I quit facebook 8 years ago and never missed it. I quit Instagram shortly after. I will never go back. I don't believe we are powerless to social media or controlling our own time. I hope more people quit wasting their time on social media and delete that garbage from their lives. Thanks for this awesome podcast episode!
I was on FB for the first 6 months that it came out. I could see where it could be heading. FB is pretty much as authoritarian as I thought it would become. Social media is such a waste of time and energy. I look forward to the day FB has a minimal influence on society.
I agree totally. Regardless of anything she said or says, a critical thinker looks at new popular ideas and wonders how they can be abused. Social Media was a good idea on paper and in theory, but the ability to abuse it with NO CONSEQUENCES makes it toxic and dangerous. When they created social media, they were questioning how many billions they could make as quickly as possible. They should have been been questioning whether they should create it at all. They also created it without any user history data or ways to prevent the multiple ways it is abused. Social media is destroying our society. It’s creating a generation of people who cannot function in a civilized society and is enabling astronomical levels of growth of personality disorders.
I just suddenly realized, I gave up Facebook, Instagram and Twitter a couple years ago and I don’t miss it. Here I am watching UA-cam and RR about these very things, and it reinforces my my decision that I am not missing much after watching about 15 minutes of this interview. My wife tried to entice me to rejoin Facebook the other night. I shook my head, said no and said my world is just fine as long as she stands there in front of me present and accounted for. I have have a choice, and I believe I have chosen wisely.
So is it, as i assume, that yr FB acct lives on? I have never been on, yet my former bff opened an acct for me that i subsequently tried to dele and found it impossible...
I don’t do any social media at all-except UA-cam!-and since covid actually prefer my solitude over socializing in person. I might be turning into one of those weird people who spend too much time alone, but at least I know myself, no need for external validation. I feel sorry for social media addicts seeking approval from the outside. It’s messed up. 😟
I've been living in solitude for 10+ years (by choice) and I never felt lonely' Now I start to realise how.much I've missed. Joy, laughter, connection. If I'd have a chance to do it all over again I'd definitely do it differently.
You are probably being controlled and manipulated by UA-cam. Along with those you used to connect with. Never doubt the sick demented experiments they will do to gain control over the masses.

She isn't even aware that she is only one perspective interpreting infinite possibilities. She literally believes HER interpretation IS THE total reality and she is only mid 30's. Still a young arrogant rich Harvard know it all. She already knows everything and has no reason to be willing to be wrong and change and grow and learn.
That is not what she is saying. This is a clear example of someone being so smart that the group fears what she has to say about their own beliefs. She brings facts about how you are being manipulated through the screen and you respond by attacking her and not the people who are manipulating you.

It's better to limit exposure to Social Media and watching TV in general. Read Physical Books, Eat Healthier and Exercise Get Sunlight and you will start to see things differently and start thinking differently. Engage with people in person instead of screens. We need to have conversations that are from opposite sides of the political spectrum and stay away from radicalism. We're being divided Academically Socially, Religiously, Racially, Economically, and Politically wake up

Facebook was released when I was in high school. I deactivated my account after using it for one year because I noticed that I was experiencing strong feelings of anxiety and depression after spending time on it. Seriously, Facebook is dumb. It's enough to text people if you want to contact them and ask people for their email addresses if you want to stay in contact with a new friend. These "echo chambers" that create/provide services that hurt people - I hope one day they get shut down.
They won't get shut down. It's an organization, just like a church, hospital, school, etc. I don't participate in any social media except watching UA-cam. & I see everyone around me conform to society and lean into Facebook, Instagram, etc, and people don't realize how it effects them because the brainwashing happens slowly.
Not to point out the obvious, but a vast majority of the issues with the platform weren't even close to in play during the first years of it, and you couldn't even get in without a college email...
Assange is still sitting in a cell, waiting to most likely be extradited to sit in another cell. Nothing he published ever had to be redacted because it was actually all true. He uncovered stuff that’s been proven to be illegal government behaviour. That is a real whistleblower.

I think there is a difference between something that isn't substantiated by evidence being censored or weeded out by the search algorithm and strongly substantiated content being censored. The algorithm has to favor something and I don't see why evidenced based content shouldn't be favored over non evidenced based content. In this, please also provide an example that had strong evidence substantiating the claims within the content in the moment it was being censored rather than supporting evidence that came to light later. You can claim someone is guilty but you can't get mad at detectives for not taking action until evidence of their guilt comes forward. Making a claim is not evidence. Thanks for reading.

