Universe Mode is all I care about. I play through a year every year with my own in game head canon going on.
Me too. I do the attitude era & ruthless era with the roster & CC’s - I wish they had all the assets for at least all the raws and smackdowns over the years , I can’t stand when they have the arena and logo but no reply menu, no transition screen, it’s when they’re incomplete that I lose it 😢

Since 2K14, I’ve ran a story that WWE bought my local backyard promotion and runs it the way WWECW worked. I’d be mad if it goes away cause I’ve been running a story for 10+ years.
If they do end up merging GM mode and Universe mode together, I hope they still give us the option to have a sandbox mode or "free" mode where we don't have to worry about ratings or contracts etc. (so basically just Universe mode). Universe mode was always my dream mode and unfortunately it's never been as good as it can be, mostly due to 2K not doing enough with it. Albeit it's not amazing, its still good for what it is and hope it stays.
Considering how 2k acts, they're not going to give that, they're going to give you one or the other and tell you to deal with it.
Having robust options never hurts. But it’d more likely just be an on/off switch 😕
Lmao wtf “so just basically universe mode” 🤣 I play my gym mode for the ratings and management aspect of it. Hard a.i managers but Normal difficulty. It’s fun bro. They can do promos n call outs n you can simulate or play matches you set up. You can hype a star’s popularity and build them up amongst other stars and champs. When I feel like turning off my brain I just do random matches in free mode. For gym mode to improve I’d say for sure the seasons full 52 weeks not 25. You can go forever n carry progress n fans but I mean the actually season feels short. More match types n up to 8 man. And removal of like 2-3 power cards tbh. Like the a.i veto card your most popular draw. I got around that by swapping my top female n male stars each ppv in pop so I can use one at least in ppv
You can also turn off classes and make everyone the same type so that’s not an issue n make it more enjoyable

Im sick of belts and arenas being removed instead of built on and same with attires especially when creating arenas and shows with not the right backgrounds and nameplates
Yeah it really pisses me off that they remove arenas that they add in the next game. Like imagine all the arenas we’d have if they didn’t remove an arena since 2k15
We need to be able to create a title enteace like an indepth title entrance like how you choose all of that in advanced entrance creation.
Wonder how after all these years even since PS2 era why they've never bothered to put a more detailed title entrance for stage,ramp & ring. Instead we have the lame presets
yea i agree like i play on ps5 and its funny because you can get the old arenas on pc with mods, and i have both but my friends have console and i play universe mode and online with but you don't get the luxury of mods on console like you do on pc.

If they removed showcase mode to improve other game modes like myrise, gm mode, stuff like that. I’m all for it. I think that’ll be really benefiting for the product. Showcase is only played once then after it’s not thought about again. They can take that out and bring more features towards myrise to give it replay value
They’ve fucked Showcase anyway because it’s not fun. The real life footage merged with in game footage sucks and the new gameplay elements like combos makes doing objectives in Showcase a pain in the ass to the point I put the difficulty on easy when I played through it.

Double title entrances are getting taken out for sure. 2K didn’t want to add them in the first place and wouldn’t have if Roman wasn’t entering with two belts when 2k23 came out. Now that he doesn’t they’ll be back out the door.
the only wrestlers that could make the double title entrance work were Orton, Roman reigns, The rock and Stone cold steve austin.

I really like the idea of scrapping GM Mode, Superstar Mode, and even showcase mode for 1 year. Putting all the resources in to Universe Mode, then using Universe Mode as the base to build all other game modes. I am not sure of people realize that all these different modes don’t communicate with each other, meaning, if they update something in the game, they have to update that thing in each mode. So it would be great if this gets fixed in 2024 and they focus on Updating and Revamping The Sandbox. Then in 2025 bring the other modes back, but in the same sandbox. This idea is bigger than this comment, would take a few videos to flush this one out

@@briansmedley6783 Unfortunately, they're not going to. They could sell a tenth of the copies of the game they currently do and still turn a hefty profit if the only people buying the game were people interested in MyFaction, especially if they were people very likely to spend a lot of money in it.
4:25 that is basically the whole reason I don’t play GM Mode. The weight class system is too constraining.
i said this before I'm hoping they add custom shows in mygm with custom logos and arenas, and i believe you assemble about everything you said, so next month 2k should be showing a trailer promoting the new wwe2k24 video game.
It feels like they're not even thinking long enough for most of the "new" features, like they could've literally put copy most of the normal championship entrances and stick a second title around the superstar's waist and THERE... you have your double championship entrance (you know KINDA LIKE BACK IN DAY). It's cheap but at least it's a lot more than what they've given us.
Still can't believe they hyped this shit up for months like it was making a complete comeback 😭
I'd love 2K to remove any involuntary animations like rolling out the ring, grabbing the ropes, the stun meter etc. Drives me nuts.
Make some of them optional at least, or provide a mini-game to get out of the stun meter or something

