Have people forgot how to drive? Do we need lane assist, automatic braking, parking assist, flat screens for dash and radio ? Seems like a lot of unnecessary bs.
This is a big part of the problem... But it's not the manufacturers who pushed for it. Our government technically doesn't require it but they do punish these manufacturers that do not have any of these gimmicky features. The manufacturers then do what they always do which is pass along the extra cost to the consumer.
Honestly, the price inflation for the WRX is really frustrating. The WRX TR is more expensive than the 2021 WRX STI after adjusting for inflation. And it doesn't have 300+hp, a strong transmission, front and rear diffs, a DCCD, etc. I don't think they're going to make an STI for under $50k, and that's too much for a lot of people. If you make the median ($50k) and you don't already own a house, you're not going to afford a $50k car let alone a $60k car. Granted, if you adjust the 2005 STI for inflation, it was around $50k, but that was at a time when the economy was significantly better and housing and the cost of living wasn't so outrageous.
@FlatironsTuning It is! I bought a BRZ for under $25k in 2013 and a MK7 GTI for under $25k after a bunch of incentives in 2017. There were so many sub $30k options just a few years ago! Even a base Miata with no LSD is over $30k now :(
If you have the skills and the free time built>bought has never been a better option. If you don't, i hope you're making goooood money. My fleet of toys cost less than a new BRZ, are cheap to maintain, and have no electrical nannies.
It’s a shame that’s there’s that much greed in the world that a good size group of car enthusiasts can’t come together and build a new brand that unifies the world which is entirely possible btw but most likely will never happen between the lack of unity or from the bigger guys pushing you out
Hey, so I have asked around about modding an FB25d, but the answer I have gotten was it is not a good platform. Never any details of why it is not good for modding other than compression ratio and the CVT that is paired with it. Could the issues be explained a bit more in depth?
Pretty crazy that you can't get any performance oriented car under 30k anymore.......at least there's options under 40k? I use a kodi thermos and that fits just fine in my wrx. Only holds about 2 cups worth.
Collectors have completely ruined the market for people who want to own a car someone dreamed of driving when they were growing up. (I'm looking at YOU, pre-merger AMG collector scum)
It’s brutal these days. None of the new ‘fun’ cars under 60k you guys even listed were good. You can still get a v8 mustang new under 60k I think… that and the Toyota are good. Also having some dumbass there reading in the background who claims not to have seen car prices since 2006 should leave and bring someone else in. You other two are interesting.

For the 2025 model year, there are officially longer any new Enthusiast cars available under $30,000 in the US...
Which feels pretty crazy, right?
Thanks for watching and Stay Tuned!

@FlatironsTuning Ugg, Subaru just updated the 2025 BRZ on their build configurator today and every trim is up $1000... :|

Not my cup of tea but for what it’s worth, the VB automatic could probably be a fast daily. Not sure if accessport tuning is available yet..

TR now means Track Ready for the VB.
Yes they are.
Anyone who is interested I have a Subaru Sti and a 1973 MG midget.
