Ahh Donna, years later and I still miss her. Her relationship with the Doctor was fantastic. 0% sexual tension, 100% fun.
“YOU’RE NOT GONNA MATE WITH ME SUNSHINE.”
One of the few relationships in New Who that has a Classic Who feel. Sort of reminded me of the Third Dr and Sarah Jane. I know 4 & Sarah (4 dropped the Jane bit) is the most popular combo, but I'd have liked to see another year with 3 & SJ
good news, she is back for the 60th anniversary

Underrated? I don't know a single person who doesn't like Donna Noble, so I don't know what you're talking about!

I don't know how Catherine Tate is underrated, still, though, also, too, although.

Daleks screaming in pure confusion while spinning out of control is the funniest thing for some reason
A human-like race, mutated into squidlike beings which are biologically hardwired to not die from old age and sealed into suits of nigh-impregnable armor with weapons attached and a time field that erases projectiles from existence, conditioned to hate every other living thing in the universe and know nothing but hatred - reduced to a bunch of out of control, sentient bumper cars screaming for help and for someone to explain what the hell is going in.
I love it.
@@jacoblansman8147 Let's not forget "Admit it. You've all had this _exact_ nightmare." two regenerations later 👀
@@WackoMcGoose 11 wasn't the cause of this but him taunting the Daleks for no longer knowing who he was is also hilarious.
@@jacoblansman8147 "Titles are not meaningful in this context. Doctor _who?"_ "Doctor who?"

I just love the Dalek's mannerisms. EXPLAIN???? EXPLAIIINNNN????
"Aw, the universe has been waitin' for me!"
Then I cry because she never gets to.
Also, Jack can't tell you what he's thinking right now because it's before the 9 oclock watershed.
The best part of all this is just how well Catherine Tate emulated the Doctor's mannerisms. The light speed rattling off of what she did, the exclamation of Davros' part in the DoctorDonna's awakening, the taunting when taking over the Daleks' movement, it was delightfully done. Lady's got chops.
Even the verbal tics. That "Oh yes" right at the start is a 10th Doctor thing.
She’s phenomenal. You should see David and Catherine together in Much Ado About Nothing; they’re amazing.
1:43 Donna: "AAAAAnd spin!"
Dalek: "Help me! Help me!"
Donna: "AAAAAAnd the other way!"
Dalek: *confused screaming*
Hilarious how she said aaaand spin
i always think in this scene in my mind, the daleks screaming "WHEEEEEEEEEEEE"
The OG Doctor: "What'd you do?"
The DoctorDonna: "A flipstick circuit breaker in the psycho-netic threshold manipulator."
The MetaCrisis Doctor: "But that's brilliant! Why didn't we ever think of that?"
"Out of the way"
i like how all the daleks are just "help me!"
Same
One More Minute yea
DrawWinG LizarRd They're just spinning around crying for help
Relatable.
One More Minute
yep
And somehow, that always saddened me. Now I understand why: "What are Daleks without power to destroy? Nothing" Their emptiness really saddens me, i never understood why that scene in concrete always made me pity them, certainly not the fact that they cannot harm anyone, but the fact that they cannot even properly react without any power to kill and cry for help. I should have learned it long ago from that Dalek that chose self-destruction in season 1 of new series rather than embrace his capability for new feelings and evolve (he called it "disease")
"Well don't just stand there, you skinny boys in suits! Get to work!!" XD
My Favorite Line , from that clip
Donna was my favorite companion. What happened after this is the most heart-wrenching thing in my recollection of Dr. Who history.
She was the most important woman in the universe.
Really? I thought Idris saying "Hello" was far more emotional. Sure, Donna was the first companion with a personality in New Who, but the parting really could have been done a lot better.
MrDonovan2 Donna is my favorite Companion followed by Captain Jack (after taking over Torchwood) and Clara.
I believe Idris was the Tardis's matrix in physical form.
ApolloXL5 Yes, but this way is more precise which scene I'm referring to.
Donna’s exit was one of the most saddest one in the entire show. “I was gonna be with you...forever.” 😭😭 and when the doctor was about to wipe her memory she wanted to die rather than lose her memory.
That wasn't the Doctor's decision to make. Peter Capaldi's Doctor is one of my least favourites but to his credit, when Clara was in a similar situation in Hell Bent he respected her enough to let her decide for herself after she told him that she didn't want to have her memory wiped.
@@tomnorton4277 youre right, the doctor made donna go back to the life that she so very hated
It's even more heart-breaking when you realise, as part Time Lord, she really COULD have travelled with him forever. Human body with a time lords lifespan.
She hasn't forgotten. Judging by the 60th trailers and the fact she named her daughter Rose. She still dreams about her travels with The Doctor I think and is aware that she's missing something.
@@lewismoreton4856combinded with assuming it scaled her life span to the average time lord she could have ever well out lived him in that case with the obvious exception of murder

