I find cleft lips very pretty, I’m an artist so that can explain it, but it’s cute, like a rabbit’s mouth, not in a dehumanizing sense, but in a cute way, I get wanting it to get it reconstructed tho, happy for you ❤
That sentence confused me. On one side, people advocate for plastic surgery (non-medical) claim it allows them to be "the best version they can be" and that's it's not done to please others. but on the other side, there's people like her who say once they learned to love themselves, they realized there was no need for it. I love seeing Jessica in this! I also went through a double mastectomy and reconstruction this past year and it's honestly refreshing to see someone with the same experience be in a ranking for plastic surgery. A lot of women are afraid of the stigma and almost refuse to call it plastic surgery, opting for reconstructive surgery. It's awesome to see this.
I had Jessica as my pastor when I was younger when her and her family lived in Florida. Might I just say, some of the most amazing people I have ever met! Her father was the head pastor of the church and was equally as amazing. I know there is a stigma around church people being very judgmental, especially the people who lead, like the pastors, but they just weren’t like that. I remember there would be some people angry at church at some of the opinions that the pastor held that didn’t align with the bigotry that so many people would cling to. Truly was a “love your neighbor as yourself” family and not a “love your neighbor only if they agree with your beliefs and judge them if they don’t.” Really miss those guys.
I thought she looked familiar, and then I checked her Instagram. I go the church she and her family used to serve at. Never met her personally, and I came at the end of her time there but she seemed like such a lovely person. What a small world we live in!
I lived in China for 6 months. I'm a non-Asian woman. I was shocked how many ads marketed to women featured Caucasian women. The few Asian women in ads had Western facial features. It's probably unfair to say Asian women want to look White through their plastic surgeries. But some of the most common plastic surgeries in Asian countries do just that: rounder eyes, larger nose bridge, etc. The woman who took offense to that notion here had one herself. The reality is in every country, women are told they need to look different, which is sad.
@@grapes2528 Probably because plenty of Asians already have natural double eyelids. BTW Asian double eyelids and white double eyelids are shaped differently, with the former being the ideal
er "rounder eyes, larger nose bridge, double eyelids" arent necessarily Caucasian traits? the size of the eyelids are different between a asian and a causasian? the preferred nose shape for a rhinoplasty in china is small and slight curved up and not just so tall and straight like caucasian nose. don't talk like you knew it all.
Cassidy with 15 plastic surgeries is surprisingly the one of the most justified. Nature gave her some horrible burden to deal with and seems like all her surgeries were at the level of making her look like normal people do. Wish her the best and zero discrimination
I haven’t had plastic surgery per say, but I have gotten Botox 3 separate times due to having multiple concussions and it helps with the headaches. It’s just that people don’t know everything just by looking at you. I’m a guy, people definitely wouldn’t think I’ve had Botox, even if it is for medical reasons
As an Asian, I can actually say a lot of Asians actually choose to look more western, whether consciously or unconsciously...I don't think most of them want to admit that. I personally have considered the jaw shaving surgery and If I hadn't been born with double eyelids already, I probably would have wanted that done. The Asian-american girl probably wasn't lying but she definitely was trying to follow both western and eastern beauty standards, I agree how the question 'so are you Asians trying to look more white' can be seen as rude
As a south East Asian who looks kinda East Asian I’m confused as to why people say Asians wanna look western or white . Maybe some do . But Kelly looks super Asian still . And Asians come in diverse looks . Some of my friends have more defined and strong jawlines and some of us have slim oval jawlines (both males and females ). I have strong jawline and cheekbones as a female and I love it . I had uneven eyes one monolid and one double . I did get double eyelid surgery to match it but never once thought oh to fit in with Eurocentric beauty standards . And if anyone asks why didn’t I make my other eye a monolid instead it’s because I don’t think it will suit my strong cheekbones and jawlines . I actually prefer the monolids and slim oval face shape more
@@at467 I dont even understand why there's so many people(especially asians in them) trying to prove that east asians get double eyelid surgery bacause they want to make them "whiter" .In fact, monolid eyes are not very common in many part of east asia,it's more like a north asia thing.
Idk about other Asians as beauty standards differ across the continent but from what I’ve seen of Koreans, they get surgeries to look like Korean celebrity women like Kim Tae Hee or BP Jisoo , and these women do not look western at all and will not be mistaken as white women in western countries. I think those are some of the things that need to be considered before Asian people such as yourself try to go after those saying that they think this stereotype is untrue. I think you are contributing to people whitewashing ethnic features; such as the double Eyelids (epicanthic folds) that Asians have, that are very different that double eyelids that white people have. I’m a korean American with an oval face, eyes with double eyelids, tall nose, pale skin , and have inherited these features from the generations of Koreans before me and never have I been mistaken to be a white woman. I find that very ironic as my features on my ethnic face are so called stereotyped “white features
When Cassidy said that she had her first surgery before she was 2, I had a feeling she had the most and perhaps a cleft. My dad was born with a cleft lip in 1958 and he had so many surgeries throughout his childhood and teenage years. Had his jaw wired shut for 6 weeks when he was 18. But he has a big scar, the technology has improved since then.
I also had double jaw surgery and bone graphing done to correct an underbite. It was the summer before by senior year of High School & I’ll never forget how mean kids were that I got plastic surgery & how no one understood that it was for medical reasons as well as correctional. I got bullied before for the underbite & then bullied after for correcting it. My only regret with that surgery was not waiting to get it done until after I graduated. Thank you for having a large variety of reasonings behind the surgeries. That surgery saved me from so much mental & physical pain ❤️
the way the pastor was telling the group where she should be and the other girls were telling her she was wrong like they knew her better than she did, that rubbed me the wrong way
@@ysbsin5035 Yes but if she has only had 2 she probably knows she shouldn't be towards the top. Just like the girl who had 16 should have been like uh i dont think I should be at the bottom
I figured the person with the most would have had a cleft pallet. I have a friend who was born with that and had 12 reconstructive surgeries and it still isn’t fixed. Also wanted to add this because of Ahmad’s comment at the end about “elective” surgeries: a kidney transplant is considered elective, so take that into consideration if someone tells you their insurance wouldn’t cover something because it was labeled as elective. It might still have been necessary to them for their quality of life, just not to the insurance company. I would know. A kidney transplant is so much better than dialysis.

