I learned to play on a Bandit back in the 90s, the music academy had a pile of them. I asked why they used these in particular, they said they’ve never had to get one fixed since the 80s. These things are great and really underrated.
@@sckwong3888 are you Chinese? Saying that Chinese made music equipment is bad is kind of an old story. I feel like things have gotten better in that regard. Plus they make great tubes.
Nice demo and good palying man. Just sold my old red stripe bandit from 2005 to a mate and he didn't like the tone. After I came over and dialed some tones in he is happy as can be, and your video for helped me a ton. So thanks!
I have the new version. The other guitarist in my band plays a Marshall JCM900 with a 4x12, I just bring this little combo to practice. Not only did I manage to match his amp tonewise (loose damping, high gain, gain at 6, bass at 5, mids maxed, treble at 7), but my amp is also louder than his. I keep it set on 20 watts and keep the volume between 1 and 2 and the other guys are constantly bitching at me to turn it down. I could connect it to a 4x12 if I wanted, but that would be overkill unless I was playing a large outdoor gig. All with no maintenance, and it was a cheap amp to begin with. This is the amp every guitarist should have IMO.
@@schecter5035 You may have to tweak it a bit to get the sound you want, and the stock speaker needs to be broken in to really shine. I hope you like it brother. It took a while to grow on me, but nowadays I couldn't imagine not having a Bandit.
@@JanXD Yes it is. I have on more than one occasion compared a new speaker to an older one and they sound different. After a few months they sound a lot closer than they did when the speaker was new.
Hello, thanks for the video, excellent review. I have a bandit 112, a model equal to the video, the sound in both channels is great and I love it, but the signal from simulated direct output is not good. Please, how is this connection? Is it balanced or unbalanced, mono, stereo? Other users ask the same on the web. Thanks for the reply.
I have the same amp and i want to record with it, but i don't know how, should i buy an audio interface and connect it into the speaker simulated output or there's another way to do it?
I got that amp from a friend who died last year. Problem for me is, that on the gain channel it sounds clean. I can’t turn this one up over 2 on Pre Gain, cause it gets to loud 😂
Man the solution is in the back of the amp... Youll find a switch to dim the output to a half and even a quarter of its full without loosing the tone... It gets really helpfull in the purpose of practising at home
dude, U just sold me on this. I Feel this. Been wandering around......Randalls, Peaveys, Crate etc back n forth. 50 watt , 120 watt , Red stripe, Silver or Teal stripe blah not sure exactly which way to go to get what I want & need in an amp. ... This video just ended my wandering around & I know now I need to find a Peavey Bandit 112 ,thanx Can I ask exactly what year is listed on the backl of your amp so I know , dont want too old or too new. Needs to be this exact curcuit & options
I have one of these and im planning to sell it sooner.. i cant get the tone i want plus i have financial problem.. now i want to.keep it.. 😊😊😊 this amp.really rocks .
I have this amp, Whenever I do power chords on the e and a it sounds really bad yet the a and d strings sound fine, happens when it's clean and when my distortion pedal is connected please help
Your E and A strings don't have enough tension. Cut a piece of foam sponge and put it under those 2 strings behind the nut on the headstock. The strings won't be as floppy and vibrate with a tighter amplitude.
Best transistor amplifier ever made. Use the clean Warm and distortion Hi Gain. It simulates like valves and does well.
I agree ☝️ unbelievably good also I prefer the Peavey over my tube amps which is no mean feat.

That was a made in USA but now it's made in China..can it last that's left to be seen
