It’s a great bike for sure. Probably my favourite bike of this year. The power is right up there, the handling is great and the price is very competitive. My only alternative in the higher middleweight class would be the Duke 890R which is also a great handling fun bike. The Yamaha reliability and build quality wins it for me.

Haven’t had any service issues and Yamaha performed the re flash of ICU and oxygen sensor at no charge. The re flash solved a minor low speed potential to stall and also seems to have smoothed out idle. I think it also smoothed out throttle response at low speed and mid range. Been riding since 1956 all brands and types from 161 cc to 1800 plus cc. I generally have several bikes at a time and ride dirt and super slab with some track time once in a while. So I feel confident when I say this bike will put a smile on your face and leave some money in your wallet.
I brought one last month. In blue..as u can see in my pic..absolutely fantastic 👏🏻 machine. beast of a bike. very fast. S22 tyres are the best. so much grip. The handling is quality. chuck it in and out of corners. Stick all the modes off etc. Mode1 is a beast. love this bike. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have the icon blue mt09 and it's one of the best rides for all around everywhere everyday riding. Yes the front is not everyone's cuppa but it works as it should, overall its a very good motorcycle for your money when you compare like for like against other brands.
After watching your video, the MT 09 is now my first choice! Was really impressed how well it handled all road situations and the ease it did so. I'm 5' 8" with a 30" in seam, so I think the bike will fit me very well. Also, was very impressed how the quick shifter worked seamlessly. Engine was so versatile too. Amazing how you were able to control the bike at very slow speeds in town without the bike jerking.
I own a 2016 MT09 Sport Tracker currently, it's basically a 2014 model though. My bike has ABS and that's it, plus the original MT09's choppy fuelling. I simply drag the rear brake to get smooth low speed stuff done. Works a treat and keeps the chain taut. I have a 2022 MT10 on order with all the latest electronic trickery that honestly I have zero experience of. Looking forward to riding a bike with some help, I'm 50 next birthday and these modern, powerful bikes need a firm hand. I'm not getting any younger. I need something better for distance riding as my family and I are separated by numerous motorways and hundreds of miles. As much as I love my Spacker with it's ludicrous Akrapovic race exhaust system, it's not really a distance bike. I can't imagine 3 hours on the motorway on it, its way too loud also.
Great review. The 2018 MT09 was in my top three the last time I bought a new bike, but that version had a number of irritating characteristics that I just couldn't get past. All of these issues had been corrected with the new bike. And the fact that it's exhaust note takes me straight back to a '78 XS750 I bought new is icing on the cake. The only complaint I have about the new MT 09 is its industrial looking exhaust system, which looks to have been corrected with the aftermarket exhaust on the bike you are riding. Now, this is a bike that pushes all of my buttons.
Great vid mark. I'm currently on a cb500f and was curious to know if this would be too bigger jump up in power. You're the only tuber that has even broached the subject 👍. Any additional thoughts would be well received, cheers for the quality content
Hi David no not at all ....you've already gained your riding skills on the cb500 and the mt09 isn't that much physically bigger the throttle works both ways so as long as you are sensible with it and build up you'll be absolutely fine ....you'll find the mt 09 power totally addictive after the modest cb500 Cheers mark
Nice review Mark. These are a great fun bike for a great price but personally I don't like the transformer styling. Hopefully Yamaha will produce a new XSR 900 next year with more traditional styling. Also looking forward to a rumoured new Ducati V2 Streetfighter.
I got the SP after your SP video :) LOVE it. Managed to do the first 1000 km and the service, but the weathers have got pretty bad here in Finland so I put her away for winter storage on Friday. Can't wait for the next spring to really get to know her.
Very good review, the ergonomics looks good, they make the gas tank short and wide , you are seating more closer to handlebar, much more comfortable seating position, you arms are not straight! You are the second person that mentioned the buzz, good point. Yamaha should cover all those open spaces under the frame, too many cables going through there, Suzuki is very good at hiding the cables and covering all those open spaces, compare with a GSX S 750 and you will see . Thanks
I love that triple engine. My old speed triple is similar horsepower but not as responsive as this and of course it has no quick shifter. I would consider this or maybe to save a few quid a Triumph Trident which I admit is not in the same league.
