Yes! The judge is rude! She could be nicer so the witnesses wouldn't get even more nervous but she just has a rude tone like no other judge I've ever watched. Sad!
This is a good case. Ms. McArthur never looked up when her exhusband or exboyfriend was on the stand. The only time she looked up is when the judge was speaking with those two witnesses. Ms. McArthur is a trip.

After watching some felony trials lately, I've come to the conclusion that if you know you're guilty, you may as well just go for a plea deal instead of wasting time and money with getting any defense council. On cross, all they seem to do is parrot what the prosecution said during direct and that must only make their client's guilt even clearer to the jury.
yeah, I don't know how she thought she would get a good trial with these facts. I think they banked on discrediting the witnesses? Other people are just plain narcissist who can't admit fault such as Halderson and others don't get offered a deal because they need to be an example such as father and son racists McMichael. Some people get lucky, such as Rittenhouse, and maybe that's what this defendant is hoping too?

39:50 that lawyer obviously hasn’t heard the saying ‘you catch more flies with honey’ He first throws out the ‘not theft but grand theft’ then talks to the witness like she’s just a POS who should have dates written down. How does getting called to testify automatically cause someone’s memory to recall an exact date? He should be more suspicious if she DID rattle dates out. If he treats witnesses like they’re the ones on trial, he’s not going to get far with them as we saw
Couldn’t imagine being on trial for my life and the judge putting a cap on my trial time. Especially on the sad cases of innocent people being prosecuted

Witnesses are there to give the evidence they're asked for, in a structured manner. Witnesses cannot be allowed to ramble. There are strict rules of evidence that must be obeyed. If they are permitted to speak out of turn, it gives rise to constant objections from the opposing side, which wastes everybody's time, breaks the jury's concentration, and disrupts the Court. The judge is doing her job well.
@@mbd6054 Guess you haven't watched many criminal trials. I'm a former court reporter for national newspapers, and can tell you this judge's conduct is not normal or acceptable. Her professional peers, as well as journalists like myself, were appalled at her unprofessional haste and behaviour in court. Her priority at all times was not justice, but speed! She was very lucky the defendant in this case didn't call a mistrial after the verdict. If this judge continues in the same vein in future criminal proceedings, she will be sanctioned.
@@glamdolly30 Firstly, Judges never openly criticise their 'peer's' behaviour in Court, so if you have evidence of such, please furnish it. Journalists are not lawyers, and may publish opinion pieces, but their opinions have no standing, unless such articles emanate from established, trained, legal scholars. Despite your alleged extensive court experience, you do not appear to have any grasp of the rules of evidence. The judge avoided unnecessary objections, and allowed testimony to flow uninterrupted by hearsay. She conducted the trial in an efficient and professional manner. If you can point to just one single specific instance where she did something unethical, or illegal, please do so. There are no grounds for a mistrial.

She seems very condescending and speaks to the jurors like children and seems very bothered. In another clip of this trial, she was concerned about the weather which is understandable but she tried to guilt and bully both the prosecutor and defense into calling witnesses in earlier to “speed things up.” The defense offered a possible compromise but the prosecutor had to politely decline because the order of witness is part of the strategy of their case. I found it extremely unprofessional and tacky.

The judge is supposed to look out for the jury. That’s a huge part of her job. It’s a good thing for citizens to do jury duty. It’s necessary for our system and it is usually a burden on the jurors. I hope this trial has seriously discredited that judge - she was absolutely useless!
@@glamdolly30 Firstly, Judges never openly criticise their 'peer's' behaviour in Court, so if you have evidence of such, please furnish it. Despite your alleged extensive court experience, you do not appear to have any grasp of the rules of evidence.
