01:40 WIIC Pittsburgh The New Spirit of Pittsburgh during the Steel City News period from 1979 to 1981. In April 1981, WIIC became WPXI and Newscenter 11.
“Newspirit” was almost a TV6 campaign. In a binder we found for the 35th Anniversary (1984) they had sketched out lyrics for “The Newspirit of the QC on TV-6”
I hope y'all will reply to this I liked seeing Marv Albert Chuck Scarborough and Terry Bradshaw....that was interesting seeing what the news people at KRIS 6 in Corpus Christi Texas did on their days off Tony Dale who worked at KRIS 6 later he went up I-37 to San Antonio Texas and worked for KSAT 12 the San Antonio ABC affiliate ,.,getting back to Marv Albert even though he's now retired he was one of my Favorite sports announcers he was funny I liked it when he said Yessss!!!!!! after every good basket..did y'all know his brothers Al and Steve were also sports announcers???!!!!
From the NBC Sale Services Closed Circuit feed of their local NBC local affiliate and their own station promotions in the 1979-80 season, at 01:40 WIIC-TV Channel 11 is now WPXI from a 60 second promo in Pittsburgh, and at 07:59 is a 30 second promo from Channel 11's "Steel City News." At 15:47 is a 60 second promo for "22 alive! news" on then-NBC (now ABC) Dayton-Springfield, Ohio affiliate WKEF, and at 18:17 are promos for KVAL's "Northwest News" from the then-NBC (now CBS) Eugene, Oregon affiliate which was a a secondary CBS affiliation until 1982, when KMTR signed on the air and brought NBC to the Eugene, Oregon market.
The way WIS NBC 10 did its promo, it looks like a BIG production. The working newsroom is outside where the reporter is interviewing the public official.
The Pro 6 News Team is undefeated
Those are really creative spots and they were produced entirely in-house. And there are a lot of great cuts from the "Home Country" package.
Love this. I cannot wait to see what else you have up your sleeve. :)

Could the kid playing basketball at the end of the Marv Albert promo be his son Kenny Albert?
Danny Dark voices the WIS promo. I believe the WNBC promos are tagged by Mel Brandt.

1:29 Could you imagine the work that went into this promo? Good golly!

@@ScoopNemethIt almost looks as if it's the state capitol steps.
The next promos are from KRIS, KPNX, WTHR, WCSH, WBAL and KVAL (now affiliated with CBS)
15:53 - I recognize that song. This theme was also used in 1979 on WHBQ ABC 13 Memphis (now FOX 13). I wonder what the name of the song is.

I hope y’all will reply to this I love ❤️ Marv Albert he’s one of my favorite sports casters
I see the first three promos for WNBC, WIS and WIIC (now WPXI) were done by Telesound Productions
News People and Spirit of Pittsburgh were Tuesday Productions