I’m with you on removing the red glow when stunned and the dodge move. They also need to eliminate rolling out of the ring every so often when you take a bunch of offense. I get why it’s there, but it happens too much. Maybe limit it to once a match.
Ya like a big finisher or if they get to a deep purple level . That I can do but in 23 it happens so much
They could make it happen only when you're close to the ropes, that way it makes sense... Rolling out while you're in the middle of the ring, just doesn't make sense... Sometimes I don't even want to go outside the ring .. Boom I'm making Saxton c**p his pants
I feel like that Showcase and superstar mode could be removed, but I think that My faction should definitely be removed while having GM Mode and universe mode have improvements, I expect GM mode, MyRise and universe mode to stay.
I’d love it if they got rid of that My faction mode. The only that’ll happen if if NO one spends any money in it

Gotta disagree heavily on Create a Video. I loooove the feature after discovering it!
The wide variety of stock footage/effects are great for making a TON of different custom trons. I could make a Wyatt Family-style tron as easily as a Keith Lee or Jon Moxley. It’s limited in features (it’s basically an extremely primitive video editing software) but the Mass Media Studies student in me couldn’t help but nerd out over making custom trons to flesh out my Universe Mode :P
It also works really well with custom images; the community definitely breathes life into the Create a Video mode for me personally.
I think you merge GM mode and universe mode into one having options to how you want to play the mode such as sandbox which is your traditional universe mode and then you have contracts and all the GM stuff that you can turn on or off if you want. Put promos back in the game, and expand on the cut scene system. Allow us to have more freedom on what happens. if they’re not gonna add, create a story to the game just add more stuff to that system in addition to promos, and then you have create a story in some fashion. Just take all of that and expand on it. Lots of creators could have a lot of fun with that if more options were there.
Yes I agree but also keep the my GM mode interface of setting up matches n ppv, the cards, and view when simulating a show or match or play them instead of universe modes, it’s quicker n smoother tbh. All the match type freedom from universe mode too and up to 8 man. As a GM player I like the aspect of management but turning it off is nice for those who don’t, long as GM players get more match types and bodies in matches. I like building up popularity, fans, managing money/stars. The cutscenes from universe mode. In GM mode I still build up rivalries, n call outs and interferences, but would like to be able to see those scenes.
And competition form a.i ran shows. I like the freedom of universe mode but no competition over time takes away from the experience. Can get dull and when there ain’t an overarching goal or something. That’s why I need them a.I fans on social media saying my show was ass and NXT was better lmao
Something that I wish they would fix if MyGM stays is getting the PLEs in the right order. Is it just me, or does Survivor Series always come before Summerslam in MyGM for some weird reason? Like how do they not have those 2 particular events not in the right order?
I would hope for a longer, more detailed, branching MyRise, and not temoving creation parts. Universe should receive some reformatting, making stories interesting and involved. The how remains to be seen. Why promos were removed is a mystery.
But we all know MyFaction will get the bulk of the work.
I hope Wwe2k24 can have these features to the game to add more fun official modes:
1. 5v5v5 tag match
2. Men vs Women matches
3. Battle Royal can go up to 4-20 wrestlers in the ring.
4. Royal Rumble Facts: No more 8 wrestlers in the ring, it can have no limits in the ring it can go up to as many wrestlers in the ring. Also the rope out of the ring you can also fight your opponent on the edge of the ring.
Hopefully they can think about this
I totally agree with you Matt about GM and universe meshing together. It could really help both modes feel fresh and provide a new level of fun and give players more control and strategy to universe.
ya like i said, i feel like if 24 adds a lot more to it, it could surpass universe mode. maybe just combining the features in to 1 WWE Live mode would be better

IF they were to do an Undertaker showcase, they could include the Boiler Room Brawl, this would require improvements to the Backstage Brawls to some degree. This would be even more important if they were to do a Mick Foley showcase.
For things I think most fans would like to see removed, it does seem the MyFaction mode isn't exactly popular. 2K love it because they love money, but if it's not selling as well as they hoped then perhaps they will give up on it.