Has anyone here actually watched a nose job being done? They love to call it none evasive by comparison, but that ****** is nuts. They literally cut and pull your nose skin up and then shave your bones with a drill. I can see why people are so drained and really need that recovery after....
I relate so much to Cassidy I was born with cleft lip and palate so not the exact one she has but still and I’ve gone through so many surgeries all medical but still I was thinking about getting jaw surgery but I’ve started loving myself more and more and I don’t think I need it I got very lucky and wasn’t that badly effected by it just a period of time where I absolutely dreaded how I looked and to fix that I got a glow up and now I’m way happier
Wow, I learned a lot from this and I believe this video can help with destigmatizing plastic surgery. At first, I always used to view people who got plastic surgery as not loving themselves. However, after looking at this video, I realized that plastic surgery can be used for many reasons like to improve health and in some instances, it can help a person love themselves more. So who am I to judge a person's personal choice.
I've always and so have people, differentiated between plastic reconstruction surgery and cosmetic surgery. There is a difference between surgery that heals and reconstructs and surgery for vanity.
Would you mind correcting that typo in "lift" to "lip"? As someone with a CLP, I would appreciate if people reading the comments don't get misinformed.
Both me and my mom technically had plastic surgery , her to save her life and for me to better my life. As a little girl at like 7 my doctors realized I couldn’t pee correctly so they had open my urine slit open more. And for my mom she fell and fractured her sternum. They moved her peck muscle into the hole of the fracture
Those are surgeries, not plastic surgeries. Plastic surgeries are when someone modifies your body, out of the natural, to change something. Like the lady with the huge boobs who doesn't look normal. Plastic surgery can be for medical reasons, for example, someone who broke their nose and is crooked.
I had a breast reduction too. So so happy I did it. My back is still recovering but its already made so much difference. I had to differently sized breasts. This really messed with my spine and it made me stand crooked. Now that they're basically equal and smaller it's such a relief. Also went from 32J(smaller one being 32F) to 32E which is funny. Nice to see people with the same issue. It's not an easy decision to make and it was a very difficult recovery, the scars are still not properly healed and they will be very visible for the rest of my life. I knew this beforehand but something really neede to be done and I accepted the consequences. I'm very happy I did it and I feel more comfortable in my body.
Really wish they had expanded a bit more on their feelings towards specific surgeries. Like Kelly said she hated the lipo and got Kybella to try and fix it.
Jessica is STUNNING, her personality was so calming & lovely , she reminded me of caroline from tvd i also felt like some of the girls desperately wanted her to be higher on scale 🤔
I use to be unhappy about certain facial features about myself. I use to wear makeup and thought it made everything better, but, it just made that unhappy feeling worse because I constantly needed to cover it the truth and makeup myself to a point where I felt is appropriate for the public. In the Covid19 pandemic outbreak we were forced to wear facial masks. During this time I later on preferred to not wear any. As time went by I realized that there is nothing wrong and that the Idea of changing myself to look a certain acceptable way comes from outside myself rather than in and that my unhappiness was a weakness the world's beauty trends fed off, and instead of making me feel better about myself it made me think that I will only feel better once I got an "easy" fix done, which is false. I feel like many people