absolutely love the pawn shop, no stupid tele 3 way switch, no stupid tone control, perfect for me!
I love your demos, especially seeing as though you have new videos regulary which is AWESOME
I very much appreciate you guys taking the time to show us cool stuff. If ever I'm in the UK, I'll buy your stuff. You guys rock.
those 2 amps are probably the best sounding combination i've ever heard!
freakin' awesome!!!
An old review that I hadn`t seen before ...... and a really good one. Some gorgeous tones in the jam as well.
Wow what a great tone !
And great playing from both and a superb backing track WOW !
The Cap'n has got a really great touch there, very nice! I firmly believe these are the best sounding demo's on the web at the moment, the bar has been raised!
So I was in my local music store last week. Picked up the Pawnshop 72, played it and was very much digging it. Went in today, played it fell in love. It's now in the back room awaiting my purchase in a few weeks. First guitar I've ever played off the rack that i wouldn't change a thing on. Tone, playability, stays in tune, you can bend the crap out of the stings and not fret out. I've played the same guitar for 18 years. This will be my number one guitar. If you haven't played 1 check it out.
@HarryAndAGuitar Thank you Harry, I am humbled that you watch my videos. Hope your brother had a good time today with Kate, say hi from Chappers ;-)
Tonal quality is AMAZING, nicely done, I'm feeling the 72.
This is a mean sounding axe!! I have been lamenting over which 4th guitar I should buy. This demo has solidified my decision!
The Pawn Shop 72 is most definitely an amazing instrument. This video sealed the deal for me, and I picked one up used. Hands down, the best playing guitar I've ever owned or played-- I've had multiple American Std. Fenders, played many more, as well as high-dollar Les Pauls, and none of them felt as nice as my Pawn Shop.
Soundwise-- well, you can hear it here.
The fit and finish are amazing, tho there were a couple of minor problems-- one slightly high spot on an upper fret, a slightly tight nut slot on the B string. Other than that, nothing. It feels like a much pricier instrument. Japanese for me, please! :)
I bought one that is exactly like the one he is playing . It is incredible that they starred out at 600 dollars, and now I have seen the price doubled. It's a great guitar for me because I love the feel of the strat body, but I had a tele for years and loved the feel of the neck best of both worlds . Simple but elegant.
Best upload yet! Excellent & thank you :)
Capt. , Rob...I guess I enjoyed this video the most of all...amazing guitar, amazing jam and love your humor :) and the jack...wishing well
(gimme that ´72!)
i heard me some wasting light!
great taste over there. also what a dream sound with that A/B box and those amps!
Nice demo guys. You have a great sense of humor. I wish you were located in the U.S. so I could come in and have some Jack Daniels with ya. Also, a HUGE thanks for demo'ing the guitar with some clean sound so we can actually hear what the thing sounds like! Truly.
Cheers from the very mixed up United States.
You boys are bloody insane, I LOVE it!
Love the "Black Bird", nice demo!
Sounds freaking awesome!!
Awesome jam, guys! Cptn had a nice melody there half way to the end. great, great, great! Rob, pls do make some more jams like that, I'm learning a lot from you fellows! Cheers! :)
These guys are insane... I like them!
I think the blender knob is one of the coolest features ivenever seen on a guitar!!! Lol if I ever am so lucky to have a signature strat it will undoubtedly have that as a feature hahaha
You guys crack me up. I'm Can eh dian but all is good. Love the 72 Pawn Shop!
I just bought this guitar (in the Surf Green colour) on Saturday.
Outstanding guitar.
Quite possibly one of the greatest guitar demos of all time. And so much of it was accidental or impromptu. #TRULY #EPIC
@Pmichteinz Thanks dude Lee and I will attempt something soon ;-)
The recurring Chappers riff starting at 10:13 is awesome, clean and dirty. I want to learn that.
Good job with jam. Well done!
I really like hearing Chappers and the capt play together, they really complement each other, with Chappers having a shreddy sorta play style while the capt is really tasteful with his playing. these guys should record their jams and put them on toast.
This guitar is freaking awesome!
dude you guys should totally start a band i meen your different styles of playing is a sweet mix!
the blend knob is brilliant though, and a great sounding guitar it is.
Actually, you can mix the pups with a swith, in a Les Paul. You just have to add or remove the ammount of each pup you want just by using each pup's volume knob.
Jesus that tone is great
This setup should be called 'Cross-Pond Carnage'!
A British guitarist playing an 'American' guitar ( I know it's MIJ, but still!), through British and American amps.
Rock. \m/
i own this and its a joy to play everytime
i cant always count on chappers and the capt to brighten my day.
Best guitar ive ever heard! So fucking airy and lush. This is the french horn of guitars; it sounds as if someone is playing a guitar in the distance yet your right in front of the camera! Its tone is also epic. And I think its sexy, "chocolatey and robust. "- Greg Koch
You know what would be awesome. Chappers and Cap'n Lee each had the same rigs and did some twin lead work.
How much better it is when you deliver some clean playing - it's often difficult to judge your reviews when there is an almost complete bias to rawk shreds
Sick guitars ... Filthy jam ... Great humour ...tonelicious
Those amps really do sound great together.
Alter Bridge !!! :D wow chappers well done mate :D
the jam of this (on soundcloud) sounds amazing, i dont play guitar but this is one of the nicest sounding guitars iv heard for a while
Mine arrived today. It's an awesome piece of instrument! Love it already! I'm not missing the tone knob and kinda like how it handles and sounds different compared to my std. tele.