That’s a nice bike thinking of getting it sounds very nice I love the look of it I’ve got an mt but now I’ve got my full license Be a good upgrade Looks like it will be fun on the twisters country roads Great video, Mark
Superb review Mark as always. Boy that quick shifter is slick! I absolutely love this bike and I’m definitely getting either the MT09, SP version or XSR900 as a garage mate for my Interceptor. I prefer the look of the XSR but the boxy seat really puts me off and so it will probably be the MT09 or MT09SP👍
Super review Mark, currently looking at one of these as a change option for this year, will need some options if I do it (tall screen, rad guard, handguards, rear rack etc) to make it a bit more practical. Really like your real world ride experience approach to the review with nil BS.
"Love or hate headlight".... Yes, you are not kidding. It has a face only a Mother could love. Surprised it is so expensive given that they have not even bothered to put side panels on it 😁
Nice video, Mark. I thought once again that this bike really suits you down to the ground. The blue MT07 less so, but the grey MT09 wahey! I have the grey MT07 on order and can't wait tbh. Did you EVER ride something you didn't like and advised against?
Hi Stephen good choice with the mt07 ....no I enjoy all the bikes from 125 to 1400 cc .. cheap Chinese to expensive BMW's...they all have their merits ....but never really ridden a bad machine....maybe years ago ..but these days they spend $$$$$ on r and d ...you do get the odd recall etc ...but generally modern bikes are good 👍 Best wishes mark
Thanks Mark. I enjoyed your review. Great bike for sure. As many have noted, it is likely the best value in it's range. I'm not a fan of the Akropovich exhaust. It's too high pitched and whiney for my taste. The stock works fine and is loud enough. I also agree that the sp is worth the extra, for what you get. Gord
@@markpulling12 Roger that... I've noticed this phenomena in performance cars as well. People feel like they have to change out the exhaust, even when it's actually more flexible all round (touring/track) from the factory. But just increasing the sound when most of the time you ears are saying, "Less noise please!"... doesn't make much sense. Gord
I agree, I love a nice engine sound at low speeds, but the noise from that Akrapovič exhaust is annoying at high speeds, and they're well overpriced. Save your money, and stick with the stock one. Manufacturers spend a lot on R&D when developing their exhausts. I've got a Tenere 700 and the stock exhaust sounds wonderful.
I've got a Tenere 700 at the moment, but will ordering the MY2022 SP version when they come in. Those indicators aren't LEDs by the way, they just look like them.
Only just found this channel and love the straight forwards no nonsense review. A quick question would be would you go for the MT-09 or spend a little more and go for the SP ?
Hi Mark( first class) review my freind well detailed in the aspects of the motorcycles abilities. I'm riding a lovely 2019 sv650 at present but seriously considering the mt09 Regards Pompey Tex.
Good review👍 just found your channel and been enjoying your thorough to the point laid-back approach. If you have time any thoughts comparing this new mt09 to the previous model? If not that’s okay. Looking forward for the next review. Thank you
Hi thanks 😊....this model has more power and torque than the previous model it absolutely Rips ...but it has the love or hate headlight ...lots of tweaks throughout the bike ... definitely an improvement Regards mark
Great review thanks. I tested a 2017 MT-07 and would describe it as a bike from the future. Certainly compared to my jerky, searchy, snatchy SV650a. Buzzy, but not in the way a 4 cylinder is.
As always, great videos and content! Just picked up a 2021 MT-07. I had a 2020 Z900 and liked it a lot, but really felt like the MT-07 was more fun in terms of the engine and powerband for the kind of daily riding I do. I've had all kinds of bikes from 600cc to 1000cc sport bikes to standards and even a cruiser, but I find the MT-07 to be the most fun to ride on a daily basis. Some day I may add the MT-09 to the stable. Compared to the MT-07 what did you like most about the MT-09? I know it is obviously more powerful, but in what other areas did it excel and in what areas did the MT-07 excel in your opinion?
Hi the brakes and suspension felt better on the mt09 but not by a huge amount and it's more relaxed at higher speed due to it's bigger engine but you're right just for day to day fun and value the mt07 is unbeatable Cheers mark
Excellent review Mark , I rode the Sp from crescent probably the same day you did 6 months ago ! and it was awesome but no stock till august so decided to wait till next year . This standard model is very tempting but loved the SP paint job, ohlins and the cruise control ..I just think the extra £1200 is money well spent plus it would hold its value better .
