I just got this camera, and I am realizing how sneaky they are. 1- No removable memory card so you have to move everything over LTE and you have a number of allotted “credits” you very quickly run out of. 2- Cam links to phone via bluetooth, but all video out of cam is thru LTE to nickel and dime us to the max! 3- We can’t choose to put in our own SIM card in there, cause they have this dirty deal with AT&T, otherwise I’d just pop in my own SIM! 4- Wifi option is not available, obviously to fleece us out of our money by forcing us to use data “credits” to get any of our own video out of this camera. TOTAL SCAM! Returning it tomorrow! 👎🏽
All of your video is available over 4G LTE from anywhere & Direct WiFi when your near your car. You do not need to use any data to extract any of the video if you choose to use Direct Wifi. The 4G LTE allows the camera to contact you when something important is happening - a dent, ding, break-in and now with Owl 911 Assist a LIVE Agent will call to check on you if there is a serious crash and can help deploy 911 to your location. If anything serious is sensed then the video is sent to your phone directly and no credits are used to view or DL. Things that DO cost credits -> 1.Live Viewing in and around your car from a remote location 2. Remote video viewing of the footage stored on the camera 3. Voice Capture "OK PRESTO" clips that go back in time to send you quick clips directly to your phone.
Dude if you got an iPhone you can buy for $.99 a month 50GB. Meaning that you never run out, if this is imposible to you download ITunes to your computer and keep the videos!!!
I had a owl cam. My car was broken into and owlcam never sent me a photo of my car being broken into. I called the company and they refused to help me at all. So I’m out $350 for the Owlcam, $34 in cash that was in my glove box and $240 for the broken window. Thanks Owlcam!

After the original company went bankrupt and the present company took owl over it went right downhill!!!! Wish I could find a similar WORKING replacement.
Do you have all your receipts for the camera? Etc? Save them and get an address for the attorney general in your state. It's about time this so called company be held responsible. I was paying $19.95 per month for service, yet I hardly had service.

RETURN IT!!! I have used Owlcam alongside a Garmin for the last two years. The Owlcam is 3x as expensive and performs worse. And they just ended the LTE connection, now you have to pay monthly for their "service". My complaints for their camera are: fans run constantly and are louder than the engine noise in my car, the camera constantly falls off the windshield, and the camera overheats any time it goes over 70 degrees (F). The overheating is an issue because it just stays off for the first few minutes... 55% of car accidents happen within 5 minutes of leaving the home. Shame on Owlcam for charging 3x for an LTE device and then switching it to a monthly service cost. Bait and switch, anyone?
I love all the features of this camera. My only resistance is how it does in severe heat. I live in Austin TX and it gets HOT inside a parked car. How does it hold up?
Just received mine today! One suggestion I have is to give a new buyer one day of unlimited LTE connection so they can try it out and figure out how things work. I used 10 of my credits just in the first 30 minutes of having it set up testing out how the app works. Love the product so far though!

Only Galaxies they support are S8 and S9. I just bought a refurb S6 that there's no reason shouldn't be supported. Guess I'll spend my money elsewhere. Edwin, the camera comes with 1 year of 4G LTE Instant Video service included in the price. After the first year you pay $10 per month or $99 per year for the service. The service allows you to view all of your video from anywhere, Live View your car from anywhere, and allows the camera to send you video alerts and notifications if something happens while you're away.

I live in a neighborhood where drivers pretty much don't care about vehicles in parking lots and I had at least 3 hit and runs over the last few years, so now I just want to get dashcams for my vehicle to prevent further headaches. What is the owlcam camera range if my car is parked? Should I have to get 4 different cams in order to have the 4 sides of my vehicle covered? I want to avoid any further hit and runs to my car and I don't know if an owl cam or 2 would be enough.
So instead of you having unrestricted access to your video, they prevent access to data storage, unless you pay them for your own recorded content! Funny, anything I want insurance or the police to see should be on a easily emailed file. I have a PC...don't need everything on my phone. The "buy credits" thing puts this in the cameras for stupid people category for me. SD card with blue tooth would make sense, and keep everybody happy.
What if someone breaks into the car, rips the camera out, and smashes it? Is it possible to still have the footage up until the point the device was smashed?

No there isn't a way to turn off the green flashing lights. I've had my owl camera for almost 4 years ago. When the first company went bankrupt this company CALL PASS took owl over and that's when it went downhill. I took my camera out of the car because I was so frigan aggravated!!
@jay23cr its good that its not removable memory so if its stolen the person can not have access to the video, if you want to extract video do direct connection the only thing from what i see is that the video will be 720 instead of 1080 which doesn't make sense but they can always change that i guess with a software update... I just got one and I will be using it for my new york bad driving compilations.... its a great concept and so far I'm happy with it... I wish they had a 4k with 60fps but i can wait on that for now lol.

What I have gotten from this video and I just received mine. The clips are sent to the owlcam app, you can transfer them from the app to your camera roll, you can text it, email it.

What happens if a thief steals the camera while breaking in? Where does that footage go? That seems to be the trend now in dash cam break-ins. With many units you simply lose the footage because it’s stored on the camera. How is yours different with regards to theft? Thank you
Jordan, the second Owl senses a bump or impact it begins to sending still images and video right to your phone. By the time the thief can make it to the camera you'll have thief selfies already sent that you can share with the police. If the camera is stolen we'll replace it for free, we just ask you to share the video with us. =)

Which happened to my car Mar 23rd, 2023; the camera recorded him in my car for 7 minutes , as he used his flashlight , after my interior lights went off, but he had on a ski mask revealing his eyes and nose: European or Hispanic light build: nothing much for the police to go off by except his distinct thief coat desogn.

Why does it take 30 seconds of someone being inside the car before it takes a pic/video? And why no WiFi connectivity ?
the video quality on the iPhone is so pixelated, can't tell anything. Downloading the clips separately helps but still not HD in my opinion.
Do you also get notifications alert for just motion sensors without impact your car ?

Can two phones be paired to the owl? Like if the wife uses my car it will recognize her while she walks up to car with her phone.

I keep getting g notifications on my phone whenever I move my car. Shouldn’t it be able to recognize me or how does that work? Please help
Does the owl cam have lights on it or were those floodlights part of the car when you bumped the quarter panel to demonstrate?

What do the credits mean? What are they for? Do you have to pay money?
1 Credit = 1 minute of remote viewing. That's either 1 minute of Live View when you're away from your car or 1 minute of remote video viewing of your Video History while away from your car. Lastly, we do charge 1 credit for Voice Tagging because it essentially sends two 30 second clips right to your phone over 4G LTE
Note: All of your video can be downloaded over WiFI direct without using credits , just have to be near the car.

What if the carjacker just wears a mask? Won't that pretty much circumvent the security?
The thief is already wearing a mask because of the Plandemic 5Govid .
Which happened to my car Mar 23rd, 2023; the camera recorded him in my car for 7 minutes , as he used his flashlight , after my interior lights went off, but he had on a ski mask revealing his eyes and nose: European or Hispanic light build: nothing much for the police to go off by except his distinct thief coat desogn.

These cameras are useless. Out of 3 car break ins over the past year and a half, my camera picked up NOTHING on each ocassion. NOTHING!
Do not buy this camera! Faulty and they wont replace it. They will just recommend to buy a new one. Please save your money and time
If you have Android, forget it! nothing but problems! And remember having this system is like having another payment! Not worth it.

Look at this video!! It was three (3) years ago, when owl used to work. It no longer works like that. Don't buy this camera. I've had mine for 4 years now. It's no good!!!!
