The dumbest thing my LT did was we were at a major field exercise and we had 4 days to relax. He decided my plt only would drive out to the desert to do white space training in the rear. Turns out where we went was a Artillery Firing Zone and they were Condition 1. Luckily there were 2 Blackhawks flying overhead to spot the rounds and they radioed back telling Arty there was friendlies in the Firing Zone. We were so close to being deleted from this Earths search history
Current lore: it's a headache for the platoon when the Lt get lost

My dumbest LT story takes the cake! 88M deployed to Iraq. Our Lt had a major stuttering problem and during incoming attacks we would hear on the radio evv ev ev ev ev ev everyone ge ge ge ge ge ge get do do do do down. Took him minutes to give a message or command.
...why would you go officer if you have a stutter that bad?

Have been watching your videos now for a few months. Am going into the Infantry, Army. Leaving in July for BCT. After BCT/AIT I’m going to Fort Campbell. Infantry is the way to go. When I saw the National Guard segment I laughed pretty hard.

Being a Technician in the Gaurd blows because the pay is so bad and the retirement is crappy. AGR has the same pay and retirement benefits as active duty.

1) Infantry/Mortars (because yeah, you can go for Infantry, and get voluntold your a Mortarman now, good luck)
2) Tanker
3) Cook.

I did active duty and then went to the national guard after 6 years. Honestly the national guard is way better than the reserves. The reserves doesn’t even have infantry units.
Dumbest thing I've ever heard from a Lt was during a promotion board, I was told I was not being recommended because I was too aggressive. I forgot to mention I'm infantry