Interesting review. Just popping out. I'll post more later, Mark. If Yamaha had a dealer in Chiang Rai, I may be tempted by one of these, but the nearest one is in Chiang Mai, 120 miles away. I think the looks are a big improvement. The headlight is different, the frame looks neat and allows more of the engine to be seen. I love bikes that can pull smoothly from a high gear at a low speed. Triples are as tractable as inline fours but also have more low-down shove. You have ridden the CB1000R and GSX-S1000, Mark. Does the MT have more low-down shove? The usual excellent review.
Hi nik....not more but about the same ...pretty impressive when you consider its 890 cc vs 1000 but i guess its lighter weight helps all in all an awesome engine in a frisky fun chassis ! cheers mark
great review mark , i`ve just traded in my MT10 for the new 09 standard , the MT10 is an outstanding bike , but i commute 6 days a week and the 10 was brilliant but expensive , i`ve only done 60 miles and already i can tell the new 09 will be a great commuter , for me the 09 will get the exhaust and a map when the dyno peoples get the ecu cracked
Hi Russell no probs for me with snatchy throttle in all riding modes ...I'm sure some reviews say that but as long as you roll on gently I never find it a problem on any bikes ...it's mainly some bikes can surge / hunt a bit at low revs and partial throttle due to lean running due to emissions Best wishes mark
Not keen on the colour although the wheels help to brighten it up. Sounds nice but I have found that noisy exhausts can become a bit wearing on longer journeys. Good price for what you get. Nice review as always Mark.
The exhaust is too loud ! When I bought my FZ1 Fazer the bike came with a pipe like that one and in one week I took it off. Put the standard exhaust back on and it was miles better.
Mr Clark I got to noticing on mine the frame is already set up at the steering head for an R1 style fairing stay and higher peg brackets , so I'd say as soon as Yamaha part supply problems are over with we will see it.
Really can’t decide on this or a R7 next. Got two years to wait though. Currently on a 2020 Ninja 650 which I love but fancy something quicker next. But still good for commuting.
Looks fantastic. Love the front light. Sounds loud enough without being obnoxious. Nice review. As you've reviewed near whole range of yamaha cp engined bikes, im looking forward to your review on the new r7
Your reviews are always fabulous. This was another excellent one. Everything I wanted to lnow - apart from if it's still speed limited to 130mph (like the previous ones). I don't think I could live with the noise of that exhaust. Too noisy and insistent for me. Oh, and please change your opening credits, they belie the quality of what's to come.
Believe it or not, on the bike you hear the intake note more, not raspy at all. I'm more of a vtwin /v4 sound hound but I gotta admit this triple has a really neat howl to it.
Mark, Interesting bike. Sounds gorgeous. Addictive. Only experience of them and Yamahas is from your reviews. I reckon you might give the MT09-SP bike of the year. Who do you think does triple engines better Triumph or Yamaha? And of these the MT-09, Street or Speed Triples or are they all so good now and it's just down to a question of preference and what works for you? Also how does the MT-09 compare to the KTM 890 Duke if you have ridden one of these? Sorry cannot remember if you have. And I know the MT-09 and MT-10 have different engines and the MT-10 is more of a monster litre bike in comparison but does an MT-09-SP just make an MT-10-SP rather redundant in that it costs less, better vfm, lots of character and more than fast enough for the road? You did say at the very start of review that you thought the MT-09 was a serious contender for the litre bike super nakeds and a lot cheaper. So many good bikes out at the moment. The choice is bewildering. I am hoping you can get your hands on something totally different a Triumph Speedmaster to ride. Although I am not into cruisers this bike just grabs me, would really appreciate your thoughts on it. Btw I think that full Akrapovic system on the MT-09 you are riding costs about £2,500 so the bike would not cost £9k! ATB Mark. Many thanks.
