Few questions: Does it use the boxlink slots in the f-150? How hot does it get to the touch in strong direct sunlight? (SE/SW of country) If it's taken off to use the whole bed, how strong are the rails with the protruding rails and pinsand lever system if you're loading stuff in there to impact? Thanks!

The brackets for the F-150 and all bigger fit behind the box link. You still maintain the box link to tie stuff down. It gets hot to the touch in direct sun light, you wont want to touch it above 85 degree weather. the rails are strong but we have not run a test.

What if your tailgate doesn't lock?
You can purchase an aftermarket tailgate lock :)