feel this way is the out route because many advertise it that way and the beauty industry actually wants it this way. I am happy with my natural look. It took me to accept me for who I am and what Uniqueness I have. I don't want to be a copy of another, which many of those getting these surgeries not actually get. Once your happiness become worse about yourself you will be pulled towards such places and you will get your fix. I suggest many of you who are currently unhappy about yourself, find the mental capacity amd ability to accept it. No plastic will ever romve the real you. That's why one surgery never feels enough because it became easy to cover up your lie but actually you're lying to yourself mostly. Positive confidence comes from the mental ability to find yourself and BUILD on what you have. Don't fix yourself because others say you can and that you need one, cause you don't.
I'mnot trying to be rude, just honestly very curious behind the thought process of the asian girl. She says that she is annoyed by the stereotype that asians get surgery to look more white and fit the western beauty standards (which I totally understand), but then proceeds to reveal that she has done a double eyelid surgery herself... isn't that a bit weird or like double standards??
😂🤣😂 lmaoo I WAS THINKING THE EXACT SAME THING. SHE ABSOLUTELY, TOTALLY CONTRADICTED HER OWN STATEMENT AND ARGUMENT SHE WAS "TRYING" TO MAKE , I THINK SHE JUST FELT SELF CONSCIOUS ABOUT THE TRUTH AND HER TRUTH !! 😂🤣😂
@@hidesbreadcrumbs ofc Asians have double eyelids too. Kelly saying that she thinks it's a weird stereotype that Asians get plastic surgery to appeal to Eurocentric beauty standards...only to reveal her surgeries which are commonly associated with white beauty standards like the double eyelid. The call is coming from inside the house. EDIT: I said "commonly associated with white beauty standards," not that getting double eyelid surgery was exclusive to whites.
yeah idk if that one was convincing to me. like girl it's ok to admit that those beauty standards have been exported worldwide and we're all affected by them. there's no shame there since we're only human.
That's a misconception actually east Asian beauty standards have actually remained pretty consistent for many years a lot of the features that are changed are naturally present in East Asians also just rarer. E.g. the result of double eyelid surgery doesn't actually look like white people's eyes they look more similar to natural double eyelids in Asians.
These traits being naturally present in East Asians doesnt change the fact that the beauty standards are Eurocentric. The reason why these rare but natural facial feature have become the beuty standards vs other equally rare facial traits is because the are closer in apperance to Eurocentric beauty standards.
Kelly said people think Asians get surgery to look more European but respectfully all the surgeries she had were to make her look more European. No judgement but I wouldn't have said that because she contradicted herself.
Respectfully, I agree not all Asians r trying 2 b white by getting double eyelids since there r Asians with double eyelids. I think another way to say it is that the strong preference for double eyelids is influenced by Western media being the largest global influencer. I think sometimes it is made to seem that Asians are not influenced or pressured by any culture outside of their own but that is not always true
Great group of people. Kudos to them for doing something that made them feel better about themselves. Only thing is I wish they listed all the surgeries they got. Some had a higher number of surgeries but only mentioned some of them. Also filler/kybella/botox are not surgeries. They are non invasive cosmetic procedures.
@@Beebzinthehouse if you look it up the cosmetic procedures I mentioned they are not surgery. Yes a needle is going through your skin. But a flu shot or or any other shot is going through your skin too and that's not surgery.