I use Facebook for 11 years to store information , and once they started censoring me for my post, I got the message, I was embarrassed that I even used such a platform at all, never used it again, but left it open and made sure no one could se what I posted, to me is just storage for my work, but I been FB free for many years,... 😂
I had some pretty good intellectual conversations on fb, I mostly left because of how they willingly sold data to influence the elections. Then even worse accusations came out, and this is just a continuation of that. It's nonstop harm via greed with fb.
I like how she says he had these weird ideas. that Soros was using his wealth to corrupt democracy (or words to that effect)..and "divorce himself from our shared reality" and then he met some "questionable" people..but then he started going to church again... like where people actually believe in Virgin Birth and a man who rose from the Dead, amongst other lunatic narratives. And she thinks that was a good thing!!

I saw early on that Facebook was trouble. It's great if you've got a family that promotes social gatherings with photos to share. Very quickly, things began to go haywire. Mean posts, gossip. Troublemaking.. it reminded me of some bad experiences I had when I was 11 yrs old.
One thing, early on, that drove me away from fb, was the family members and childhood friends that would come out of the woodwork on that site. It's bad enough fb sends me friends requests from the handful of friends I have, friends lists, and they never sent them. I took it again a few years back for marketplace.
Just like hate speech laws. Any law that violates your first amendment right is unconstitutional, whether you like what they say or not. This is all about censorship.
What value do place on a human's likability when assessing data they deliver? Any of that perspective seems it would make objectivity impossible...but maybe thats intentional on your part?

Her energy is way too strong, I feel like she just wants to make this a one way conversation and she’s trying really hard to stay calm and composed and actively listen. I remember being one of FB's first users in 2004 - what a time that was. It was more secure (everyone was vetted, since it was college), searching was easier and kept you in your local area, and the interface was so simple. Now FB is its own gestapo police state of thugs
It was built to be part of the police state by Darpa. Zuck didn't "invent" FB, it was assigned to him once Lifelog was fully beta tested. This is not a new system. It's the "frogs in a pot" method. All of these social media systems start off seeming really free and secure then they slowly take good parts away and add more surveillance, censorship, and dopamine trigger training to make people addicted. Anyone who believes a "college project" just grew into one of the largest tech companies in existence needs to have their head examined.
I rarely go out there anymore due to an almost hack that I was able to thwart. It's almost impossible to add rules for your info and who can see what. I just gave up. I only go there to find out about some old friends I know well and I'm very near to just deleting it altogether.

The "gang mentality" of bulletin boards back in the 90's turned me off to using the computer as a socializing platform. The ability to hide behind the keyboard brings out the worst in most people.
Just like a couple decades prior to FBook when it was trendy to have a CB radio... we had a neighbor whose conversations would often break into broadcasting over our radio, and while his official image/lifestyle was a big mucky-muck in a local church, we heard multiple conversations where he antagonized people, constantly starting fights and arguments, treating people horribly. Amazing what comes out of people's minds and mouths when they believe you can't see them.
are you kidding? That was the golden era, the 90s chatrooms were the best. Real people populated the chatrooms and were close enough you could actually meet in person if you wanted.

My daughter setup my Facebook page 12 or 13 years ago on my computer. I was working a full time job then in a call center, sitting in front of a computer screen answering phone calls and solving customer problems for 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. The last thing I wanted to do when I came home each day was sit at a computer again. So, I stayed away from it until I quit working in November of 2011. I never really cared for it that much, but it was useful for keeping in touch with cousins and a few friends now and then. Now, it seems to be used mostly used for checking which ones of us cousins are still living, and given our age group, there isn't that many of us cousins still alive. We have been dropping like flies for the past 4 or 5 years, sometimes it's sisters and sometimes it's brothers dying in the same month, or within only a year or so between them. I am one of the oldest generation left in my family of cousins. I could count us left on less than 2 hands. This old person business sucks big time! That's how useful Facebook is to me.
She needs to open her mind like so many others about some of the unbelievable corruption that’s taking place. It’s unfathomable yet more and more evidence shows itself if your eyes are open every day.

Kudos to Rich Roll for having this woman on, instead of having Mark Zuckerberg on, as many self development podcasts did when Mark was making the rounds to promote his Metaverse. He did a great job of having a nuanced conversation here.
Agreed, kudos to Rich for using his platform to highlight some of the issues with social media. Like many people who have had an extreme amount of financial success, Zuckerberg now spends all of his time in an echo chamber and isn't terribly interesting to listen to.
She’s nothing special. I think she’s a paid agent from Zuck himself to make it seem like there’s “opposition”. Mark is so far in bed with the government this really means nothing given people will never get off Facebook which is the only solution if you have a problem with the platform.

