I love David’s ability to show so many emotions with his face. When Donna says “Bad Wolf” I love the way he looks so happy, concerned, scared, and excited to see Rose.
@@SR-iy4gg Aye, more like "Oh SHI....!" It's REALLY amazing though how Tennant goes from "wondering and a bit concerned" to "absolute Panic" with just a very subtle change of his facial experession.
Uh, no. He's more concerned with the fact that Rose being back means walls are coming down and it means the whole universe is kaput. The Rose obsession is silly.
Well, the cards were set in motion nearly 4 seasons earlier. I miss these kinds of things... People knew the time would come, but no one knew when or what exactly it would mean. By the end of season 4, no one expected time to be up :) It was satisfying in that we would finally find out what the 'end of the universe' actually meant.
The series 1 plot hook, with series 2 dimension hopping, and series 3 music. This really felt like the entire revival series had been neatly wrapped together in one moment.
That's what made the RTD era so brilliant. It was all one big story intertwined with smaller stories for each series that all interconnected with one another by series 4. All the companions were well-developed and interconnected with one another too.
I always loved how throughout series 4, they were foreshadowing this throughout each episode. With rose appearing randomly, planets disappearing, man they really did this well. Ladies and gentlemen, this is foreshadowing right here
kinda like in series 5 when the doctor lost his jacket in time of the angels and then it was magicly on in the next scene and everyone thought it was a production error untill in the finalie it was revealed that it was the doctor after he was deleted from the universe
Moffat kinda got that right in series 5, but then he had to outdo himself by introducing even more confusing plots that lead nowhere later down the 11th Doctor era.
RTD did that in all his season, which I loved. Season 1: Bad Wolf Season 2: Torch Wood Season 3: Prime Minister Saxon Season 4: Rose appearing, planets disappearing. Honorable mention for the tenth Doctor’s hand. It appeared for brief seconds all over Torchwood season 1 and Doctor Who season 4. So it never felt like an out of no-where plot point, but rather a satisfying payoff.
I love how the Tardis is doing everything it can to tell the Doctor it's an emergency, even making all the signs and banners say Bad Wolf instead of translating them like usual.
Everyone is saying that the TARDIS put the words "Bad Wolf" everyone, but nah, guys, nah, remember what Rose said in "The Parting of the Ways": "I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself. I take the words. I scatter them across time and space. A message to lead myself here." ROSE put those words everywhere. She did that all the way back in season one. ;)
I would actually guess Rose just manipulated the time vortex to make the TARDIS translate everything to bad wolf. TARDIS basically runs on the time vortex and there is even the warning sound at the end of the clip, like there was an anomaly in the system.
lolololgoodtimes Russel T. Davies is a brilliant writer. Doctor Who benefited a lot from his script writing. To be honest I wouldn’t be surprised if Bad Wolf is an anagram.

Seasons 1-4 Seasons 5-10 Two different shows let’s be honest and I will always consider them so. I know it’s all Doctor Who, but in order to get this scene, you need to watch series 1. In order to get any scenes in 5-10, the first 4 seasons are not necessary.
It was intended to be that way. That way new viewers could start watching the show without having to watch several seasons in order to understand what's going on. If you don't do that every so often you get the dreaded continuity lockout. Where the show struggles to get any new viewership because new viewers are struggling to understand what's going on, and either don't have the time or desire to watch several seasons to understand things.
That music does something to you man, like an alien hopes into your heart and starts playing guitar of you heart strings. Also when I heart heart strings I think Harkness, as in Captian Jack Harkness. I'm defiantly a Whovian
Having watched Doctor Who since it restarted in 2005, I remember these scenes happening. I still get the same feelings when I rewatch them :) makes me nostalgic though.
This is an example of truly great writing/acting/directing/editing/scoring. We, the audience, already know it’s Rose, and yet the “reveal” is still impactful because the shock to the Doctor is so well depicted.
It is good The difference is moffat made it complicated thats all. He wanted to be more clever with his era and it came across complex. That doesn't make it bad. It was just a different taste after being so used to RTD
I was so lucky to be growing up as a small child during the initial run of the DW revival. So many memories of episodes like this where I was genuinely gripped and terrified. Tennant and Tate’s superb delivery and the genius of Murray Gold just makes this scene absolutely perfect. It gets said a lot, but Russel T Davies wrote my childhood.
Donna: "bad wolf" Doctor: "Fuck! I need to get to the TARDIS!" TARDIS: "wtf? What is this?" Doctor: "bad wolf!" TARDIS: "FUCK, time to turn on my red fucking LEDs!!!"
As much as I love The Doctor and Rose's "reunion" in The Stolen Earth, I would've loved if they could've doubled down on the "A message to lead myself here." Quote from Parting Of The Ways so the The Tardis could manipulate Torchwood's Dimension Cannon to bring Rose directly into the Console Room as soon as Donna and The Doctor enter... Like where Donna says; "What's Bad Wolf?" Then Rose walks out from behind the Console stating "It's The End Of The Universe." Instead of The Doctor who is struck bewildered and simply says; "Rose?" Then cut to black.
Everyone talking about Tennant's subtle acting, but let's talk about Tate's remembering two words she doesn't understand. It's not an actress reading her lines, it's her character trying to recreate the memory in her mind to hear the words. It's why these two are still working together even after Doctor Who, they're really acting together.
Yeah, absolutely stellar acting and the reason why ten always will be the best Doctor. Other had their legendary MOMENTS, Tennant had a complete legendary RUN of multiple SEASONS!
