I have a question Is it ok if I choose to not come out as non binary to my family since I’m from an African American family and my family is closed minded and old fashioned
My friends are supportive about it and my friend is even nonbinary too. But how should I come out to my BEST FRIEND, she is not that educated on LGBTQ+ things involving gender and pronouns. And I’m pretty sure that she will be okay with it but I’m not sure. How should I tell her?
I’m 15 and I came out to my mum a while ago as non-binary after debating to myself if I should 😅, and her response to it was- “HUH?!”. She knew what non-binary was! Because I’d told her a couple days before what it meant in preparation. Blah blah- stuff happened and she says that she is fine as long as I’m ME but she thinks I’m too young to know anything about it. A couple days later I asked her if she could call me by They/Them pronouns instead of she/her and she said that no one calls anyone by they or them and went on how it isn’t a thing. Pls if someone is reading this could you give me some advice I don’t know what to do :,) No matter what I tell her I couldn’t get her to believe me.
Spanish speaker here!! People are using the letter E to try and remove pronouns from words so like friend in Spanish is “Amigo/Amiga” but it would be Amigue. Now it does sound weird and there are times where it doesn’t make sense, so it makes me a bit uncomfortable hahaha that’s why I just go for she/her pronouns. I hate it here 😂😂
Thank you so much for that Laurenzo, I still struggle sometimes cause I’m out as non-binary finally and people say they’re supportive, yet they still don’t call me by my name or use my pronouns , I mean I go by any pronouns and ppl know that but they keep only referring to me as she/her ! I know it will take them some time but I hope they can call me by name soon ! Also since ppl don’t call me by name irl even though they know it and everyone online call me by name , sometimes when ppl call me /deadname/ irl I don’t answer or turn around cause I feel like they’re not calling me if that makes sense 😅✨
I'm a closetted nombinary ftm, it's hard & stressful being closetted. But I do wanna come out. My mom is anstrict Jehovah's witness & anytime we bring up lgbt+ she goes into full blown rants about sin & religion. I don't think she's going to handle it well when I'm ready to come out
Pronouns are weird it’s even hard for me at times to remember my own pronouns like using them in my head i call myself the right name but pronouns are even hard for me to get correct
This made me realize that there’s a strangely high overlap between my non-binary friends & my Italian speaking friends... The last time I had a conversation about using their pronouns in Italian v. English w/ one of them, this friend decided it was easier to use the pronouns they were assigned at birth (in Italian) instead of going through the hassle of explaining gender identity. We were also working at a school in a more rural area of Italy, so they didn’t necessarily feel comfortable outing themselves to our coworkers & students. I hope that Italians have more of a dialog about this issue, since I’m curious to see what solution(s) they reach
I have the same issue with French. In French I use the new special non binary pronoun "iel" but indeed there is that same problem about adjectives being pronounced differently. I just use feminine in that case to break the "masculine prevails" which is everywhere in French.
A couple weeks ago I tried to explain to my family what nonbinary means and about the pronouns, I'm german so it got really complicated at that point because our literal translation of 'them' is the same word as for 'she', but the form of the verb is still different and 'their' is also different and at the end I had the feeling I had more questions than them 🙈 Everything I know about it is through english... So if anybody can recommend a video or something for german language, that would be perfect 🙈 Ps: I love these videos
There's no video I know of, but nibi.space/ has a lot of info. As a neutrois myself I'm considering using 'es'. Like 'schwul' was reclaimed as a self-descriptor instead of a slur I'd like to reclaim 'es' as a perfectly normal and neutral pronoun instead of it being a slur. Everything else just sounds wrong in my ears and doesn't flow. I also shortly considered 'dey/dem' in reference to the English option but found myself continuing to speak in English so, eep. :D
The pronouns thing happens to me, too! I'm genderfluid, and do a little internal happy dance whenever someone uses my requested pronouns. However, my Latin teacher is nonbinary, and I sometimes have a hard time using proper pronouns for them.
