    I've had mine for two weeks now, been through first service aswell. Mine was a demo bike with the added Akra exhaust, so I had that on for a week. But I didn't want it, because I liked the aesthetics of the standard one. And it's NOT worth it sound wise, the stock one sounds better (imo)
    I've added Daytona heated grips (dealer said it was better the the OEM one) added Rizoma Retro mirrors aswell and lastly added the short rear nr plate holder like you did.
    My favorite features is by far the cruise control, secondly the quick shift up and down. Absolutely love it, best bike I've ever had (had Honda CB650R, BMW RnineT)

    Thanks Eddie, a great real world review. Enough technical stuff but mostly the experience of riding the bike. Clearly you are a fan. I rode the previous version SP but did not get to give it a run on the twisty roads. Found it fine in tight slow traffic. Looking forward to giving the 2021 model a run when Covid restrictions allow. Clearly you have picked this over the Street Triple R. Any particular reasons? Thanks again.

    Great video, The clunking from the front should be the floating discs. It's normal.

    • @kleinbottled79
      @kleinbottled79 3 роки тому

      Came down to make sure someone was commenting on this. Either the discs, or sometimes the pads, can clunk a bit as they shift around during regular use. I've noticed it in maybe half the bikes I've spent real time on. The other half probably had brake dust and road grime packed in there preventing anything from shifting.

    Got a 23, thrashed it from day one in mode 1! There's a few pet hates. Lots of cheap flimsy plastic on it, clutch rattles on tick over once warm, no hydraulic clutch, and I need more power after a few goes! It's a good comfy machine though!

    Great video mate and the more I look at this bike the more I’m starting to like it. Cruise control truly is a game changer. My Heritage has it and never thought I’d use or need it. Boy was I wrong! Always nice to give your right hand a rest. Makes the ride more enjoyable if you’re putting down a lot of miles. I wonder if you could add the cruise option to the Standard MT-09 🧐

    They rly made a good bike a great bike with this new 2021 model. And the SP is just the cherry on top. I absolutely never even considered buying and MT09 because it just felt cheap but this new on might have changed my mind and I’m really considering this bike atm. It’s between the MT09 SP and the Honda CB1000R Black edition. $4K difference in price is hard to ignore and it come with more tech and Cruise control which is kind of a big deal in my eyes. As much as I do love the Honda styling and build quality and that 1 L engine it is lacking a bit on the modern technology like the six axis traction control and ABS along with cruise control all things the Honda is lacking that I really really want on a bike and the fact that it’s $4000 less just makes it hard to ignore this as an option.

      Ride safe bro. I wouldn’t say this bike is ideal to get back on after a long time not riding. It has a crazy mid to top range power delivery that can get away from you if your not ready for it. To begin with, start in drive 3 or 4 and work you way up when you get the feel for it.

      I give it to me to 59 Birthday😊 three weeks ago. Come from 790 Duke and the ride with the stock MT 09 was very impressive...there was a SP in the showroom an the decision takes 24 hours... Its so smooth, handled well - not so flickeable as the 790 but nearly. At the country roads and small and narrow streets it feels a little bit adult - like a mixture of the 790 and my V2 Tuono. I oppend the valves of the fork and the read shock. Only the preload is standard - i' m 1,9 m tall. The build quality is better and it is so friendly in the city or in the 30 km/h zone...I' m from Germany, near the Ruhrgebiet.
      Great vid again Eddie - aggree most of you comments about the SP and wait with near 1000km to first service in a few days!

    Hi Eddie! Great review. Love the stereo effect of the exhaust system/ intake. I am seriously considering an MT09, but for me, a major consideration is the effectiveness of the headlight, at night. I commute to work for the graveyard shift on winding country roads with little lighting that are very similar to the ones in the video. How well does the new headlight work? I gotta be able to see those wild pigs (some live, some road kill) and lost hunting dogs in the dark as best as possible. Thanks!

      It’s the same with all bikes the number plate must line up with the back tire when sold new. Not sure if it’s a Euro law, but most people fit a tail tidy.

      True. What's really a rip is if they tell you that the bike is RPM restricted until you bring it in at 600 miles and pay another $300. I say, derestrict it now, or no sale.

    What engine temp you have driving and stop & go in city?

    • @EddieSetGo
      @EddieSetGo  3 роки тому

      The engine gets warm and I'm glad to start moving again. It's not burning my legs though :)

      It's quite crisp and clear when onboard, Marty. I'll do a screen video soon as it's quite a cool set up.

    600 miles and the rear tyres are nearly finished? Wow shit

    • @EddieSetGo
      @EddieSetGo  3 роки тому

      Nah buddy, the tyres were fine! I was just wearing the tyre 'shine' near the edge limit, after only a few hundred miles. The MT09 is very easy to lean over ;)

    Any heat from the engine that burns your legs?

    • @EddieSetGo
      @EddieSetGo  3 роки тому +1

      It gets warm when sitting at the lights, but there's no burning on your legs. All good :)
