I bet, I wish I would have been around for that but oh well I can still dance to it in my room blasting my Bluetooth speaker lol if new order ever comes to San Diego I'll have to buy some tickets
@@andersphansson 😄Saw them a whiles back - at the Sydney Opera House which is definitely was not dance friendly - but me and the *mature* audience still got up and had a wriggle
It is so funny to watch these concerts after seeing all the videos on MTV back in the 80s. I was 21 and dancing to this great music with my friends and I am now 62 and look as old as they do and they are still sounding amazing. 😂❤
I was at the early 80s, this song was huge in the nightclubs, what the cook kids now would call a Banger, that's what we called a sausage round my way.
Wow! Amazing to see how they can still rock at their senior age! This is the song that exposed me to alternative British music. I don't remember Bernard dances as much in his younger concert days. 😆
Electropop, house music, hip hop... They did the smart thing by coming to NYC to make this. No other city at that time could come up with this combination..... This record was seismic, groundbreaking and historic

Really chuffed for Phil Cunningham....After Marion crashed and burned on the fallout from Jamie's addiction he deserved to get recognition for the talent he undoubtably has and becoming a permanent member of New Order cement's that reputation. Sad they didn't make up with Hooky though...life's just too fucking short !
I was there. I had to at some point accept Hooky will never be let back in and this is what it is. He's happy with The Light, these three are happy on their own. It was a good concert, can't deny that. We could go on about the obvious, but the ship sailed. (PS: I have already gone to five Hooky shows, including some in Austin! I do enjoy his shows more given his energy)
They took this beat from ''Our Love'' by Giorgio Moroder from 1979... I thought New Order came up with it, but it was already a well know beat in dance clubs by that time.
I'm disappointed with Bernard Sumner's weak, bored-sounding vocals, weird movements, and uncomfortable stage presence. I just watched *Peter Hook & The Light's* _Blue Monday_ on his current tour, and I was impressed. Hook's vocals work well on this iconic tune.
On the composing of Blue Monday, from Wikipedia : "New Order bought an early sampler, the Emulator 1, and sampled choir sounds from Kraftwerk's "Uranium".[11][12] Sumner and the drummer, Stephen Morris, learnt how to use the sampler by spending hours recording their flatulence.[12]" 😂😆🤣🤣 🙏🏿❣ Really interesting comments in the Wikipedia article on influences on the composition, including Donna Sumner, Ennio Morricone, and Giorgio Moroder.
wouldn't you be pissed off if you were the keyboard player and when it came to your solo the lead singer dances over and plays it himself? Apparently Barney can be bit of a wanker on tour :)
Hard to believe this song is now 40 years old, i forever love this song💙
You and me both 👍👍👍👍
So far ahead of its time. It may be 40 years old but it takes me right back to being in the club dancing my butt off.
I bet, I wish I would have been around for that but oh well I can still dance to it in my room blasting my Bluetooth speaker lol if new order ever comes to San Diego I'll have to buy some tickets
They don’t make music like this anymore unfortunately. These guys were among the godfathers of electronic dance bands. Oldies but damn goodies!
And the people playing them are in their 60s... getting old hits us all.
Agree John, I bought this 12 inch only single back in february 1983. Still have it to this day 👏
For crying out loud....put down the phones and dance
Fortunately there was a lot of dancing despite the phones. I had an aisle seat and hardly used it 😂
Let’s se y moves!!
@@andersphansson 😄Saw them a whiles back - at the Sydney Opera House which is definitely was not dance friendly - but me and the *mature* audience still got up and had a wriggle
sad state of a fares when people just can't listen and enjoy the music without there phones.

Fez parte da minha historia..tenho 55 anos e amei viver o auge dos anos 80..❤😊
Thesound of the best decade ever. Music was so awesome in the 80's. I feel so lucky to have been a teenager in that era.
The sound of an era. Timeless. Ageless. This video is unbelievable cool!
Brilliant song. Still sounds amazing as it did back in february 1983.
I was at the early 80s, this song was huge in the nightclubs, what the cook kids now would call a Banger, that's what we called a sausage round my way.
This song just kicks ass!!!! Greg
this is the best song of the 80s
...ever.
I can't believe I miss this band in Houston. My favorite band in the 80's. I dance to there music if anyone recalled the " Bayou Mamma's Club".
We lived in that club. Great memories.
Wow! Amazing to see how they can still rock at their senior age! This is the song that exposed me to alternative British music. I don't remember Bernard dances as much in his younger concert days. 😆
I last saw them in 1984... damn
Timeless classic......
Boss move of all bass lines. Love it.
That song is forever,uniqe ❤❤
Legend
Wow ! Awesomeness !
Mis años hermoso 80
Back to back old school is in tha house ❤
My goodness, the more times I watched, really speechless..The music arrangements top notch❤
You have to hand it to these old pop stars who are now in their 60s. They can still do it.
Still one of the best electronic tunes to come out of the 80's... Even Kraftwerk asked how they did it....
You know the song contains a sample from Kraftwerk?
@@nylesglynn8727 yes, the asked them how did they do the drum beat, their response was ....I pressed this button..
Wrong.
@@350125GOW It would seem you are
how? how can any song beat this damn song and we are not talking about just because of old age but really classic in all shapes and forms.

@@voodoodisco Yeah, but his vocals have deteriorated whereas Hooky's have just got stronger. IMO.
Seriously though, they were bored doing this live in the 80s too. All preprogrammed and phoned in.

They had a few good songs. Couple of good albums.