DA ROCK
Randy Orton
Jimmy uso
Jey uso
Sami zayn
Kevin Owens
John cena
Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins and Miz too. Seeing as they’re the kings of double titles

All I care about is fading face paint, the ability to pull the singlet straps down, and crawling pins. Crowd fighting would be nice too, but the last 3 i mentioned are simple yet mean so much in terms of realism & immersion. I'm a simple man with a realistic outlook.
GM Mode is a must-have after waiting 10+ years to have it back. But in order to get it to where it needs to be, they need to focus a lot of time on it. So removing Superstar mode, Create a Video, & MyFaction would help. GM Mode NEEDS Royal Rumble. We need to be able to book some superstars in the Royal Rumble. Also; It sucks that it's so cookie cutter. They need to figure out a way for us to have GM Mode without it HAVING to be the same amount of matches on all shows. We should be able to Add/remove as many matches & promo slots as we want. Also, custom championships, and cash ins.
Things i can see removing is the dodge mechanic possibly giving us remove straps and blending universe mode and gm mode. I see showcase staying because its become more popular especially with people loving to unlock older arenas, characters, and attires. I also se them upgrading the weapon wheel and also a injury overhaul system like the svr days.
I could see my faction getting remove because of that lawsuit i been hearing and my idea for my faction replacement is season mode or road to wrestlemania
Universe mode needs something like the Nemesis system from Shadows of Mordor. That would be a good way to freshen things up imo
They should just drop online play it doesnt work half time and that would free up alot to improve the game
I wish they’d remove the thunder dome arenas as well. I hated those when wwe had them and I never pick those in the game unless I’m hurrying into the match up and it happens by accident. I wish they’d take out the roster scroll when selecting a wrestler and put back in the superstar map to select your wrestler.
You know what? If you play 2k15 the universe mode had over 800 cut scenes and you had story rivalry which had due to real life matches. Y’all check it out. I couldn’t believe it had that much cut scenes. And it had story progression. To be honest the universe mode back then is way better and you had story designer. It get boring on 2k23 universe mode it need a new refresh build. They took everything out of universe mode

Looking back 2k14 absolutely spoiled us. Literally had every WrestleMania and even had a concept WM30 (it released 5 months before the actual event) and had so many Wrestlers in the base roster
U are right about everything in this video. I do miss the good old OMG moments and kinda want to see more and new OMG moves instead of using the original moves like said for John Cena with the two people Double AA and Double Samoan Drop. I kinda want to see more of that in anything else. What is your best opinion on this Mr. Assemble🤔?
ya that be cool if they made giant finisher spots OMG moments like the AA or went back to breaking the ring is a OMG moment, or finish a match with a top rope elbow through announce table
They need to go back to story mode or season mode like it was in Smackdown HCTP where you take 1 character through an entire season and after you'll able to choose a different character and then carry over title history and stats and play up to 20-30 season's
I wish they would remove gm mode and just focus more on making universe mode more immersive. Add backstage segments and bring back promos. More diverse rivalries. Also forget showcase and bring back road to wrestlemania featuring cody rhodes, cm punk, jade Cargill, and then one where you can select any superstar/woman where they have unique scenarios. Then change myrise to an online experience where you start as a rookie and work your way up to legendary status where you can unlock new customizable content for your characters.
They should also implement unlocking characters through universe mode like they used to. And save the currency for online myrise experience where you use the money you won from matches to up your stats. And do double vc on nights of ples for match winners
Here is my idea "Universe mode" should be the overall category like the Creation Suite.then within that you got GM mode, a Story mode (like a small showcase like thing or something), and "universe mode" where it's more of an Open Format / sandbox GM mode.
I like superstar mode personally, but the exact points that you touched on make it not as fun. And it’s broken. Doesn’t let you fight in rivalries you select and randomly crashes at loading screen. Too much of the game is broken
GM mode needs to be made like SVR 2008 I don’t know why it’s so hard to do
I would 100% rather play a Road to Wrestlemania than another Showcase.
I've been saying this for years but they need to do what NBA 2k did make the universe and gm mode a single mode with free-lance capabilities for you to recreate eras and etc. or straight up cheat if that's your thing (turning off injuries or financial restrictions making trades/draft picks easier to get it taking them from the other brand) that means giving us the ability to manage contracts staff and general moods of stars with appropriate financial restrictions and etc. have everyone signed to a brand to real life contracts like NBA 2k then manage the money as you go better matches and ratings equals more money they can use a better version of there star rating to judge match intrigue I personally dislike the current star rating because you can just spam moves and finishers to get 5 stars but I doubt they'll do any of this at least for another 3-4 yrs
I want chain wrestling back. I don’t love combos. I also wish we could set specific reversals in create a moveset.
They should just bring back the double title entrance where you'd do the regular single title entrance with the other title on your waist
Dodging should be used for cruiserweights only and the make a video I actually use even tho it takes up hella data that could be used for other stuff
Man you have the exact same thoughts I've had recently about merging universe and my GM and making the my gm less 'rock paper scissors' which is so annoying.
I would really like to have some generic videos for mini trons because it's so hard to create a vibe for an entrance when all of the mini trons have names on them.
They should be focusing on ADDING, not REMOVING!
They need to bring back season and 24/7 mode