I do have those issues regularly when talking in my native German. I don’t live in Germany though, so that isn’t an issue. I’ve been non-binary in my head a looooooot longer than openly, so I don’t have that much of an issue there. My biggest struggle is getting other people to respect my pronouns in every day living without feeling like I am being a hassle. Everybody basically ignores it.
Ok, so I'm not a non binary but still enjoy all of your videos.. I'm a little young so for the terms I don't understand, I literally have to Google it to see what it means lmao.... But I'm fine with it cuz you are spreading a beautiful message and putting an entertaining twist to it too
its the same with arabic we have the ending to refer to a male or female and its kinda weird when u refer to enby or anyone who use they/them in plural but im getting more familiar with that im using they/she pronouns as well and my friends never used they/them to me bc i think it sounds weird to them😭
Hey! Idk if you talk about this in your other video (haven't seen it) but, in Spanish the community is trying to endorse gender neutral pronouns by using the letter "e" instead of "a" (femenine) or "o" (masculine).
You're not the only one to struggle with according the words (I don't know if "according" is the right word, but when you put the masculine or the feminine at the end of a word like you said). I'm French and it's so complicated 😭 For the pronouns we have "iel/ellui" (a contraction of "il/elle" and "lui/elle", wich mean "he/she" and "him/her"), but when we want to say "he/she is happy", we have to say "il est content" or "elle est contente", and there's no official way to use a neutral ending of the word (officially, the masculine is also the neutral, but it's very controversial). Personnaly, when I write, I use the medium point (it's an unofficial way to make adjectives neutrals), so if I want to say "I'm happy" I'll say "je suis content•e". But you can't say that, you have to use the masculine, the feminine or the -ae ending (you say "je suis contentae" but I don't really know how to pronounce it and I don't like to use this for me so I use the masculine). It's very difficult, even for a French person 😭
In Portuguese seems like is the same as Spanish, French and Italian... I am trying to learn how to be a better ally and respect pronouns but I really don't know how to call nonbinary people in Portuguese, when even people/person in Portuguese is a female term. Pretty Tricky!

Again i'm so so sorry if i shouldn't have asked this i' just curious.

Maybe you're simply a gender nonconforming male. :) Gender identity (male) and gender expression (e.g. androgyne) don't have to be the same for you to be valid as a person. :)
Very annoying in French. Luckily there are little tricks one can use, overall I'd say it's easier than Spanish/Italian/Catalan. For ex: you can say "mon ami-e" and the -e is silent anyway so here you can speak without actively picking masc or fem ending.

I’m demigender and I’m still deciding wether I want to use they/them or a lesser-known pronoun like ze/zer so this video helped somewhat
Hey, I'm still learning all this, if you don't mind could you explain demigender?
@@rainbowhow6431 It’s basically when you’re on the spectrum between a binary gender and being non-binary, you partially identify as both
I have a question
Is it ok if I choose to not come out as non binary to my family since I’m from an African American family and my family is closed minded and old fashioned
Ofc you never have to come out at all
Of course, but you have to deal with all the misgendering. If you're okay with that.
@@the.midnightskies8908 I’m dealing with it
@@caff-nolongeractive9344 you mean transphobic?
Hi there! Definitely don't right now - and watch this youtube video of mine FIRST *sending a hug* :) ua-cam.com/video/BermFCwUHKo/v-deo.html
I support this community because we have are own opinions on who we are but we are all people
My friends are supportive about it and my friend is even nonbinary too. But how should I come out to my BEST FRIEND, she is not that educated on LGBTQ+ things involving gender and pronouns.
And I’m pretty sure that she will be okay with it but I’m not sure.
How should I tell her?
Have you tried giving hints or something? Or maybe just get into a deep talk with her or something and then mention it
I’m 15 and I came out to my mum a while ago as non-binary after debating to myself if I should 😅, and her response to it was- “HUH?!”.
Pls if someone is reading this could you give me some advice I don’t know what to do :,)
No matter what I tell her I couldn’t get her to believe me.
