  • Well I was talking to a guy about buying a Diamond Carbide Silica Bit for a side project. He is also a big motorized bicycle/ large scale rc type. He noticed my huge stash of Basic SAF clutches in a box behind me in the photo lol!
DIY SAF Clutch Builds: • DIY S.A.F. Super Clutc...
Since that point where next 285 people posting asked if there for sale, answer is yes and no! yes if your buying a MS460 kit and no if your not lol!
In the process of hording lot of parts to make these kits. the hardest part so far has been getting YD100 bottom halves or even whole Yd100 Kits to part out! For now I have bought a few off normal sellers at stupid prices.
The bulk sellers are having a huge issue with getting them in the united states! Apparently cargo ships are still way behind. Everything goes to Canada then shipped to usa since faster now apparently? Yet stuff gets stolen a lot along the way and it's just crazy pricing!
So yd100 bottom halves are really a huge issue to get. If anyone has followed there price in last 3 weeks the basic YD100 Engine use to be $108 and has gone up to $135 places like Amazon and Ebay. which is crazy! Bulk prices are about $95 each but no sellers are able to deliver to the united states directly or with a ETA.
So we can only pray in November impeachments and a change of the house & congress can solve these issues soon!

I had a few myself I believe it's just because you're a builder and your damn good at so you always got to have extra parts and plus it never hurts to have extra parts so I mean whoever ask the question not to be rude but they probably just don't understand what it takes to be a builder it takes you know inventory you have to have extra stuff because like for me I have random people that just stop by the house and I'm not an expert builder but some people will want something done in certain way or whatever and I tell him that that's probably not the way to go about it I give him a little bit of change of guidance and tell him that this is easier or better way to do it and the way I do it is usually having extra parts of at least one of everything or you know never having too much of one thing can really screw you if you are builder but keep it going man

well going to be selling completed MS460. Like that sawzilla build you saw. not all crazy saw blade clutch and such but functional kit. So there all going in new kits! They are a basic version of the ones people pay 150$ but function just as well.

Hey what size are those springs you're using now ? The ones I tried were 7mm inner diameter, 14mm outer diameter And 20mm in length. Thanks I appreciate the help.

Yeah 7mm id/ 12mm od 20mm length is what everyone uses. These springs are English dimensions. 5/16 id / 1/2 od / 1.5inch length. Only 300 lbs each but! Longer travel can be preloaded so you get one hell of a nice grip since plate is hitting full force when you let off. Smaller springs need more force to compress the higher small travel force. So very nice on your clutch lever hand. Btw using 5/16- 18 bolts 1.25inch long vs metric one one these

@@BuildBreakFix Thank you for your efort and videos. However I do not get how you calculate the force. I found blue stamping springs 8mm ID / 16mm OD / 38mm length (so basically metric equivalent of yours). Maximal allowed deformation is 37,5% which is 14.25 mm (200,000 cycles lifespan) - that is when you are pressing the clutch lever. If we would asume that pressing your clutch lever moves the clutch plate by 1.5mm it would make deformation of 12,8 mm when the clutch is engaged. With the stiffness of the spring of 33,9N/mm it makes 432.2N per spring which = 44kg = 97 lbs each spring (291lbs total - 3 springs). I looked at several manufacturers and the values are almost the same. Even the smaler ones you linked in your DIY super clutch video lists maximal force of 383N = 39kg = 86 lbs. Thanks for reply.

@@tokanara color of the spring is how you ID the force! It is in metric exactly! so those are rough Ft-Lbs of each for that color spring! Always the same for every size spring! If it was 50mm by 1000mm by 6omm od and was blue then same force as this little blue spring at same dimensions! Metric color code system of force for springs over "surface area" that applies force to!

I know your using YD100 bottoms,,, is it possible to do it with a BT100 bottom?

Is the stud spacing 50x50mm on those? never taken a bt100 apart before! mostly in the uk areas!

I was wondering the same thing. But I have one bt100 with 51mm x51mm spacing other has 45mm x 45mm under the same name. Well 45x45 is iron sleeve one. Bt100 is lower piston hole position of almost 5mm compared to the yd100

55mm centre to centre on my motors, I was wondering my original BT is going on five years and I guess could do with a freshening,

@@artofdisguy3401 that is a negative then 55 is perfect one direction to far apart in the other to even cut bolt holes. Would be on edge of the jugs casting