It’s classic camp, doctor who should never lose it imo
She will ALWAYS be my fave companion, she was the Doctors best friend, something that wad pure and beautiful and what companions were back in the day, no love interest, just pure friendship. That is what the Doctor needed and always had needed, he did NOT need a love interest ever but that is why this friendship is the greatest thing in the modern Who series.
What happens after this I will forever cry over, it starts when the Doctor does and says what he does but then its just a total sob fest when Wilf says the final few lines standing in the door way of their home when he is saying goodbye to the Doctor.
Agree 100%
This is one of the best series finales of the new show.
I personally think "The End of Time" part one and two were the best by far. On 2nd place would be "Time of the Doctor" and the 50th and the finale of season 6. And this would go on the third place together with the season 7 finale.
Vetras Tsuriai
Oh, we'll have to disagree there. I thought "The End of Time" was one of the worst stories in NuWho history.
mrwho995 Love and monsters? Fear her? The end of time was bad, but it wasnt nearly the worst of new who
brocollitreehouse Well, this discussion was about finales, but if you want to include those, sure. Though i don't even remember which one was "Fear her". Unfortunately I do remember the other one.
I disagree. This is my LEAST favorite season finale. I loved The Stolen Earth. The Daleks were great, the set-up was great, and the return of Davros was great. Then Journey's End made the Daleks into bumbling, incompetent morons who put a control panel that controls their casings and all their plans in a PRISON with THEIR MOST HATED ENEMY AND THEIR LEAST TRUSTED ALLY, and turned a really good companion into Adric, only somehow more annoying. And don't get me started on the false regeneration that not only spits in the face of everything previously established about regeneration, but the very concept of it.
"D'you wanna bet, Time Boy?"
God, I love this woman.
I swear, the DoctorDonna coulda ended the Time War with a single Blackberry phone and that grin. For how grim and heavy and *desperate* this whole arc went, watching Donna *literally* playing with the Daleks like they were toys is brilliant.
This two parter episode is probably my favorite episode of Doctor Who ever! Every one of 10's companions, the Daleks, Judoon and Davros all in one two parter episode. It was just EPIC! I wish those companions would come back in some way. *sigh*
I loved it too. It was so exciting at the time to see all the companions together. I don't think I'll ever get that excited for Doctor Who again, lol. Unless they do a 10 year anniversary of NuWho.
ZantofDarkness it's technically a 3 parter.
Same ! My fav two part finale of the reboot of Doctor who to date
Good news, my friend...
This was like the Infinity War of Dr who.
I love how the meta crisis Doctor looks super impressed. I was also kind of upset with 10 cause he didn’t seem more excited but now I know that was just because he was worried 🥲🥲I’m so glad they’re coming back. I’ve missed them and their banter 😂😂
Something I just realised, Metacrisis Doctor has memories of being the only Timelord left, and now he's still the only Timelord-Human metacrisis. To him, that's normal. There's "never been another like me", is what he said.
However, not long after, Donna arrives and is ALSO a Human-Timelord metacrisis. He's not the only one. There IS another like him. And after he was made from her, and now she's been made from him, they're like two halves of a whole. They're like each other, and he's not the only one, he's not alone anymore. So, of course he's thrilled!
RIP Elisabeth Sladen