After years of being a regular listener, I stopped watching this podcast over a year ago. Then this autoplayed on my UA-cam feed and it reminded me why I stopped. She is still very naive/brainwashed and/or totally captured/controlled opposition.
Rich please start tackling more controversial topics if they are for causes you believe in! You’ve developed an amazing platform and I bet more people than you realize share those values and will follow you along.

I realize truth is hurtful, but I thought it was better to live-in truth than a sweet-lie. I hate touching peoples nerves. but sometimes, people need to hear it. If you have counter persuasion/method I would like to hear it.. do you think I should 1. be a realist or 2. a human-realist. cause I feel to large part that I have read all of things online to be moral-person I know I be. but sometimes moral means being struck down. or is that a poor philosophy. cause I can't tell anymore. I want to believe in people, to want them to provide hope. I can bet if I got to bottom of argument (in a sensitive way), people would see what I was trying to show them. but its hard when every action do is wrongly persued as other. Im learning to research every day and right any wrongs of my own. sometimes sharing an unpopular-opinion can come off in divisive-way to people/controversial. but that is not the thought process behind it. sometimes I come off as heavy-handed. and I realize that too. I realize things are sensitive in nature. and with great regret I am not always so sensitive. sometimes I am not fully articulated in the way I want to be.. Ive been working 24 hours a day round the clock to better myself, research+journalling. I hope it gives some hope (praying). I try really really hard.. to the bone. and I won't ever stop. tryinggg. by far and large only thing I wanted, is to be listened and given a chance. Please beleieve everything I say.

Who gets to decide what qualifies as misinformation? Better to let people investigate and decide for themselves. Censoring information is a slippery slope away from free speech. Not good.
Why should any company be worried about “fact checking” and “misinformation” ? Why aren’t we instead teaching kids how to do this individually? If you are dependent on some other entity or person to do that for you then you open yourself up to being manipulated. And if your not already doing your own research then you’ve been manipulated now for years. I rarely open facebook, I’ve never had a twitter account and watch or read multiple sources for anything important.
Because these platforms are government and company tools to manipulate the users, the perfect fascist tool to design culture, design and mindcontrol peoples behaviour.

I'm so sorry about your loss. I remember hearing a podcast years ago (Richard Grannon) where he anticipated people would sue FB for mental health affects due to the algorithm. Like people did for smoking 30 years ago. Maybe you should consider it. Erin Brockovich style. Best of luck.
One part that stuck the most to me was the "resetting the algorithm" aspect. I often noticed how I get fed into a constant loop of negative content by just trying to stay informed about an event or making the mistake of commenting/like something. There's a breaking point to how much negativity one can take until one truly becomes hopeless.
That appears to be one of its goals -- along with what former president/programmer who resigned and denounced Fascistbook, Sean Parker, said he and his programer friends at Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms were told to do: Create a product that will take up as much of users time and conscious attention as possible. And not only to sell products, it seems, but to ban free speech on behalf of US government (government-in-league-with-businesses is definition of Facism) which then pretends is "grills" Suckerberg at congressional hearings that are comedies without laughter in current evil-clown word.
I caught that too and have several thoughts. First, UA-cam developed the algo as a feature or service to enhance a user's experience by attempting to learn what you're interested in on a ever changing basis according to your search, likes, subs, and views. This in turn presents you with similar content that you "most likey" will want to check out next time and "wink wink", you win & they win because now you will "prolly" stay longer which means more ad revenue for Google. You already know this, but sometimes there's shit in ur feed that u looked up/viewed once and don't care about any more but they keep throwing more of the same. How about a option to individually mark a video to be removed from the algo. Or better yet, just allow users to edit the video or categories that are driving the feed. Multiple aliases on one acct each having their own algo would be nice too. The "reset" button would be nice but i don't think people would want to nuke all their history. And you sure don't want YT popping up a message saying "hey all you been looking at is war content and that's depressing, how bout cute kitty cat videos". Anyway the reset button actually EXISTS, but it's not a button and you don't have to create another acct. By resetting both your search history and watch history on UA-cam, you can effectively revert your UA-cam interests to a blank slate. This will allow you to re-teach UA-cam what you're interested in. Without any history, the UA-cam recommendation algorithm won't know what you've watched in the past.However, it will not clear favorited videos, or channels you subscribe to.
After attempting suicide 12 years ago and ending up in inpatient care, some friends started a secret Facebook group to communicate about it. Their intentions were good, I think. Anyway after I got out, my page went from being very dynamic to completely silent. I believed I had been abandoned by everyone as a result of my actions. I came to learn about shadow banning and now believe that's probably what happened. I'll never know though, and remain completely isolated from everyone I knew then, including family. Part of me will always believe I was completely shunned by everyone.