Hi Alex ...I'd say the Yamaha triples are just that bit nicer than the triumphs...as in more power and exciting ...1200 RS excluded ...yes I'd say the mt09 Is better value than the 1000 supernakeds ... crescent like to throw some nice extras onto their bikes Cheers mark
Hi Mark, Do you think this will be a suitable option for a mature rider with some experience in the saddle(about 12 months of experience)? Unfortunately, due to a knee surgery I haven’t been riding since 2019. I’m torn between this,CBR650R, the Trident and also MT07. I’ll use it for commuting, light touring maybe and some track days. I’ve been watching your videos for a while now, great job, keep it going. Thank you in advance for your help. Cheers, Madalin
Hi madalin yes this is great choice it's engine is utterly fantastic ....as a new ish rider you might find the mt07 to be smaller and easier to handle ,plus alot cheaper but it's still terrier like fun :) Try and sit on them if you can there is quite alot of difference between the 7 and 9 Good luck regards mark
Seeing I've just watched your SP review for a second time, I thought I'd watch this again. Especially seeing I think the SP isn't available in Thailand. I said last year that the nearest dealer is in Chiang Mai, 120 miles away. I've decided that that is no problem. It isn't going to need warranty work. I wouldn't put an aftermarket exhaust system on it. I don't like the sound of this one. I'd have guessed at 3.2 seconds for 0-60. Very impressed with its town manners. This is very important. You have a 390 Duke now. Would you say the riding position - bars and foot pegs - are similar to this bike?
How did you find the suspension Mark?, I am about the same weight as yourself and have the same model in Icon blue though, I had to adjust rear preload on mine to the lowest to get rear sag
I got some small fueling issue, when being on 2nd gear at let's say 15/20mph and giving a little bit of throttle just to keep the speed, the bike is giving me some shaking. Looks like yours didn't have any issue. Do you know if it's fixable? Thanks!
Hi is the bike new ? Could just be the on/off throttle response ..where you might just get a little bit of snatch ... maybe check the chain adjustment .. Do you have the standard exhaust ? Get the dealer to have a quick check during it's service if it's new Best regards mark
No ....I'd like too would be a good extra for the review but I only get the bikes for a couple of hours generally so it doesn't really happen Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Thank you, could I ask if you would only consider the SP. I've not ridden one (have had a test on the standard MT but not the SP). Is it much better than the standard?
@@stevebrown2646 hi Steve not massively it still goes just as well but I really like cruise control that the sp has ...but I know that not everyone is bothered with cruise Cheers mark
I believe you have now ridden the SP and Standard Model. l think there are two others using the same engine being the Tracer and XSR. If you had to buy one out of all those 4 ''variants' which one and which Spec? Pesonally if the MT10 had a Tracer GT version that would be it for me. However, among the lot, l have experienced the original XSR and Tracer models. Somehow l enjoyed the XSR more. However, for what l want to do the Tracer would be the best in my view. However, cant go wrong with any of them l think.
@@markpulling12 Excellent Choice. l am looking forward to the videos. By the way, there is this talk in Europe and the UK, that come 2030 or so no more conventional cars. Will this happen to motorbikes? l think l saw somewhere that because of Euro 5. Honda will not release the CB 1100 in Europe but it will be available in other markets? What is your take on this. l have no time for electric bikes, the cost and range issues are not worth it and the charging times. l had an electric scooter once and that was once too many times.
Best middle weight bike out there for the price , but if you’re willing to spend slightly more , then the KTM 890 Duke wins hands down IMO solely on the base it’s so much more enjoyable to ride. Just be prepared in having to drop further coin in unlocking the quick shifter and track modes. Great review 👍
Thanks shane heard nothing but amazing things about the 790/890 dukes other than sometimes the have teething problems but they are generally reliable cheers mark
Mark, did this bike need dyno work for the Akra ? Without a cat, surely it wouldn't be fuelled at its optimal level, unless of course Akrapovich have made the pipe with a baffle and flow that's perfectly attuned to a standard setup, with no free flow air filter .Frankly, I'm not keen on crazily priced exhaust systems. I'd sooner chop the OE cat, get a link pipe, buy a slip on and get the bike's ECU reflashed or have it dynoed along with a PowerCommander, air filter and a prayer for it not to explode, warranty issues perhaps foolishly ignored !