That sentence confused me. On one side, people advocate for plastic surgery (non-medical) claim it allows them to be "the best version they can be" and that's it's not done to please others.
but on the other side, there's people like her who say once they learned to love themselves, they realized there was no need for it. So which one is it? To me, it seems like although the former may say they do it for themselves, really at the end of the day, most if not all plastic surgery is done to fit in with the people around you/your surroundings, and to say otherwise is probably a lie

Truly was a “love your neighbor as yourself” family and not a “love your neighbor only if they agree with your beliefs and judge them if they don’t.” Really miss those guys.
oh wow, that's amazing! Glad there are some people that are truly welcoming in their churches

Wholeheartedly agree. How can she say that she doesn't get surgery to look "whiter" and at the same time mention that she got double eyelid surgery??
Also, some of them get mad when non asians put eyeliner to have those foxy eyes that kinda give asian looks
@@grapes2528 I was confused by that part and thought I was missing something 😂
@@grapes2528 Probably because plenty of Asians already have natural double eyelids. BTW Asian double eyelids and white double eyelids are shaped differently, with the former being the ideal
er "rounder eyes, larger nose bridge, double eyelids" arent necessarily Caucasian traits? the size of the eyelids are different between a asian and a causasian? the preferred nose shape for a rhinoplasty in china is small and slight curved up and not just so tall and straight like caucasian nose. don't talk like you knew it all.

I agree with you.
I actually prefer the monolids and slim oval face shape more
True,,
@@at467 I dont even understand why there's so many people(especially asians in them) trying to prove that east asians get double eyelid surgery bacause they want to make them "whiter" .In fact, monolid eyes are not very common in many part of east asia,it's more like a north asia thing.

Jordyn is a natural beauty. Blueprint!!
Jessica looks like a Hollywood actress 🌹 Simply GORGEOUS !
She did remind me of Christina Applegate.
I would love to hear more about your experience!

How about going to a gym?
I've always and so have people, differentiated between plastic reconstruction surgery and cosmetic surgery. There is a difference between surgery that heals and reconstructs and surgery for vanity.

Both me and my mom technically had plastic surgery , her to save her life and for me to better my life. They moved her peck muscle into the hole of the fracture
I'm so scared now. I fell an injured my ribs. I'm wearing a rib brace. I don't want to move my muscles around.😭😭😭😫😫😫
Those are surgeries, not plastic surgeries. Plastic surgeries are when someone modifies your body, out of the natural, to change something. Like the lady with the huge boobs who doesn't look normal. Plastic surgery can be for medical reasons, for example, someone who broke their nose and is crooked.
I'm here to tell you we don't care 😅 honestly that's gross and I wish I didn't read that
I had a breast reduction too.
It’s your body, plastic surgery made people feel comfortable with themselves and I love this episode bc there’s more to just bbl.

E.g. the result of double eyelid surgery doesn't actually look like white people's eyes they look more similar to natural double eyelids in Asians.
double eyelids are also an asian beauty standard tho and many asians have them naturally so it's not just a white thing lol
Having double eyelids is not a white beauty standard. Educate yourself please.
These traits being naturally present in East Asians doesnt change the fact that the beauty standards are Eurocentric. The reason why these rare but natural facial feature have become the beuty standards vs other equally rare facial traits is because the are closer in apperance to Eurocentric beauty standards.
Corn girl felt flattered even tho the others were able to guess over half of her surgeries correctly 😂