@Assemble Another problem is with the titan tron I would want to make it better by taking another level by downloading a wrestlers irl titantron from youtube and added it in that way could be way better

Superstar is the only mode I play outside of Quick Match, but it definitely needs way more content.
Get rid of MyFaction, and replace it with Create A Finisher, and a more in depth Universe mode.
I'd like to see a dream match showcase between wrestlers and teams who would've had great rivalries had they worked together at the same time. Bret Hart v. Kurt Angle. Chyna v. Rhea Ripley.
I never touched GM and haven't played Universe since 2K20, I just play Exhibition/Play matches.
For the showcase and backstage brawls they could mesh the two together to give us a 24/7 world tour or something where we have to engage in these fights in different backstage environments like bars, car parks, the street, the locker room, production truck etc and outside of that give us replayable moments from the history of the 24/7 championship
WWE 13 was the best man you can't beat that, 2K doesn't know know anything about WWE

There’s so much they can do with GM mode like more shows/GMs (ECW, Black & Gold NXT, Teddy Long, 80s Raw, FCW, Paul Heyman, Booker T, Drake Maverick, Etc.), more dynamic wrestler morale, wrestler chemistry instead of classes, Staffs (writing, wrestlers morale, marketing, financial, etc.), contact negotiations (part timers, bonuses, one show contracts, trades, buyouts, etc.), sending wrestlers down to those “development” shows (Heat, Main Event, Level Up, etc.), actual storylines, etc.
I kinda hope they do bring back OMG moves legit in 2K22 and 2K23 I've never once been able to break the barricade also I agree that not much of value would be lost if they remove Superstar Mode cuz Universe is pretty broken as is and regular Universe could use a lot more work but also I tried doing a Superstar mode with CM Punk and instead of giving me a proper feud it was just random Triple Threat Matches with no stakes every week and then at Backlash it put me in a random nonsense 6-Man Tag Team Match so I just gave up cuz there was no logical direction for me
I honestly don't agree with the whole mimic what's on TV because from the clips I've seen, it's absolute dogshit. 2K should stray far away from what they are and aren't doing on TV. I mean it's a video game at the end of the day, get creative
Also would bring in lettering fonts , when making Titantron. If possible maybe even create a video on community creations or ability to upload gifs 😆
Superstar mode is what I play exclusively, it’s the main mode for your own CAS, you do get cutscenes with rivalries etc, sure it’s not perfect but it’s the main mode for created superstars.
Actually really like the parry/sway implementation. The constant reversals have never looked right, or made the game play sim. I’m personally more into a hybrid version of the game. I don’t want it to play like Here comes the pain, but a little bit of arcade here and there makes the game far more entertaining to watch and play imo then a pure WWE sim. I hope they bring back OMG, and please for the love of god bring back promo in Universe mode 🥲
I wish they would fix the part on multilayer when you can select your wrestlers and choose the different costumes for your character, but you can't see what it looks like! 😅

They might remove the thunderdome arena but they for sure will keep summerslam'88 lol
They should gives alot more options with create arena node “ more parts, longer ramps and for turn bunckle pads have more options like have different stickers in all 3” etc
I play superstar mode but they need to give you Freeplay to customize everything. Customize tag teams, championships, etc. I do also like the dodge element because most people when they start a match they charge into you. It is more specifically helpful for technicians and strikers. I don't think they need to remove it but revamp it. They should make a reversal for technicians and strikers like how Angle would use his ankle lock when he has a finisher stored or Bret Hart with the sharpshooter.
2k22 had the best superstar mode in universe mode for 1 reason. The battle royals are hilarious. It reminds me of a Japanese Rumble where you get eliminated by pinfall, submission or over the top rope. However with the over the top rope. Only the regular on the rope works as throwing them from the corner doesn't work (I haven't tested on the others). Also I can springboard from the inside to someone who is outside, throw them in and and just walk around outside and not be eliminated
Judgment day finn and Damien have double titles which they need to fix.
I wish we can travel to backstage to the arena and back that would be epic hopefully they do it

