think this is the high time now you should get up and start working towards you dreams or goals wish you all luck ....
I do think it's important to never lose hope. No matter the age that you're in. You always can do music nonetheless. A lot of smaller companies accept older trainees and even some foreign idols like Alex and Fatou both started in Kpop when they were in their 20's. It's always great to consider other opportunities too like working in the industry in the background like background vocals, producing, songwriting or even being a background dancer. There's also many shows in Korea where you can participate as a singer whilst being a foreigner. You can also make Kpop inspired music and not necessarily be a Kpop idol. Even while living in Korea there's many other singing opportunities like festivals and events. And if you want to do acting or modeling in Korea, that's even more inclusive when it comes to age. So there's always opportunities. You only need to believe in yourself and work on yourself to be in the best shape of yourself that you can be.

Yea I also have to agree one of the benefits of being older is childhood. The example i am going to use is Jungkook. Even tho he is the youngest of one of the most popular k pop groups he didn’t have his parents to take care of him at that time which is why most of the other members had to kinda do the job of raising him😅. And also even tho he went to school like a normal kid . He also had tight schedules and had to work. I think this is one of the most common things that has been happening in Kpop and i think they should kinda increase the age limit.
im 13 (about to turn 14 in June) and i want to audition as soon as possible because from my point of view my dancing is the best as I'm learning it from 9 years and i am good in rapping to also pretty good in singing. but I'm not sure weather i will be selected i am just scared and what if I go wrong somewhere? like if i audition for singing what if i crack? and if i audition for dancing what if i look awkward? i just have negative thoughts coming in my mind and i am not even sure when i should audition
Don't let fear take over your dreams! You will regret it, my friend. Also, if something goes wrong during the audition, just keep going. You can audition as many times as you want, so keep auditioning, the companies will see your improvement and growth. Make sure to have confidence as well. Fighting!! 🥰
@@findingjooe1028 yes fighting!! I just want to audition once so i will be confident in auditioning again.. but how do I audition 😭 will they take free style or choreographed dance?!
@@cheser1987 they should take either one, but I wouldn't do contemporary unless you are FULLY confident, because if may be awkward to watch for them, so, prepare your own dance beforehand and practice it. Hi Irene! Not really related to this video, but do you think participating (and almost winning) on The Voice is a good "award" for an auditionee to talk about on their self introduction? Or do you think it can be bad for us to participate on this kind of program?

You’re so helpful. My friend’s youngest sister is currently 10, and she wants to be a K-pop idol. So she asked me to ask you “if I audition and pass, do I have to go to Korea? I don’t want to stay away from my family at 10! And school. It feels unsafe.” So is she supposed to audition and 10 right now? And if she passes, is she required to go to Korea? You can just zoom nowadays right? Honestly, I wanna know too.

One thing i have lose my confidence is that i am not korean i am from indian and my parents thinks it is just for fun things. It's not career and they tell me by you imagine this so that's why you want to be... just don't think. I don't think so i will be achieve my dreams 😢

:))
I'm 18 and have no prior experience in singing or rapping. :(
Hi Irene! Not really related to this video, but do you think participating (and almost winning) on The Voice is a good "award" for an auditionee to talk about on their self introduction? Or do you think it can be bad for us to participate on this kind of program?
it would be good to put in the experience section, but not award
thank you for your videos! im going to a kpop dance camp & there will be companies there so im planning to audition🫶
:)
Best strategy is to practice singing, rapping and dancing in home in your free time, and u can debut in an old age and enjoy ur childhood bc u will already be good !!
that's not so much of a stretgy but sure :)
I'm 14 planning to audition at 16/17 but my skills are really bad, so I will practicing but it's really hard with school and i don't even know if my parents will accept so yeah..
I am bad at singing but good at dancing

ok
From 14 to 21, if you have strong dancing and singing skills, you have a great chance of being accepted by any K-Pop company.
