I was literally waiting for this one cause i see so many people with unrealistic toughts of being an idol or a trainee. Like there are so many traniees never debut and so many groups that never becomes popular so they still have to manage their debt. Love your channel thank you ♡
Thank you so much! I've always thought of the harsh training and the possibility of not being successful (whether as a trainee or a debut) as the biggest obstacles to overcome, but it seems debt and legal contracts are so very harsh. Imagine chasing your dreams only to fail and lose the youngest years of your life and work off your debt. Years of missing school also slow down your chances of getting a good job in real life. The more I learn the more it seems like debuting and being successful is about the same as the roll of a dice.
The only thing keeping me from auditioning is the fact that you never really know if you’ll debut or not. Which is scary because I don’t live in Korea and I wouldn’t want to stay there without my family, and then not end up debuting. 😩✋🏼
Recently, I had a strong urge to start self-training to pass the audition, and thanks to stumbling upon your video, I was able to think about it in a more realistic way and consider things that I wasn't taking into account in my impulsive excitement. Thank you!!
for an upcoming video, can you discuss the difference between regular in person/ online auditions for a company like JYP compared to an audition directly to a group like nizi project under JYP?

Unfortunately, I didn’t have a chance, and financially, I’m struggling. Well, I’m doing everything I can right now to prepare to audition late 2023 or 2024, where I will be 18 already. Hopefully it’s not too late. I’m aiming for Yuehua, hopefully everything works out!

This is exactly why these companies can get away with predatory practices. A 50/50 split, which is supposed to be the top tier, still isn't 50/50. At no level is an artist/idol considered anything more than a commodity. These companies bank farm with as little risk as possible for people dumb enough to "trainee" making sure they can monopolize all income from that commodity. It's a win win because you're sure to get paid enough to continue your bank farm, and you don't even have to pay to promote your commodity. You have the lense of a trainee/debut-ee, with no business sense. People say it's a gamble, and sure it's a gamble, but they own the house.

You're thinking of the 1% idols that achieve success. Even when they are successful, all of their portions are shared with the company, then the members
I feel like somebody from these companies should make a video or there should be a blunt and realistic description of what Trainee life is like for their company, that way they wouldn't have to invest in people who may end up changing their minds about becoming an idol.