3:00 i love Jackies attitude right here its like shes saying to herself "and to think as a child i used to be scared of thoses angry pepper pots" LOL
Essentially the 10th human Doctor is the child of Donna & The Doctor, who ends up with Rose living happily ever after traveling & running around in the parallel universe saving & exploring.lol there were 4th Doctor in that episode the 2 10th Doctors,Doctor Donna & Dr.Martha Jones MD.
it's a shame the 11th Doctor didn't drop by the visit Donna or her grandfather Wilfred to let him know his doing okay. still hoping for the 12th or essentially 13th (Capaldi) to visit them.
I miss everyone in this scene, definetly one of my favourites!
except Davros, obviously
Tais Grim Davros, Sarah Jane, Martha, and MAYBE Captain Jack are the only ones I really miss. Davros was an awesome villain, Martha was Rose if Rose had been a well-written character (Rose was way too selfish, clingy, and whiny, IMO), Sarah Jane... just watch Pyramids of Mars or The Hand of Fear and let her chemistry with Tom Baker do the talking, Captain Jack... I guess he was good, I just haven't seen a lot of him.
I mentioned my problems with Rose, Jackie was annoying, Mickey was meh, Donna was mostly good, but boy did they make her annoying in this scene, the Tenth Doctor is possibly my least favorite Doctor (He wasn't unbearably bad, I just didn't like how inconsistent he was in Series 2, how he ignored Martha in Series 3, and how he was nasty to the general/captain/military commander guy in The Sontaran Strategem as well as his own DAUGHTER because they used guns), and the Supreme Dalek in this story is almost more incompetent than the one from Resurrection of the Daleks (not listening to the prophet Dalek, putting a control panel in a PRISON with the Doctor).
you have no idea how much i miss Donna and Ten... those good old days... and to me, there will never be companion like Donna Noble. *sniffs*
This episode has so many amazing moments but one of my favourites is this small one at 2:55. Companions interacting with each other is always amazing and I love these two so much. Another is when Martha realises that the Doctor found Rose again and she is just so happy for him!
One of my favourite scenes ever, I keep coming back to this even though it’s been over a decade

I also really liked the "pond era".
The series needs more main characters again I think.
I hope mister pink will timetravel too and he should be nicer to the doctor and vice versa. The current season is "dark" enough already.

2:59 After all these years, my favorite moment is still when Jackie Tyler putting her hands on her hips as if she did anything to contribute 😂
1:30 I love how Davros is just sat still with his jaw dropped, as if he's just so utterly baffled he can't even respond.
I love how Tentoo's behaviour is so similar yet at times so different to Ten's because of that little bit of humanity, that little bit of Donna, and thay little bit of furious post-regeneration energy, and how we get to see direct comparisons here.
Doctor Donna was the best thing that ever happened!
Josie Coleman It was literally a lowlight of the whole show. What utter nonsense.