I had this happen taking a break while I was sick and getting surgery. It was a ghost town when I came back due to punishment for low usage by the algorithms. FB has evil tactics.

I left early 2020, because they took down a post I put up. It was a Princeton research study of statistics on COVID-19 death rate. They didn't like the fact that not enough people were dying from it. I guess we got to keep the fear high.
I was addicted to FB for years, but after the 2016 election and the revelations about FBs role in it, and seeing how clearly Zuckerberg didn’t give a shit, I was done and I quit cold turkey. Don’t regret it at all. Now I’m only on UA-cam.
I was on that crap for less than a year. Did for family connections, was the worst thing I have ever done in my life. I quit it and found myself so much happier. I'll NEVER use social media for the rest of my life.
At about 2 minutes in, she says she watched her friend "divorce himself from our shared reality...," and that served as her motivation to fight what she calls "disinformation" at Facebook. Not everyone agrees with being in her dystopian "shared reality," and some people prefer to think for themselves. This woman is dangerous. Although I could only get through about 20 minutes of the interview because her vocal fry was unbearable.
I would like to take this moment to thank Edward Snowden for advising the public to drop social media accounts. I still have YT for my movies but since 2016 I dropped it all. Now, I am happy that I did and do not deal with 99% of that insanity!
Some movies are ahead of their time, such as Untraceable (1995) or Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1979). Not necessarily for the graphic nature of the killing. Rather, they excellently foresee how social media tends to augment the anger of the masses to incite emotional reactions, which result in even more violence. The more people feed off the violence, the more the violence grows. As Andy Wu noted, Facebook serves as a convenient lightning rod for ire, but Facebook could disappear off of the face of the earth tomorrow and we will still face these problems again and again. The Facebook Trap is intrinsic to social networking as a whole, and reflects the consequences of digital technology facilitating a more connected world.
27:30 - my issue with streaming services is that they have full control over the content you have access to. The potential for biased behavior and censorship is high.
My mom uses Facebook all the time to snoop and share stupid things and she always gets hacked. Its typically those "lets see who is a real friend and respond by doing such and such" or something about "posting a photo if you love your daughter" and its like every month it goes on and on.
My best friend sends me friend request while I was sitting next to her. I blocked her and showed it to her. I told her we are true friends that speaks on the phone and visit each other. Facebook are for acquaintances. I do the same with my siblings. We speak everyday on the phone We don't need to be Facebook "fakefriends". I've noticed Facebook ruined real friendships. They use it to DM people instead of calling. No more accepting people as friends there.
I quit facebook 8 years ago and never missed it. I quit Instagram shortly after. I will never go back. I don't believe we are powerless to social media or controlling our own time. I hope more people quit wasting their time on social media and delete that garbage from their lives. Thanks for this awesome podcast episode!

I was on FB for the first 6 months that it came out. I could see where it could be heading. FB is pretty much as authoritarian as I thought it would become. Social media is such a waste of time and energy. I look forward to the day FB has a minimal influence on society.

I agree totally. Regardless of anything she said or says, a critical thinker looks at new popular ideas and wonders how they can be abused. Social Media was a good idea on paper and in theory, but the ability to abuse it with NO CONSEQUENCES makes it toxic and dangerous. When they created social media, they were questioning how many billions they could make as quickly as possible. They should have been been questioning whether they should create it at all. They also created it without any user history data or ways to prevent the multiple ways it is abused. Social media is destroying our society. It’s creating a generation of people who cannot function in a civilized society and is enabling astronomical levels of growth of personality disorders.

I just suddenly realized, I gave up Facebook, Instagram and Twitter a couple years ago and I don’t miss it. Here I am watching UA-cam and RR about these very things, and it reinforces my my decision that I am not missing much after watching about 15 minutes of this interview. My wife tried to entice me to rejoin Facebook the other night. I shook my head, said no and said my world is just fine as long as she stands there in front of me present and accounted for. I have have a choice, and I believe I have chosen wisely.