I hate it here 😂😂
I just came out non binary! You were a great role model for me coming out and everyone is so supportive 😊 Thank you!
I live in Greece and we don't have a translation for they/them cuz it sounds like feminine pronouns
I hope people come around too💚
Although I'm not non-binary my best friend is and they're so scared of correcting people who say he/him and I really wanna help them but idk how
thanks for being an ally!!!! and thanks for being here!
Edit: they say it doesn't matter and they don't mind am I the one in the wrong if I correct everyone who sais it wrong for them 🤣
You are special. You are loved.
I'm a closetted nombinary ftm, it's hard & stressful being closetted. But I do wanna come out. My mom is anstrict Jehovah's witness & anytime we bring up lgbt+ she goes into full blown rants about sin & religion. I don't think she's going to handle it well when I'm ready to come out
I came out but my dad doesn't use my name because "we've been using it for 13 years", so I don't know what to do.
Pronouns are weird it’s even hard for me at times to remember my own pronouns like using them in my head i call myself the right name but pronouns are even hard for me to get correct
Idk which one to come out first that I'm bi or non binary which should I do first?
either! :) before you come out, please watch this youtube of mine for helpful tips 😉ua-cam.com/video/BermFCwUHKo/v-deo.html
@@adesso.laurenzo thank you so much 💓
This made me realize that there’s a strangely high overlap between my non-binary friends & my Italian speaking friends...
So if anybody can recommend a video or something for german language, that would be perfect 🙈
Ps: I love these videos
There's no video I know of, but nibi.space/ has a lot of info. As a neutrois myself I'm considering using 'es'. Like 'schwul' was reclaimed as a self-descriptor instead of a slur I'd like to reclaim 'es' as a perfectly normal and neutral pronoun instead of it being a slur. Everything else just sounds wrong in my ears and doesn't flow. I also shortly considered 'dey/dem' in reference to the English option but found myself continuing to speak in English so, eep. :D
@@johapunkt3053 Thanks a lot 🙏♡
But I'm fine with it cuz you are spreading a beautiful message and putting an entertaining twist to it too
its the same with arabic we have the ending to refer to a male or female and its kinda weird when u refer to enby or anyone who use they/them in plural but im getting more familiar with that
im using they/she pronouns as well and my friends never used they/them to me bc i think it sounds weird to them😭
Hey! Idk if you talk about this in your other video (haven't seen it) but, in Spanish the community is trying to endorse gender neutral pronouns by using the letter "e" instead of "a" (femenine) or "o" (masculine).
i take spanish and she just has me use what ever i was with the genders
Tysm for the video 💛⬜💜🖤
Of course!!
in portuguese is dichotomic like that... but we recently have been using neutral (not oficial) neopronouns. they are amazing srsly. (ela/ele/elu)
You're not the only one to struggle with according the words (I don't know if "according" is the right word, but when you put the masculine or the feminine at the end of a word like you said). I'm French and it's so complicated 😭
For the pronouns we have "iel/ellui" (a contraction of "il/elle" and "lui/elle", wich mean "he/she" and "him/her"), but when we want to say "he/she is happy", we have to say "il est content" or "elle est contente", and there's no official way to use a neutral ending of the word (officially, the masculine is also the neutral, but it's very controversial).
Thanks for posting this!🖤 Im a Non-binary kid and im currently struggling to come out.
You're videos help me so much!🥰🖤
You have an amazing personality and I love your content
Kinda off topic but your hair looks great!
Question. Can still get surgery top and bottom mtf. And still be non binary?
You can do whatever makes you feel comfortable
ive recently come out as non binary but im struggling to tell people my new name, what should i do?