Ah, I love Donna😁
“ Thank you Davros! “
Who knew that the series 4 finale was unofficially the 45th anniversary special, and it was so epic. 15 years later, and this scene still puts a smile on my face.
If Catherine Tate ever wanted to reprise her role, I’m sure it's easy to explain away.
Her new storyline could be that she is met by the doctor, who accidentally makes her remember, or she sees the Tardis and starts to remember what happened.
As she approaches, she is burning up; the energy is killing her. As it burns up, the doctor brings her into the Tardis, assuming that she may have already died.
What nobody realises is that over the years the regeneration energy has dwindled. It was just enough to burn the rest of the Timelord out of her, leaving her completely human.
She comes back and remembers everything in her life from that point up to now. Donna and the doctor adventure for one last run before she ultimately says goodbye to live her life with her kids and husband.
Don't worry everyone; I'm sure they’ll put me in charge of Doctor Who one day 🤷♂️.
”You’ve changed... space boy” Donna says wearily as she opens her eyes, blinking and looking into all of time and space within the Doctor’s eyes.
”And there you are, Donna Noble, brilliant as ever.” replies The Doctor.
”So how am I..? What am I...?” Donna says reaching so desperately for an answer.
”Mmm well, it would appear that the very last remnants of timelord regeneration energy were burning and killing you until The Tardis destabilized the energy into it’s own artron energy field, quantizing it back into bite size time lord wibbly wobblies” replied the doctor, trying to pass the comment off as basic knowledge.
As Donna Travels she keeps getting a headache followed by flashbacks of her time in the tardis. The artron energy is being dispersed but it's still reverting back to Donna before dying off.
These flashbacks will help her solve the problem that they are facing whilst they go on their last adventure!
The episode is called The Noble Return.
If you want to make things seriously wibblyy wobbly, have Donna’s children shake the hand of the Doctor. The Doctor will be shocked as their hand lights up with regeneration energy. To briefly explain, you cannot have a human timelord but you can have a timelord human. What's even more crazy about this is that the handshake is a nod to his severed hand. Also Donna wanted to be the Doctor Donna but now that she has a family and responsibility, she doesn't want to do more than one adventure, but her children are timelord and as such she’s indirectly made things much more complicated.
You could also make a whole thing about Gallifrey searching for these children and this is The Doctor standing against them again.
Or she becomes a 100% timelord! She is awesome as doctordonna
@@beastinblack4055 that would go against everything so far, if ur gonna make a story at least make it good, and dont make it happy ever after all the time, the reason they took it away was because it was perfect and taking it away would make the fans crave more

...I see what you’ve done there Mr Moffat
what i hate about doctor who and other tv shows is that the villains always take their time when killing. "lets shout exterminate but not shoot until they foil our plans!"
Exactly!
Kill the Person first, THEN deal with the other people.
Well, in this case, Davros was egotistical and wanted The Doctor to witness the end of the universe and Davros' final victory. It wasn't enough for him just killing everyone off and destroying the universe.
But otherwise they wouldn't be proper evil villains.
But Davros did shoot Donna, which precipitated his failure. That is why villains can't shoot first; it turns heroes into superheroes. ;-)
Muhaha so true Super Donna!!
2020: **comes**
Everything: "Oh, the end of the universe has come"
if the writer had found a way to make doctordonna possible for the long run it would’ve been such a cannon making her THE BEST companion there ever was
1:04 I'd like to believe that, over a thousand years later, The Doctor remembered Donna doing this and that's how she overrode the Dalek's blaster in Resolution.
How ironic the Silence appear right after Jack implies a naughty thought
"I can't tell you what i'm thinking right now."
I mean honestly I can't.- Too busy laughing
10 mins later - Right calmed. Love this scene - especially the spinning Daleks and Jack's "Out of the way" - totally takes away your fear for daleks
I had to bring this up when I met John Barrowman last year. :)
Gawd I miss these two. I die every time the Dalek spins and cries "Help me!". A much needed laugh considering the events to come.
And now she is coming back with David Tenant for 3 specials staring this Nov.
Kathrine Tate will always to me be the best companion! I cannot believe that people label her character so underrated she changed so much. To me she was the best example of how the Doctor changes the lives of people because when she first started out she was only interested in being rich, name brand labels, and manipulating people to get what she wanted, and ended up being one the best people who cared so much for others after her experiences with the Doctor that she saved lives. It was a complete character transformation in the end and I love it!
Donna Noble was one of the best companions for The Doctor.
She really kept him grounded and instilled a bit more humility in him.
Damn, it's been years since I watched Doctor Who. This 4-minute clip really made me remember why I loved that show so much. Might have to start watching it again.
They are back! So excited for next year!
I just watched this episode (along with The Stolen Earth of course), and I have to say that it got the absolute biggest emotional reaction from me at the end. I've actually been doing a video series called "Discovering Doctor Who" where I do reviews of the episodes that I watch as I make my way through the New Who (starting with the 9th of course!), and the 2-part "The Stolen Earth" & "Journey's End" made for my most requested and very first reaction video on my channel.
I don't think I can ever forgive you all for what happened to DoctorDonna...
And this right here is why Donna was the best, series 4 was the best. When Doctor who was at its best, love every season don't get me wrong but it will never be the same when David was the doctor and Donna was travelling with him. God I miss these days! Love this show so much, so close to home. Will always be a fan.
I seriously loved how the music fit the situation and hype very well.
This is my favorite Dues Ex Machina ever for how fun it is.
2:40 Gotta hand it to Davros. No matter how you felt about the guy, I always found it Ballsy of him to try and stop them himself, regardless if he stood a ghost of a chance physically or offensively. It's like seeing a guy in a wheelchair putting up a final stand.
Series 4 was the best series
Donna trolling the daleks like that was and forever will be one of the best scenes of doctor who.
Anyone agree?
Loved that last line, "I can't tell you what I'm thinking right now."
Perfect ending. Now I feel compelled to subscribe.
3:47 Donna: “and I got the best bit of the Doctor”
10: *raises eyebrows*