Facebook was released when I was in high school. I deactivated my account after using it for one year because I noticed that I was experiencing strong feelings of anxiety and depression after spending time on it. Seriously, Facebook is dumb. It's enough to text people if you want to contact them and ask people for their email addresses if you want to stay in contact with a new friend. These "echo chambers" that create/provide services that hurt people - I hope one day they get shut down.

I don't participate in any social media except watching UA-cam. & I see everyone around me conform to society and lean into Facebook, Instagram, etc, and people don't realize how it effects them because the brainwashing happens slowly.
Not to point out the obvious, but a vast majority of the issues with the platform weren't even close to in play during the first years of it, and you couldn't even get in without a college email...

I think there is a difference between something that isn't substantiated by evidence being censored or weeded out by the search algorithm and strongly substantiated content being censored. The algorithm has to favor something and I don't see why evidenced based content shouldn't be favored over non evidenced based content.
In this, please also provide an example that had strong evidence substantiating the claims within the content in the moment it was being censored rather than supporting evidence that came to light later. You can claim someone is guilty but you can't get mad at detectives for not taking action until evidence of their guilt comes forward. Making a claim is not evidence. Thanks for reading.

I saw early on that Facebook was trouble. It's great if you've got a family that promotes social gatherings with photos to share. Very quickly, things began to go haywire. Mean posts, gossip. Troublemaking.. it reminded me of some bad experiences I had when I was 11 yrs old.
One thing, early on, that drove me away from fb, was the family members and childhood friends that would come out of the woodwork on that site.
It's bad enough fb sends me friends requests from the handful of friends I have, friends lists, and they never sent them. I took it again a few years back for marketplace.
That is exactly what it is designed to do.

I always hated Facebook and was only on it very occasionally. It always made me feel depressed and anxious.
I was sent a Fladhing Me Me the other day and I couldn’t see that night. I’ve even had enough after 15 years but my kids are grown now they advise me about it job done lol …I just use it to support family and friends etc etc. now.

I remember being one of FB's first users in 2004 - what a time that was. It was more secure (everyone was vetted, since it was college), searching was easier and kept you in your local area, and the interface was so simple. Now FB is its own gestapo police state of thugs

It was built to be part of the police state by Darpa. Zuck didn't "invent" FB, it was assigned to him once Lifelog was fully beta tested. This is not a new system. It's the "frogs in a pot" method. All of these social media systems start off seeming really free and secure then they slowly take good parts away and add more surveillance, censorship, and dopamine trigger training to make people addicted. Anyone who believes a "college project" just grew into one of the largest tech companies in existence needs to have their head examined.
I rarely go out there anymore due to an almost hack that I was able to thwart. It's almost impossible to add rules for your info and who can see what. I just gave up. I only go there to find out about some old friends I know well and I'm very near to just deleting it altogether.

Just like a couple decades prior to FBook when it was trendy to have a CB radio... we had a neighbor whose conversations would often break into broadcasting over our radio, and while his official image/lifestyle was a big mucky-muck in a local church, we heard multiple conversations where he antagonized people, constantly starting fights and arguments, treating people horribly. Amazing what comes out of people's minds and mouths when they believe you can't see them.

Deleting Facebook was the best thing I've done in a long time.
My daughter setup my Facebook page 12 or 13 years ago on my computer. I was working a full time job then in a call center, sitting in front of a computer screen answering phone calls and solving customer problems for 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. The last thing I wanted to do when I came home each day was sit at a computer again. So, I stayed away from it until I quit working in November of 2011. I never really cared for it that much, but it was useful for keeping in touch with cousins and a few friends now and then.
Now, it seems to be used mostly used for checking which ones of us cousins are still living, and given our age group, there isn't that many of us cousins still alive. We have been dropping like flies for the past 4 or 5 years, sometimes it's sisters and sometimes it's brothers dying in the same month, or within only a year or so between them. I am one of the oldest generation left in my family of cousins. I could count us left on less than 2 hands. This old person business sucks big time! That's how useful Facebook is to me.

I finally gave up, waiting for some meaningful thoughts during this interview. Next time, ask a brick wall what it thinks. Kudos to Rich Roll for having this woman on, instead of having Mark Zuckerberg on, as many self development podcasts did when Mark was making the rounds to promote his Metaverse. He did a great job of having a nuanced conversation here.
Agreed, kudos to Rich for using his platform to highlight some of the issues with social media. Like many people who have had an extreme amount of financial success, Zuckerberg now spends all of his time in an echo chamber and isn't terribly interesting to listen to.
She’s nothing special. I think she’s a paid agent from Zuck himself to make it seem like there’s “opposition”. Mark is so far in bed with the government this really means nothing given people will never get off Facebook which is the only solution if you have a problem with the platform.

