@@cordellsmith4028 cheers, I did in the end. Had to drill the lock out which was hard because the barrel spins. chipped the paint when the drill slipped 🤦. But at least I've got a decent *metal* encased lock now!
Hiya. So why do you need to remove your Transit door barrel. In my video I said the inner door card needs to be removed. Somewhere on the inner barrel surround you will see a hole. With the key in the barrel, turn it to the right or left. Hold the key in that postion then reach inside and push a screwdriver type tool into the hole I mentioned earlier. You will hear a click and then the barrel slides out. But again this can only happen if you have the key. Thank you.
@@cordellsmith4028 yes I keep hearing there is something to push in so that I can remove the barrel. I have tried pushing on all three sides of the barrel and turning the key to release it. The only thing I can think is the push in part is on the part that I can't access. I need to remove the barrel so I can remove the entire latch assembly. The plastic coating is starting to come off and jam up the latch. I don't want to take it to a dealer and end up paying six or $800. It needs to be taken out properly cleaned and then reassembled. I just can't find the push in part of the barrel it's not on the top it's not on the bottom and it's not on the side that I can access. It must be on the inside I would have to drill a hole. It's getting ridiculous. Thanks anyway

@@cordellsmith4028 yes I did watch that video. On my van it's the driverside door that I can't access. If you notice on his van it's the passenger side door. Therefore the button you need to press is facing the front of the vehicle. So on mine the barrel would be in the opposite position and the push pin would be on the inside. From this direction I can reach the top the side and the bottom but I can't get to the opposite side that is surrounded by steel. Got me? Going to attempt it today with a friend who's a mechanic. Thank you I'll let you know how it goes
@@cordellsmith4028 good news. I found the button. No one had the ability to simply say the button needs to be accessed from inside the housing. Not on the outer part of the cylinder like you would think. I had to bend a piece of metal back from the housing of the latch assembly, shine a light in there and there it was. I'm going to have to make the video since there doesn't seem to be one in the world. Cheers and Long live Ukraine