3:12 - You could tell TL Doctor knew what was going to happen. The human Doctor was just enjoying it, same as Donna (the joys of being human, we can’t bare to think ahead, both out of ignorance or necessity).
He knew from the very moment the meta-crisis happened that he was going to lose Donna, and eventually so did she.
The saddest ending to Doctor Who I’ve ever seen, even beating 10’s regeneration and Rose “dying”.
Doctor Donna.. the REAL first female doctor. Jodie Whittaker could never amount to what Donna could do.

one of my favorite things about their dynamic is their strange dichotomy of being just a little too codependent while also being probably the most individual team in the entire show. they’re two very independent and equal characters, yet at the same time donna would rather die than lose the Doctor and when donna’s memory is wiped the Doctor actually goes insane. it’s fascinating
Donna is the hybrid
I thought that as well when watching this after Hell Bent!
"I can't tell you what I'm thinking right now." Jack, I'm sure we already know.

Why would they have those press-paddle controls that Donna was using on a Dalek ship? Daleks don't have fingers.
Maybe it was for Davros' convenience, or maybe the Dalek ships are based on Kaled ships.

DalekTheSupreme No, the mother of all cop outs was Last Of The Time Lords (*Vomits*)
Catherine is marvellous. I’m so glad Donna’s back!
This episode was great, and sad... bittersweet. Just fantastic writing and acting.
#BringBackDoctorDonna!
The bit where Donna says both the Doctors are just Time Lords, that's not actually true because the Duplicate Doctor is technically part human, isn't he? He says that at the end of this episode... so that part doesn't make sense. :/
But still, this is quite possibly my favourite Doctor Who finales EVER. :D
Rose will have fun with a doctor who speaks sometimes like Donna...
The Doctor Well isn't that wizard? Ginger Timelord/human babies?
No it makes sense. Just remember what Donna said when she was explaining how it happened. She stated that in the meta crisis she herself absorbed all the time energy that was contained in the hand. That is what gave her the consciousness of a Time Lord. The process of cloning a version of the Doctor had already begun through the hand so what was produced out of that, what was left over, was a fully human version of the Doctor. His clone is not Time Lord at all. He is completely human but only in a physical sense. He is mortal and can die like any human but beyond that he thinks just like the Doctor did so he still lacks that human instinct that is ingrained in us from living on earth.
Michael Rudie Ah ok then. XD
I just feel like timelord energy automatically gives you awesome charisma
I love how they included the bit with jack saying “I can’t tell you what I’m thinking about Rn”