If Steve Jobs had ever made a guitar, it would definitely have had the blend knob.
I get a U2 discoteque vibe from around 14:00
That amp setup sounds ace!!
I think you may have inspired me to re-wire my old Washburn with a blend knob... some of the sounds you're getting are absolutely killer!
I would buy the Fender, but I'm lacking the money to do so... :/
Either way, excellent video guys!
Loving that amp setup, too!
And an excellent jam at the end, what I'd give to be able to jam with you guys, it would be freakin' amazing!
amazing tone!
I am also impressed with the sound of those two amps combined. lol call it, "The Troller."
@myjizzureye Hand on heart, if we don't like a product - I refuse to review it and Lee refuses to stock it... Their absence from my videos speaks for itself ;-)
Jack Daniels on the Blackstar amp. Cheers. These guys are amazing! And the guitar sounds sweeeet!
@TheMetalHeaD256 yeah the strat is his newest release but he uses both interchangeably. I just had a look too and they're both still there
Because you 've got this ...blend "Knob"....looks al Lee...lol
The comedy factor that you blokes bring to your vids is awesome
Loved it all.
awesome jam!
can't help but headbang with the intro music
@MultiPowerage I LOOOOOVE the look of the surf green 72 pawn shop. Not ugly IMO.
@guitarguy2691 at one point, it might still be happening now, both schecters and ltd's were made in the same factory
how come you guys haven't done a Pawn shop 51' demo? the 51' is awesome!!!
i like the way you closed your mouth in unison with closeing the tone pot slowly.
master of the strings (rob chap) teach me some of that mojo juice blues .
oh, can you review your own genius for us ? we are entreaged.
@RobChappers youve reviewed one jackson and you loved it chapps!!! you should do some more
@supergerble i actually think they've taken the Tele out. I looked on Fender's site and he uses a Strat body now. essentially the same, though.
These guys should get royalties from all the stores that they help sell these guitars. I'm really keen on a Surf Green Pawn Shop 72... but I'm in Australia, and it's impossible to find anything here.
You blokes are great! (Am I using that correctly? Blokes? Always wanted to say that.) Outstanding demo and jam! Greetings and many thanks from "across the pond".
You guys really should record a song or two. Ur amazing.
@Schecter311 I have reviewed plenty of LTD's ;-)
Hi guys, now thats how a review should look like, love your creations every time :) Maby you have something form Steinberger range? Would be awesome and something different :)
0:41 LOVE IT ^^
I'm from Canadia, Gretzky is my God. And his wife is smokin'!
@mean0machine0 I'm sure it would be a simple mod for a tech to do mate ;-)
blackbird sounds fantastic on the 72
BLINK FAN. ILY
Nice Riview... Just bought a the 72 model, thanks !!!
That is a sweet looking Guitar.
The Stone Henge Package
!!!!
Oh yeah you should also BBCA and Dr Who America with a Mini Tardis on the Monkey Lord Amp set up!!
amazing blues jam, i still think Lee is a slightly better blues player but Rob had an amazing tone and still played brilliantly. nice job!
Well played captain
Ideal guitar for people how like a fatter sound but doesn't like the thick neck of a gibson.
..yeah you can... set the neck volume at 8 at the bridge volume at 2.... you get all the blend options with the middle position of a les paul or sg
Great stuff! I couldnt help but grab my guitar and play along to that end jam ;-)
So it's basically a Squier '51 with an f-hole humbucker in the neck? Looks nice.
@mozzadagozza
i just put on subtitles as well :L i don't remember them saying " further because there is a good idea for a elegantly vivid edged silly controlling charlie" (about 3:10)
This is my Dream setup.
gratz chappers - 650 vids!!! :)
That is a killer riff Lee plays when he picks up the guitar, is it something Lee wrote or is it a song?
SICK soundin axe! (Sure dont hurt to have brother chappers technique either)
You both should make a record together with all these bluesy stuff. It could be called NAKED BONES.
I'm liking the Jack
What a naughty demo.
I enjoyed capt'n's playing a lot, great video and jams, I like the Fender much more than the Blackstar I like the open mid range. -PK
I can't believe I've missed out on this channel all theese years. You're a great inspiration. Thanks! Btw. Is that a Digitech DL-8 delay pedal?
I recommend that if anyone wishes to hear the pinnacle of using the tone control to achieve a Wah effect that they should listen to a song called 'Five String Blues' by the late , great Roy Buchanan !
United States of Canadia. I'll get you for this, Capt'n !
3:17 i hope that was the leather chair! if not....sounded like someone let one slip hahaha
Does the guitar come with a bottle of Jack?
:) Nice job on the Black Bird cover.
These are like the only Fenders I like.
@RobChappers OMG I LOVE YOU CHAPPERS!
Will you be demoing the Les Pauls at the backround?
Btw great jam my Lord.
Random Monkey Lord Minion.
wow, those amps sound great, but in real time they must sound even better than in the video.
I cant wait to try them out myself. \m/
im thinking about buying one of these and slapping a dimarzio d activator in the bridge.. i want a really versatile guitar guitar that is good for jazz and cleans yet at the same time can play high gain metal.. i feel like with a dimarzio d activator in the bridge this guitar would be perfect for that..
Call the setup "DOUBLE TAP!"
And you gotta tell me the song that you use for the ad for the MonkeyFest, those pinch squeals are telling my soul to headbang to that song day 'n' nite \m/
