You can tell by the newer comments, respectfully saying aren’t going to make it. First of all, be open-minded and take criticism as a way to improve. Stop focusing on your appearance and just GO for it, audition!! Don’t give up just because you rarely see foreign idols. You can legit be the first non-Asian idol to debut with massive popularity. You never know until you try! That’s what motivates me, knowing that I can maybe help change the K-pop industry slightly in terms of being non Asian. And honestly STOP auditioning for just the big 3 industries. There are other companies out there who can accept you and again who knows that maybe your group will become really well known globally. And make sure to thank Irene.. some of you are kinda disrespectful to her and her time. Please be more aware and just improve!
well, i was just learning Korean and practicing singing and dancing, A LOT for the past 2 to 4 months, i got so much better too, but then one day, my parents (Who COMPLETELY opposed this idea, ESPECIALLY going to Korea) found out that i was learning Korean and then I had to tell them everything, and there were HUGE arguments for two weeks, they constantly said I had to give up my dream cuz I wouldn't make it anyway, (i know the kpop industry is really competitive, but hey! it's not impossible! i can try!) that it was really dark, that i would never be happy, no matter what, I can't explain them that it's my dream and i want to achieve it, at least try to, but they wouldn't listen, they keep telling me i'm just obsessed which get's annoying! they even don't let me practice dance for more than 1 hour these days, and I am depressed and i don't know what to do, firstly, even i am confused, second, I have no idea how I should explain them that I will study hard and do this and practice hard at the same time? If someone is reading this, I know it's of no use to you, but pls reply something if it might be helpful, thanks!
It will be the same at my house, if they know that I am preparing for the audition, actually these are all new to our parents, explain them or show them the good aspects of kpop industry, it will take time but I hope they will understand. Don't give up girl fighting 💜
Definitely don't give up on your dreams! My parents don't know that I'm preparing for the audition, I'll tell them if I pass the first round. But I don't know how they will react. Anyway, never ever give up, show them your talent. They probably don't want to send their children to a foreign country. But if you show them your passion and determination, they may soften. Or you can apply for an online audition and tell them if you pass the first round and let them know you're talented.💗

What I learned from this video...probably is that, I can`t lose hope after the first online audition and who knows how many rounds you`ll be doing and what random could be expected during the face-to-face or one-on-one zoom audition
so if i pass the frist round in the second one i have to fly to korea to make the offline audition right ？ but if i dont have enough money they will just let me of ..？ because as you said zoom audition for the sec round is very rare .. so that means i will never have any chge to become a trainee..？

Actually my parents forced me to say my passion and first I was soo nervous to say and then I said them and they told me not to join and not to trust kpop and they showed me some very scary videos which happened to some of them who joined but I still want to join and I don't know how to convince my parents. I auditioned for SM as a joke one month and a half ago and I got in!The email was sent to me less than 36 hours before my audition too😭… wish me luck :)
The only problem is that I am poor 😐 my family can’t even make a full month without starving bc we have no food…. And if they don’t pay my flight to Korea I can already give up lol

As someone who’s still in school, in America, and would like to try perusing being a kpop idol, how should I go about school and learning Korean? I’m a freshman in high school and am using duolingo right now to learn Korean. But it’s a slow process and I’m not really getting anywhere with my Korean skills and especially pronunciation and just overall flow of a sentence. Do you have any tips for school and really anything about an audition? Any insight anyone gives is greatly appreciated and will help a lot for someone who hasn’t had any experience in this area. Please give me any information you have in this area about auditions and such thanks!

No, mostly the second round are held in zoom meeting but it totally depends on the company. If they want the second round audition in person then you have to travel to korea

I’m a freshman in high school and am using duolingo right now to learn Korean. But it’s a slow process and I’m not really getting anywhere with my Korean skills and especially pronunciation and just overall flow of a sentence. Do you have any tips for school and really anything about an audition? Any insight anyone gives is greatly appreciated and will help a lot for someone who hasn’t had any experience in this area.