In Portuguese seems like is the same as Spanish, French and Italian... I am trying to learn how to be a better ally and respect pronouns but I really don't know how to call nonbinary people in Portuguese, when even people/person in Portuguese is a female term. Pretty Tricky!
can anyone help me with how to tell my parents that I have a new name now? like literally H A L P M E H
Do you have any tips on coming out if you might be unsupported, I can’t be deadnamed and the wrong pronouns used on me anymore
From Alec, she/they girlflux
In my language depending which pronouns you use not just is are change but also rest of the damn words so sometimes I try so hard to see how tf should I say some stuff
Ok so i want to come out to my mom about it but I’m honestly scared 😬 how should I come out to her, any ideas? Also I feel like she will say “ur to young”
hi i actually just came out today but my dad keeps saying the wrong name or the wrong pronouns bc he forgets can u help me to get him more used to me? he’s struggling but he’s trying and i want to help him in anyway possible
How to speak asterisk:

When you’re dad and sisters assumed my gender omg
being nonbinary, I didn't think it would be that hard to be respected, and I didn't think I was that boring that they would forget all about me being nonbinary. It really sucks because I just want to be respected and treated as an adult and not a child anymore.
I came out as non binary to my parents at least 3 months ago and they still don’t use the correct pronouns and I feel uncomfortable with correcting them I don’t know what to do :( I also don’t know what to do with my hair or name because I don’t want to have to ask my parents wherever I can change it but I don’t know whether I want to or not too
How do I ask to become non binary cus I know my dad and others in my family don’t support lgbtq I’m not sure what to do
@@IrDaNoobKing k thx
I am trying to understand: What is the concept of “non-binary” and how is it different than “agender”? Also, what is the significance? Just trying to understand. Thanks!
So I have a question and I’m not sure if you will be uncomfortable with it? So what gender were you originally born as?
I love your videos 🤗
i almost had to come out as nonbinary and pansexual cause my friend who talks to everyone found my secret tiktok account, and atleast on the moment I thought of telling him my friends dared me to do it, and I just forgot to change it back, he believed me lmao
Omg, I'm enby and pan too, love you💜
I’m nonbinary and lesbian and I have only came out to some friends and not my parents so idk what to say. I think I should atleast tell them in non binary but idk how
I have a question and i'm really sorry if you find it offensive i'm just wondering about something. Being non-binary is like being outside the binary , not being a girl or a boy. How do you know what a girl or a boy is or classify's as so you can know that your not that?( like what characterizes a boy and/or girl? ). Again i'm so so sorry if i shouldn't have asked this i' just curious.
Can you try and explain this a little more clearly and I could try and explain it for you?
In belguim for they/them pronouns they use hun/hen or Hun/Zij pronouns which can be a struggle for some ppl cause there arent alot of ppl who are nonbinary in my country ;-;
same in the netherlands! hen/hun, die/diens en zij plural!
@@britte848 yes,i find it abit sad there are not alot of non-binary ppl in belguim (i'm not sure about netherlands) i barely see any non-binary ppl
@@fandomcult8172 true! i was lucky to have 2 other non-binary people in my class! But i haven’t seen any other non-binary people here
@@britte848 yeah,i'm litterly agender and the only one that is agender in my school as also the only one part of the lgbtq community (i'm pansexual-v-) sadly even some ppl still use she/her pronouns on me even if i came out as agender
Speaking Chinese is no problem, but when you write it, there is no in between unless you write “it” which can be offensive. -_-
How long did it take for people to respect your pronouns?
it depended on the person! my chosen family/close friends were immediate :) colleagues at uni took a little bit of time, but wanted to. but strangers and people not close to me/acquaintances may still not use they/them
@@adesso.laurenzo Oh, ok, thank you

I’m questioning my gender and who I like but I’m scared bc my dad homophobic and if I’m a different gender and/or like someone else I’m gonna be so hated 😔✌🏼️
in German there's no such thing as They them.....I and many other nb's go by made up pronouns like dey or xier
I have a weird situation, I identify as a male and I am fine with being male
it's just I am not really into masculinity or femininity kinda in between/a little bit of both , I don't know if there is a term for this XD
not a gender problem , i just want to know wat this is
Maybe you're simply a gender nonconforming male.
