I get it, Retro. For me, it's those opening chords of Golden Slumbers and Paul singing, " Once there was a way to get back homeward... " I grew up with the Beatles. Thirteen when I heard them in 1963. Saw them in Toronto in '65 and '66. With Martin's string arrangement and Paul's vocal, Golden Slumbers signals the end of a remarkable, creative group that enriched our lives and continues to do so, now and forever.

Though this version said "original".it is, but it isn't. The original version was edited prior to its release in 1969. How you know you are hearing what we heard backi 1969 is simple. If Her Majesty appears between Mean Mr. Mustard and Polythene Pam it is not the released version. You see Her Majesty was removed from the medley and appears after The End fades out. Sorry Hun, I know you tried. But the addition of Her Majesty really disrupts the flow from Mustard to Pam. Love your channel.

We'd like to invite you A R, to hear the medley as we did back in 1969. The vinyl version. With it's warmth that's missing from the re-mastered versions. We listened to Side 2 from the start. Hearing the medley on its own is hearing it out of context. Here Comes The Sun and Because are as important to the medley as any song in it. John's Because is as beautiful a song as you will ever hear. We would have our headphones on, album cover leaned up against the wall. Right behind the turntable. It's called the Side 2 medley, because you always started from the beginning. No one ever put the stylus down starting the side on track 3, You Never Give Me Your Money. Lastly be aware of the length of the entire side. 'The End' may not be what you think it is!! Here is a link. I listened to it and sign off on it, It's the real version. I think the remastered version (2019) is better than the original, it's closer to what the Beatles wanted, it rocks more. It's closer to Let It Be.
The Beatles themselves didn't like the smoothness of the original.
But, in the end, it's all a matter of taste! 😉

It wasn't Tim Robinson who came through the bathroom window (I hope ...😄), but Diane Ashley. When the Beatles were working at the Abbey Road studio, the street was often besieged by fans. Even today in times without Corona, when every year thousands of fans and tourists re-enact the Beatles' "zebra crossing-walk". Paul McCartney has a house there 5 minutes away and Diane went there with friends and climbed through the open window in McCartney's house. The guitar solos at the end are played alternately by Lennon, Harrison and McCartney and "Her majesty" belongs in the original version at the end of the medley. By the way, the Beatles are of course absolutely extraordinary, but every decade produces good musicians, one decade more, than the other.

Nope was not me just having some fun good story about Lady Diane (Not that Lady Diane) coming through the bathroom window to Paul's house. The line you never give your money you only give me your funny paper does that refer to the Beatles about to break up and the legal battles that were to come?

@@timrobinson7373 The song relates, encrypted, to the problems, that arose in the discussion about the new manager Allen Klein, who had been rejected by McCartney. And unencrypted it looks like this: The song consists of four different parts: You Never Give Me Your Money, Out of College and One Sweet Dream as well as an outro. The first part (You Never Give Me Your Money) describes the Beatles' financial situation at the time, the second part (Out of College) is a nostalgic look back at the beginnings of the Beatles. The third part (One Sweet Dream) is about saying goodbye and traveling by car. The fourth part of the song is the transition to the next song.