Hi Michael I did ask them that exact question and no it hadn't had any Dyno work...it felt perfect to me with no flat spots or stalling issues but yes agreed it would benefit from a remap ....I'll have a look on the akrapovic website later and see what they say about it Normally when you decat they run lean without a remap Cheers mark
Hi there aren't really any dual carriageway or motorways in this area .. it's just a test ride route in the country side ...the bike cruises very well :) Best regards mark
Are you sure that’s what is ?, £500 seems a little steep 🤔. AnMT10 owner I follow had his 24000 mile service and valve clearance check for £800. Just had my VFR 1200X 16000 mile service at a cost of £190, so that figure of £500 seems ridiculous 🤷🏻♂️
The MT09 is nice, but the handling was too edgy for me. It may look like an old school naked, but it feels like it's got a short wheelbase and steep rake. These make it a lot of fun, but quite unstable. It's a strange combination of comfortable, upright position but a chassis that wants to tip in more than a sports bike. The engine is also a lot of fun, it's hard to keep the front wheel on the ground. The low down grunt overwhelms the chassis so it feels quick, but look at the speedo and you aren't actually going very fast. Lots of fun, but I'd prefer smoother power with more stability, so decided the MT09 isn't for me. Also, you need the SP to get cruise control - madness.
Hmmm tough choice .. I know the Yamaha is the better choice for reliability etc ....but if you only have £4k the KTM is just if not more fun :) Can I have both lol
I like to ride all day or at least 3-4 hours in the saddle....I owned the 2018 model and yes it was fun , but after 30 mins in the seat i had had enough and that was with the comfort seat....I dont get that issue on the KTM 890
It’s a great bike for sure. Probably my favourite bike of this year. The power is right up there, the handling is great and the price is very competitive. My only alternative in the higher middleweight class would be the Duke 890R which is also a great handling fun bike. The Yamaha reliability and build quality wins it for me.

@@soulrebelno1 I totally agree as well...
Hi I'd spend the bit more and get the sp ...I like cruise control :)
Best wishes mark
Hi Mark( first class) review my freind well detailed in the aspects of the motorcycles abilities.
I'm riding a lovely 2019 sv650 at present but seriously considering the mt09 Regards Pompey Tex.
Many thanks yes the mt09 is an awesome bike cheers mark
Good review👍 just found your channel and been enjoying your thorough to the point laid-back approach. If you have time any thoughts comparing this new mt09 to the previous model? If not that’s okay. Looking forward for the next review. Thank you
Hi thanks 😊....this model has more power and torque than the previous model it absolutely Rips ...but it has the love or hate headlight ...lots of tweaks throughout the bike ... definitely an improvement
Regards mark
subs are climbing mark, and so they should, top channel.
Thanks Neale
Great review thanks. I tested a 2017 MT-07 and would describe it as a bike from the future. Certainly compared to my jerky, searchy, snatchy SV650a. Buzzy, but not in the way a 4 cylinder is.
Thanks for the comment try and get a go on the mt09 if you can ...youll be impressed to say the least :)
Cheers mark
Great review mark I was waiting for your review ☺️
Hope you enjoyed it!
Hi the brakes and suspension felt better on the mt09 but not by a huge amount and it's more relaxed at higher speed due to it's bigger engine but you're right just for day to day fun and value the mt07 is unbeatable
Cheers mark
Excellent review Mark , I rode the Sp from crescent probably the same day you did 6 months ago ! and it was awesome but no stock till august so decided to wait till next year .
This standard model is very tempting but loved the SP paint job, ohlins and the cruise control ..I just think the extra £1200 is money well spent plus it would hold its value better .
Thanks David ...yes sp for me too !
Cheers mark
Wow! I had my mind set on a Himi next year but damm this bike looks a blast.
Yes it's a lot of fun 🙂
What great sound
Awesome love this bike but you can’t beat

MT09 or Tracer9 second hand. I do a lot of touring but very little motorways. Decisions.
Hi nik....not more but about the same ...pretty impressive when you consider its 890 cc vs 1000 but i guess its lighter weight helps
all in all an awesome engine in a frisky fun chassis !
cheers mark
great review mark , i`ve just traded in my MT10 for the new 09 standard , the MT10 is an outstanding bike , but i commute 6 days a week and the 10 was brilliant but expensive , i`ve only done 60 miles and already i can tell the new 09 will be a great commuter , for me the 09 will get the exhaust and a map when the dyno peoples get the ecu cracked
Yes should be amazing with the remap ...who will you use for the remap ?
