Do it! Have owned two 07s and my 09 that I’ve owned for almost 2 years. Amazing motorcycle. I love the 07 platform a lot, amazing little bike. The 09 is definitely a little more of a serious ride, kind of like a scalpel on the street.
Mine has been clapped out for the track with tune, suspension, brembo master cylinder, steel braided brake lines, new bars, rear sets etc. Amazing machines no doubt. You won’t lose the the bottom end grunt of the 07, the 09 pulls like a damn freight train.
Sounds like yours is modded to the max! I can't wait to go and test ride one!

I have a brand new one fully stock and I will say it’s got the low end grunt and power while delivering a mind melting pull at higher rpm’s you basically can’t turn the throttle all the way in 1st gear no matter what power mode you are in though otherwise the front wheel like to come off the ground

If you do end up buying a 09 you’ll miss the gruntyness you get with the 07 my buddy’s just got a 09 I got the 07 and would 100% stick with the 07

@@mrbrapz if you can find one near you, the SP is definitely worth it for the small price difference. $1500 more for incredible suspension.
They’re just so hard to find in the states, some people wait awhile before finding one nearby.

@@MRomano1984 I feel like it depends on the beginner. For somebody super disciplined it can be a great beginner bike. Mode 4 feels really slow and controlled. The computer is amazing, definitely will save you if you make a number of beginner mistakes.
But if you are a beginner without discipline and self control, it’s easy to put it in mode 1 and go ham.
It’s STUPID powerful, so if you rip the throttle you can go from 40-100mph in no time at all.
You need to be proficient at braking. It’s very very easy to be going way too fast for the situation on this bike. It inspires tons of confidence and I could definitely see a newer rider getting one and thinking they are Superman.
I got the 22SP and having this as your only bike sucks so much as much as I love this bike soo much I could never ride it every single day the seat is too hard so much effort filtering through traffic weirdos talking to you every day can’t leave it on the street worrying it’s going to get stolen or damaged lol I ride my 125cc scooter everyday and and this is just a fun bike for good weather and weekends and plus every time I get on this I risk loosing my licence
Get the MT09 I just got rid of my 2008 R1 and buying a 2024 MT09 CANT FLIPPIN WAIT LOL
