The Abbey Road medley is the most genius thing I have ever heard on an album. The transition into the different songs where amazing. Every song a hit in itself. To think these where all unfinished songs that they combined to make one masterpiece. Genius !!!!

@@raffy23-k8c the key factor had already happened way back in 1965 when Paul wrote and performed alone on stage "Yesterday".. Since that pivotal moment John understood that Paulie boy has grown up and was really able to work at the highest level on his own terms without any other member's help...That's also why John started loosing interest in the band right after their last tour in 1966, giving de facto the leadership to Paul..

The version you played is a preliminary and rejected arrangement of the famous medley that was put together and added along with other material to the 50th anniversary of the re-release of Abbey Road in 2019. This not the original "medley" that made Side 2 of Abbey Road so famous! Putting "Her Majesty" right after "Mean Mr. Mustard" kills the energy build-up, momentum of the medley, was not the intended and final arrangement back in '69. And some of the tracks are different than on the awesome original album. I first heard this 2019 "restored version" only once, and that was enough for me! Here is a link to the original 1969 Abbey Road side 2, played from an actual vinyl LP record and sounds great for vinyl. Perhaps before playing it you should do a first-time reaction to it as a "Comparative Reaction" and hear how we got the medley in 1969 and compare. Also note the crosswalk photo on the album cover behind the turntable in the video link is the iconic one. The photo in your insert is one of many takes before the photographer and the lads got the awesome shot that is recognizable around the world. Enjoy!... ua-cam.com/video/pAIUxGn9lCI/v-deo.html ✌😎

The restored remastered version is how it was originally intended to be. Her Majesty was taken out and made a "hidden track" due to it not being seen to be socially acceptable re: the Queen and a belly full of wine.

The song about 'Her Majesty' and the 'gotta get a belly full of wine' song was removed from the medley prior to the official Abbey Road LP release. Her Majesty does gets tacked on to the end of the medley (after many seconds pass) This "Restored" version has reinstated Her Majesty within the medley. So technically this is not the official release because on the official LP, Mean Mr. Mustard flows straight into Polythene Pam. I still absolutely adored your reaction. You have such a wonderful way about you. Best wishes, RNB

All four Beatles have a solo in "The End". In the guitar solos McCartney, Harrison and Lennon (in that order) perform a rotating sequence of three, two-bar solos. The first two bars are played by Paul, the second two by George, and the third two by John. Then the sequence repeats twice more. You can really tell whose bars are whose because of their distinctive styles. Great idea and it sounds amazing.

Listen to me. Liverpool born and bred. Aged 8 in 1969. My dad bought the LP from Cranes in Hanover Street. In the 70s us kids stole it off him. My dad was never cool, very old-fashioned in many ways, but this appealed to him and he had a pride in positive things about our city. PS on his vinyl version Her Majesty comes at the end of the final track. Logical. One of the mist brilliant albums ever. The genius of the Beatles was they appealed to everyone, all classes, races and religions and backgrounds. I am so proud they came from Liverpool. To Paul, John, George and Ringo ❤❤❤❤

'Her Majesty" was removed from the final mix because it spoiled the flow. (I agree with the decision.) Polythene Pam was also a real person. This was the bowdlerised version of the album that was issued in the US. It's absolutely unbelievable that the US record company were allowed to hack it about from the perfection of its UK release, and completely lose the natural continuity of the song elements. I guess by that time in their career, the Beatles were past caring, with so many other problems to deal with towards the end - death of Brian Epstein, the 'Beatles are bigger than Jesus' kerfuffle, Paul's cannabis bust in Japan, George Harrison walking out, thuggish wannabe manager Allen Klein's attempts to usurp their finances, being shown that even they weren't above the law when the police raided and closed down the rooftop concert, John leaving - so they probably felt that the issue of the changes to the medley were inconsequential by comparison. It was out there, and nothing could be done about that without years of legal wrangling.

This isn't the medley, as it's referred to. The medley consists of the four tracks Sun King, Mean Mr. Mustard, Polythene Pam, and She Came In Through the Bathroom Window. This track is one of my favorites; You Never Give Me Your Money.

    • @debjorgo
      @debjorgo 2 роки тому +1

Most people agree the medley starts with You Never Give Me Your Money (a song brought back in Carry That Weight) and ends with The End (or Her Majesty). Look at the Wiki page for Abbey Road.

Hi Ambrose, I looked up the Spanish vibe part of "Sun King" and it translates to:
"Because of my great happiness towards my love, I must become one with her."
There is no other band like this one. Thank you

The foreign words don’t mean anything. About the mixture of Spanish and Italian words in the lyrics, Lennon said, "...we just made up... Paul knew a few Spanish words from school, you know. So we just strung any Spanish words that sounded vaguely like something." Listen closely. It ends with “cake-and-eat-it parasol. It’s like in “I Am the Walrus.” Coo-coo ka-joob!

you're listening to the wrong version. this isn't the original version of the released album. the song sequence on the actual album is different and is actually better than this. i see people listening to the wrong versions of songs and albums all the time. its a youtube problem. listeners don't know what they're listening to isn't the original or best version available.
its really quite irritating to tell you the truth. the internet is really, really screwed up. its altering and misrepresenting reality. and that's NOT a good thing. thanks for the video, nonetheless.

I dislike how they moved "Her Majesty" from the END of the original album release in 1969 (a few seconds after "THE END" finishes) and placed it BETWEEN "Mean Mr. Mustard" and "Polythene Pam" it doesn't FIT there (even though I hear that is where they originally placed it before releasing the final album in 1969 where it was moved to the very end of the record) It TOTALLY INTERRUPTS the flow of MEAN MR MUSTARD and POLYTHENE PAM. NOW the trouble is, ALL the reactors are reacting to THIS version AMBROSE CYNTHIA just played and NOT the ORIGINAL 1969 like all of us heard back then. It really really spoils that part of the medley.

Her Majesty completely ruined the Medley since Golden Slumber Carey That Weight and The End felt like the perfect end and then A little unexpected jingle plays about Paul wanting to get the Queens attention
And I made sure I removed this song
From the album when I listen to it
      On music apps

I really dislike this version. The idiot who remastered it also changed the track order, in the original version Mean Mr Mustard is followed by Polythene Pam and not Her Majesty which is the final track. The original just flows beautifully, this version jars, it's an awful transition. Why would anyone do that? 🤮

Sun king? The non-english part is spanish. Those are a few words, that sound pretty good. Nothing else. John Lennon had a Faible for Fleetwood Mac in 1969 (also seen in the Peter Jackson documentary "Get Back", how Lennon raved about the then new band) and made this track called "Sun King", which was oriented at "Mac's" famous instrumental "Albatross".