@@markpulling12 i use track electronics in Norfolk for my bikes , set up on the dyno exactly as asked
@@mididash ok great thanks 😊
Do you side to work all year around. Winter. Snow. ?
Hi Mark 👋 . Did you find the Yamaha mt09 having a snatchie throttle at all ?
Thanks for the great review as usual : )
Hi Russell no probs for me with snatchy throttle in all riding modes ...I'm sure some reviews say that but as long as you roll on gently I never find it a problem on any bikes ...it's mainly some bikes can surge / hunt a bit at low revs and partial throttle due to lean running due to emissions
Best wishes mark
Very flexible engine! Other manufacturers take note👍
Great video as always 👍🏻👍🏻. Do you have any plans to review the Yamaha XSR?
Thanks Luke ...I think the xsr is not on demo at crescent anymore but I'll have a look :)
Waiting for the r9 😍
Me too :)
Another great review MP 😎
Hi ... thanks tom
I love ❤️ it you mentioned your weight
Haha just for you Stevie ☺️
These middleweights can be more fun than their bigger brothers on the roads!
Thanks Robert ....yes definitely:)
Not keen on the colour although the wheels help to brighten it up. Sounds nice but I have found that noisy exhausts can become a bit wearing on longer journeys. Good price for what you get. Nice review as always Mark.
Thanks James yes agreed the exhaust is too loud and wearing for longer journeys, but great bike :)
Lovely engine! Thanks Mark.
The exhaust is too loud ! When I bought my FZ1 Fazer the bike came with a pipe like that one and in one week I took it off. Put the standard exhaust back on and it was miles better.
Sounds nice am looking at getting eaither a MT09 or a triumph street triple rs difficult decision to make
I'm betting on an R9 being released based on the mt 09 sp, I just wish they would hurry it up lol
Yes it's alot of fun
Mr Clark I got to noticing on mine the frame is already set up at the steering head for an R1 style fairing stay and higher peg brackets , so I'd say as soon as Yamaha part supply problems are over with we will see it.
Crikey, Mark! I'm struggling to keep up with your output!! 👍
Haha thanks Hugh 😊
Really can’t decide on this or a R7 next. Got two years to wait though. Currently on a 2020 Ninja 650 which I love but fancy something quicker next. But still good for commuting.
Is definitely go for the mt09 Marc it's awesome :)
@@markpulling12 Yeah gonna book a test ride on one.
Looks fantastic. Love the front light. Sounds loud enough without being obnoxious. Nice review. As you've reviewed near whole range of yamaha cp engined bikes, im looking forward to your review on the new r7
Yes r7 due in November as is the z650rs and gsxs 1000 gt
Regards mark
how is he shifting without the clutch?
you make it sound like the perfect naked bike!! It must have some shortfalls???
Looked/sounded like you short shifted on your 0-60 test?
Your reviews are always fabulous. This was another excellent one. Everything I wanted to lnow - apart from if it's still speed limited to 130mph (like the previous ones). I don't think I could live with the noise of that exhaust. Too noisy and insistent for me. Oh, and please change your opening credits, they belie the quality of what's to come.
Believe it or not, on the bike you hear the intake note more, not raspy at all. I'm more of a vtwin /v4 sound hound but I gotta admit this triple has a really neat howl to it.
Only thing I dislike is the looks so hopefully the R9 will be this bike but pretty and with not too much of an extreme riding position.
Trust me, she’s a lot better in person! And the look really does grow on you. I now love it!
@@MoisesMendoza-ou6oq not seen one in the flesh yet.
Hi Alex ...I'd say the Yamaha triples are just that bit nicer than the triumphs...as in more power and exciting ...1200 RS excluded ...yes I'd say the mt09 Is better value than the 1000 supernakeds ... crescent like to throw some nice extras onto their bikes
Cheers mark
@@markpulling12 Interesting. Thanks for replying.
Hi Mark,
Do you think this will be a suitable option for a mature rider with some experience in the saddle(about 12 months of experience)? Unfortunately, due to a knee surgery I haven’t been riding since 2019. I’m torn between this,CBR650R, the Trident and also MT07. I’ll use it for commuting, light touring maybe and some track days.