Why should any company be worried about “fact checking” and “misinformation” ? Why aren’t we instead teaching kids how to do this individually? If you are dependent on some other entity or person to do that for you then you open yourself up to being manipulated. I rarely open facebook, I’ve never had a twitter account and watch or read multiple sources for anything important.

One part that stuck the most to me was the "resetting the algorithm" aspect. I often noticed how I get fed into a constant loop of negative content by just trying to stay informed about an event or making the mistake of commenting/like something. There's a breaking point to how much negativity one can take until one truly becomes hopeless.
That appears to be one of its goals -- along with what former president/programmer who resigned and denounced Fascistbook, Sean Parker, said he and his programer friends at Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms were told to do: Create a product that will take up as much of users time and conscious attention as possible. And not only to sell products, it seems, but to ban free speech on behalf of US government (government-in-league-with-businesses is definition of Facism) which then pretends is "grills" Suckerberg at congressional hearings that are comedies without laughter in current evil-clown word.
I caught that too and have several thoughts. First, UA-cam developed the algo as a feature or service to enhance a user's experience by attempting to learn what you're interested in on a ever changing basis according to your search, likes, subs, and views. This in turn presents you with similar content that you "most likey" will want to check out next time and "wink wink", you win & they win because now you will "prolly" stay longer which means more ad revenue for Google. You already know this, but sometimes there's shit in ur feed that u looked up/viewed once and don't care about any more but they keep throwing more of the same. How about a option to individually mark a video to be removed from the algo. Or better yet, just allow users to edit the video or categories that are driving the feed. Multiple aliases on one acct each having their own algo would be nice too. The "reset" button would be nice but i don't think people would want to nuke all their history. And you sure don't want YT popping up a message saying "hey all you been looking at is war content and that's depressing, how bout cute kitty cat videos". Anyway the reset button actually EXISTS, but it's not a button and you don't have to create another acct. By resetting both your search history and watch history on UA-cam, you can effectively revert your UA-cam interests to a blank slate. This will allow you to re-teach UA-cam what you're interested in. Without any history, the UA-cam recommendation algorithm won't know what you've watched in the past.However, it will not clear favorited videos, or channels you subscribe to.

After attempting suicide 12 years ago and ending up in inpatient care, some friends started a secret Facebook group to communicate about it. Their intentions were good, I think. Anyway after I got out, my page went from being very dynamic to completely silent. I believed I had been abandoned by everyone as a result of my actions. I came to learn about shadow banning and now believe that's probably what happened. I'll never know though, and remain completely isolated from everyone I knew then, including family. Part of me will always believe I was completely shunned by everyone.

I had this happen taking a break while I was sick and getting surgery. It was a ghost town when I came back due to punishment for low usage by the algorithms. FB has evil tactics.

I left early 2020, because they took down a post I put up. It was a Princeton research study of statistics on COVID-19 death rate. They didn't like the fact that not enough people were dying from it. I guess we got to keep the fear high.
I was addicted to FB for years, but after the 2016 election and the revelations about FBs role in it, and seeing how clearly Zuckerberg didn’t give a shit, I was done and I quit cold turkey. Don’t regret it at all. Now I’m only on UA-cam.

Not everyone agrees with being in her dystopian "shared reality," and some people prefer to think for themselves. This woman is dangerous. Although I could only get through about 20 minutes of the interview because her vocal fry was unbearable.

I would like to take this moment to thank Edward Snowden for advising the public to drop social media accounts. I still have YT for my movies but since 2016 I dropped it all. Now, I am happy that I did and do not deal with 99% of that insanity!

My mom uses Facebook all the time to snoop and share stupid things and she always gets hacked. Its typically those "lets see who is a real friend and respond by doing such and such" or something about "posting a photo if you love your daughter" and its like every month it goes on and on.

My best friend sends me friend request while I was sitting next to her. I blocked her and showed it to her. I told her we are true friends that speaks on the phone and visit each other. Facebook are for acquaintances. I do the same with my siblings. We speak everyday on the phone We don't need to be Facebook "fakefriends".
I've noticed Facebook ruined real friendships. They use it to DM people instead of calling. No more accepting people as friends there.
