Just quality. So ahead of their time . And yeah they're getting mature with the vocals but ... blue Monday FFS. RIP Ian C JD❤

Abso-freaking-lutely, my friend! As a lifelong New Order fan (although I was only 6 when Ian Curtis passed away & didn't fully get into New Order until I was 12, upon the release of 'Brotherhood'), I was pretty gutted with all of their releases after the turn of the century (mind you, I never much loved '93's 'Republic', prior to their longest hiatus of 8 years, when they returned in 2001 with - the even more inferior studio album - 'Get Ready' & I saw them play live at Reading in '98, after previously having tickets to the Phoenix Festival, which was cancelled due to lack of ticket sales - thankfully, Reading grabbed New Order & Garbage) & then I was completely pissed off after Hooky left, plus I never liked Phil & their later, post-Hooky addition, Tom...but now they're ALL such a massive bunch of dorks & I had to laugh when Barney tried to do his little 'Woot' & jump during 'Bizarre Love Triangle' & he's now too fat & old to even be airborne for a split-second, FFS!! ZERO stage presence or personality from ANY of these 5, sadly... Give me Peter Hook & the Light' ANY day of the week...FAR better, musically speaking, plus they play MASSIVE sets & Hooky is a FAR cooler entertainer than is Barney nowadays...oh, & that cap that Barney wore at the start reminded me of "The Office"s (UK) David Brent...just needed to turn it back-to-front for the complete 'Brent effect'!!
Absolutely, Sean...plus he can't even jump a couple of inches from the stage when he does his usual 'Woo' exclamation during 'Bizarre Love Triangle', which makes it VERY cringeworthy, IMO!! And what's more, while Gillian & Steve always had no stage presence, the younger guys, Phil & Tom have about as much personality as a fart in a bottle. Meanwhile, Hooky still KILLS IT with his lads from The Light during their live shows...he looks better than any of these 5, is a born entertainer & a true character, his vocals are FAR superior to those of Barney nowadays & PH&TL play MUCH longer sets that the overwhelming majority of true fans ACTUALLY WANT TO HEAR played!!
To those complaining about a 69 year old reluctant singer ( he never wanted it )'s voice after a lifetime of using it just efff off... Jose Jose, famous mexican singer with a great voice waa still singing even after alcohok and smoking destroyed his voice. People still went to see him. If I liked N.O. bc of the pristine vocals I wouls only liatwn fo ghe inatrumentals.
Why has Bernard adopted a daft American pronunciation of Rs for the last decade? Musically they are excellent, but still possibly the worst frontman of all time.
FUCK YES!!! FAR superior performances by Hooky & his band, because he is a born entertainer & he always interacts with the crowd, plus the other musicians from The Light also have better personalities than these 5 dorky robots...& not only to PH&TL sound better but they play MORE songs & play them FAR BETTER than New Order!!

Yeah, we saw/heard with 'The Other Two' (back in the early '90s) that Gillian has/had a beautiful voice...I still love 'Tasty Fish' & a few other songs that they released...but would her voice suit New Order & Joy Division tracks, all of which we're so accustomed to hearing being sung by Ian, Bernard &/or Hooky?
Jesus Bernard started that gig like he’d just got off the bus. Transmission sounded horrible and it didn’t get that much better, the non original members are carrying “New Order” here.
Agree 100% with your assertions re: Barney (LOVE the "just got off the bus" bit, btw!) but IMO, Phil & Tom also have the stage presence of a brick, just like Steve & Gillian...

Barney's probably too old to remember the lyrics to most Joy Division songs nowadays?!
It’s over Bernard!!!! 🙇
Not in the least.
@ His voice is gone!!
i agree...his "singing" was rough to listen to..sadly
The vocals are shocking
Maybe Bernard should just simply retire now.