Universe mode should go back to kinda how it was in the earlier games. You could pick the fued story which gave you different cuts scenes and gave you more control over the rivalry than just playing the match
GM & Universe Mode merging would be cool

For Universal Mode, I wish they'd let you have an option to start with absolutely nothing set. You choose the shows, the titles, the rosters for each show, and so on.
Double titled entrances be nice to unlock for certain players if there's a Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes// similar for Daniel Bryan ROH-WWE days, Bray Wyatt, or a Undertaker special Showcase($16.99 pack with Druids.)
Create a video is actually great and I use every slot. It's actually really easy to create generic titantrons. I personally just do generic company trons like TNA, AEW, ROH, NJPW and I give created wrestlers which ever tron of the company they work for. That way it's not a WWE logo on a guy who has never wrestled in WWE

And I would like them to make Saturday a ppv day
The calendar should be clean so we can make our own shows
If they mix gm and universe we should still have superstar mode so if you get drafted by the gm, you play in that gm's brand
And they should add the draft to universe modr
They should replace the dodge mechanic with a counterattack reversal. We see it all the time on TV when one person hits the other one, and before they fall, they counter attack and then both superstars fall
I think it would be good to bring back svr type game where you can explore anywhere backstage and fight, also more match types more weapons, crowd weapons and maybe create a weapon or make it where you place the ladder or kendo stick in the corner and put your opponent through it more legends , remove my faction , add promos and omg these are just a few id like to see in 2k24 oh and the ring bell as a weapon its there you just cant grab it.
the only thing i like about the my superstar mode is the match records. if universe mode had that there would actually be no reason to ever even boot up my superstar
Big fan of merging GM & Universe mode together.. add in some story elements and it can be a lot of fun.
As far as Showcase Mode goes 2K could do a Paul Heyman Showcase where you wrestle as past Paul Heyman Guys or Dangerous Alliance members like Madusa or ECW wrestlers that he managed throughout his managerial career.
One thing I would like to see in 2k24 is if you bought 2k22 or 23 you should be able to bring the showcase characters over from there
Them taking out show pyro intros is crazy, Like why even take that out anyway.
I dislike when they take things out, and I agree with you on the GM Mode department.
I didn't even know create a video was still a feature. It's not something I've noticed being in any game since 2k20.
I liked like GM and universe mode together cause you’d have hella stories and draft wars would happen and turn out allot better maybe you’d be able to perform as the GM and they comment on why is the GM doing this/that what’s going on
The one feature I would really like for 2K to update is the catch finishers. They should get rid of the generic Lift catch finishers there honestly getting old now and they should get rid of the ability to have the RKO as a regular generic reversal for the Stomp, it should only be a catch finisher. Andre the giant doing a RKO is just weird and stupid. The way they should update it is make the catch finishers more realistic, like the Coast to Coast into a spear or the shooting star press into the RKO a Spear into a pedigree. etc
@Assemble I have an hunch 2k could remove double title match’s but I could see them fusing universe mode,creat a story and my gm together to get the ultimate wwe sandbox experience makes a lot of sense and plus that can be one mode 2k can do as very distinctive mode that be a 2k only that can bring back new and old players together in one place plus 2k could make a lot money from it and if they keep cc and then you would literally have the ultimate wrestling sandbox experience for every one to benefit and win on both ends
I agree with a lot of the features you say that might be removed. I also think that for 2k24, they should merge GM mode and universe mode. As it stands, universe mode feels barebone. Definitely doesn’t even come close to universe mode in years past. One big thing they should bring back is promos. Have wrestlers cut promos calling out so and so wrestler and then next week the AI takes this into consideration and books a match with them both. GM mode has a lot more of a universe mode feel. That’s why a merge of both would be really good. Also instead of showcase, maybe they can do a 40th anniversary of Wrestlemania like they did for 2k14.
What would be cool is if they added a option to upload a custom tron that you made like on a pc of phone because i make pretty good custom trons on cap cut for my wwe and aew action figures and i dont think copyright will be a problem
They need to find a way to combine GM Mode and the overly glitched out Universal Mode.

I’m still playing single player mode I think they’re gonna expand this by either taking away my rise or adding more features. But if they take this out then universe mode stays nd gm might go. But I honestly think superstar mode is gonna stay it feel too much like road to wrestle mania but better. They just needa add more statistics.
i dont play my gm, faction, rise or showcase. Exhibition, Universe and i like making my own characters or update characters outfits that it they need to bring back create a story like in wwe 13 and 14.