I’ve been watching your videos for a while now, great job, keep it going.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Cheers,
Madalin
Hi madalin yes this is great choice it's engine is utterly fantastic ....as a new ish rider you might find the mt07 to be smaller and easier to handle ,plus alot cheaper but it's still terrier like fun :)
Try and sit on them if you can there is quite alot of difference between the 7 and 9
Good luck regards mark
@@markpulling12 Thank you, sir. You’re just right.
That CP3 motor deserves some accolades.
Engine of the decade?
2010-2020?
Yes Michael couldn't agree more 😊
WOW😲
Mark have you tested the new 2022 xsr900? That bike has me fascinated
Hi it's not in the UK yet but will be soon :)
Hi Nik yes similar riding position ...if anything the Yamaha is more comfortable...the pegs aren't quite as far back ... great choice 😃
@@markpulling12 I will probably keep the 390 as well.
@@user-sw2lv3zp6o yes they are so good just for whizzing about on ...went out on mine yesterday .. love it ☺️
PS - You said that you would try to review the CB650R. Please do.
Yes Clive ..that one should be in the next few weeks when I travel to crescent Southampton :)
How did you find the suspension Mark?, I am about the same weight as yourself and have the same model in Icon blue though, I had to adjust rear preload on mine to the lowest to get rear sag
Hi I found the suspension to be very compliant ...just about right for my weight ....I guess it was on the standard mid setting
Cheers mark
I feel that MT 10 is animal compare to this one :) I would test them in near future :D
Get the dealer to have a quick check during it's service if it's new
Best regards mark
@@markpulling12 thanks! Yes the bike is new, around like 400 miles on it. I have to get to the dealership soon, I will make sure they check it out.
Do you ever do a review with a passenger as well
No ....I'd like too would be a good extra for the review but I only get the bikes for a couple of hours generally so it doesn't really happen

Hi Mark which did you prefer, Z900 or MT 09?
Mt09 but the sp version... definitely gets my vote ...it feels quicker and more lively than the z900

@@markpulling12 Thank you, could I ask if you would only consider the SP. I've not ridden one (have had a test on the standard MT but not the SP). Is it much better than the standard?
@@stevebrown2646 hi Steve not massively it still goes just as well but I really like cruise control that the sp has ...but I know that not everyone is bothered with cruise

Hi easy answer tracer 9 gt ....I'm getting one in a few months !!

Z900 or Mt 09?
Hi Aaron...tough choice but the mt09 just wins for me because of its engine:)
Nothing like a 3 cylinder woooo
Best middle weight bike out there for the price , but if you’re willing to spend slightly more , then the KTM 890 Duke wins hands down IMO solely on the base it’s so much more enjoyable to ride. Just be prepared in having to drop further coin in unlocking the quick shifter and track modes. Great review 👍
Thanks shane heard nothing but amazing things about the 790/890 dukes other than sometimes the have teething problems but they are generally reliable cheers mark
It does look like a black an decker drill
Hi Michael I did ask them that exact question and no it hadn't had any Dyno work...it felt perfect to me with no flat spots or stalling issues but yes agreed it would benefit from a remap ....I'll have a look on the akrapovic website later and see what they say about it
Normally when you decat they run lean without a remap
Cheers mark
@@markpulling12
With a pro remap this bike should see anywhere between 115 - 120 whp😎🏁🏁
I wonder why recently there no more test ride on the highway since months ago. It feels like incomplete review.
Hi there aren't really any dual carriageway or motorways in this area .. it's just a test ride route in the country side ...the bike cruises very well :)

Great bike but £500 annual service cost is ridiculous
Are you sure that’s what is ?, £500 seems a little steep 🤔. AnMT10 owner I follow had his 24000 mile service and valve clearance check for £800. Just had my VFR 1200X 16000 mile service at a cost of £190, so that figure of £500 seems ridiculous 🤷🏻♂️
Street triple all day long
Definitely agree 💯👍
I've got rs765
Yes definitely You can feel it's lively short wheelbase :)
You nailed it man
Great bike in terms of spec but IMO looks awful..previous mt09 was just a beauty.
