    You should call this video a tutorial has he did not show the general people anything about removing it. Or installing it you showed a picture Before & After that was it. 7 eights is a standard oxygen sensor size on all-American vehicles.

    I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe LT 5.7L 4D, 2WD, and have changed all four O2 sensors. However, the engine service light will come on after driving it for a day or two; Wiring appears to be fine and no exhaust leaks.I did check the heater circuit fuse which is okay. Have scanned it and keep getting OBD II codes P0134 and P0154. How do I find out if it may be a faulty ECM/ PCM?

    How did you get to the driver's side upstream wire connector to unhook it? Did you have to drop the transfer case driveshaft? It's a little crowded right there, just curious as to how you got your hand up there to disconnect it. The video wasn't very detailed on the actual process of removing or installing

    • @puntobeborn7429

      I had the same problem but finally figured it out with a tip I ran across on another video. I used a small electronics flat blade to pry up on the black chassis mounting clip onto which the O2 wiring harness slides and 'snaps' on. Once you have that clip pried up the harness can be slid off from the mounting clip and then dropped down to where you can actually have a fighting chance to disconnect it. Getting the small flat blade up in there with enough room and light to see what I was doing was very tricky. You may have to tinker around a bit to figure out how to get your hand up there with the screwdriver to pry up that black clip. I did not have to remove the shaft or anything else to remove the Bank 1 Sensor 1 O2 sensor. However I will say this is not an easy task. It is only easy task if you have exactly the right tools, techniques and past experience otherwise it is a royal PITA . I thought about posting a video but that would have required a third hand. Hope this explanation is enough to help someone. Good luck.

      100% agree. I have a 2002 4x4 suburban and I cannot get my hands up there between the transfer case shaft and the sensor. Cannot also seem to pry the clip out... chevy made this task 200% more difficult than necessary.

    Hey maybe u guys can help i got a 2001 chevy 1500 with about 190k miles im starting to have problems starting it here and there. What i notice is my RPMs drop while turning the key. Occasionally this happens at random sometimes it turns over fast and fires up sometimes the rpms dip when it turns on trying to go to 0 and goes back up. But this last case i couldnt get it to start without holding the key extra long. When i got it diagnosed abt a mounth ago for the engine light it came up as an O2 sensor. Is this sensor connected to my rpms dropping problem? Also another note is i have been going between mid grade and regular. Thank you in advance!

      I own this Van also. My veh. Starts and runs good but my fuel economy is not what it should be. My engine light came on and it indicates it's a bad Oxygen Sensor.
      However, it could be a problem with the Catalytic Converter, the MAP Sensor that needs cleaning diagnosis or replacement, a Vacuum leak, do a smoke test. It could also be plugged or dirty injectors. All these things will affect your fuel trims. You need someone with a very good Scanner to diagnose all the above.
      Good Luck....

    • @hdrjunkie
      @hdrjunkie 3 роки тому +1

      @@mikiegayosso2149 I got mine off after trying again. What I found out is. If you’re doing this in your driveway on your back, the o my way you’ll be able to get BOTH hands up there to unplug the wire and plug it back in, you need to lay long ways under the truck... (head towards the front of truck, feet towards the back end) This made it way easier to bend my arms around the driveshaft and get both hands on the plug to un couple it from the harness. I was at first sliding under the truck sideways (head toward the passenger side, feet on driver side) doing it this way it only took me about ten minutes to replace the sensor. Oh and make sure you use a swivel adapter or a ratchet that flexes at the head. Hope this helps!!

      Have you disconnected the negative battery cable from the battery for at least 15 minutes? If that doesn’t turn off the service engine soon light disconnect both the negative and positive cables from the battery and, very *important*, with nothing connecting the battery cables to the battery or *ANY* power source, using a locking-plier(vise-grip) or c-clamp connect the two battery cables to each other for at least 120 minutes ( 2 hours ). If both of the previous procedures do not turn off the service engine soon code then you may have another DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) and you should scan the truck for codes again.

    i have a 2000 sierria the holes to oxy sensors have a larger tread , the oxy sensor got a finer tread so do oxy sensors come with two different size tread? at 55 dollars for the upstream sensor and 70 dollars for the downstream i filed the treads on sensors which are aluminuim and forced the sensor into course tread hole and it does hold if you crank it tight so i don't know if sensor for seirria uses a different type sensor but sensor does work this half ass way. anybody had this problem ? input would be appreciated. ☺
